Got home to find a letter from the hospital confirming the date for my op:eek: - although I've been wanting to know when it is so I can plan etc, now it's arrived I'm in a right tizz.
Need to calm down and plan what I need to do - have started stocking up on things but need loads more so it looks like the cc will get a hammering this month:(.
.
I know you've been waiting for this for a while now. At least it will soon be over and done with and you can look ahead without feeling that dread, if you know what I mean.

Hugs to 23rd Spiral [thanks for your pm] and Rising From The Ashes- I always have a small bottle of Rescue Remedy on me to help me not to trigger a panic attack whenever possible.

I agree with the Rescue Remedy. The Bach flower remedies are very good.
And thanks for the hellos. And then I didn't post again as me and hubby went off to Dorset for a few days. First holiday ever on our own in 24 ish years! Just lovely and perfect for recharging the batteries.
Have read the last few pages and hope to keep up with everyones posts a bit more than I have been these last few weeks.

OMG my cat is back on heat and the kitten are not even 7 weeks old!!!
I have to keep her away from the kittens for the next 10 days until her milk dries up before I can take her to be snipped. The house now resembles a prison :rotfl: I think the next 10 days are going to be hard going especially if it is hot as I dare not open the doors or windows incase Houdini is around
On the money saving front I bought that take away menu book and made the recipe for sausage mc muffins which tasted exactly like the real thing :T I have also made the kebabs which were the same as the kebab shops however I am not really keen on kebabs but DH bought some mince lamb by mistake and we don't eat lamb so hiding it in a load of spices at least used it up! Next will be the big mac and kentucky chicken so I will let you know how I get on.
sausage mc muffins cost about £2 to make and if we went to mc ds how much would that cost for five ??? quite a saving I think but still only to be had as a treat.
good tidings to all

Yup, feeling a bit calmer now:o and have started my "to do" list so I'm ultra organised when the time comes!:)
Trying hard to concentrate on the "after" - the 1st couple of months will be difficult but after that ... no pain and I'll be able to enjoy walks etc again so def worth it (in the long run). I think it's worse as I've had it done before so don't have the "blissful ignorance" of not knowing how sore it will be afterwards!
Well, it's been a TERRIBLE day here - absolutely chucking it down. Have been out several times brushing water from my flooded patio and have another flooded bit at the end of the garden:(.
Only upside is, I've not been anywhere to spend anything:rotfl:.

Arrrrgggghhhhh, whoever said making crumble was easy was lying!
Went in the cupboard and got the flour out to find it full of weavels  (uuuurggggh - slight freak out at this point);). Threw it away + container (I know you can still use it, but I just can't:o).
Got new bag out, and put mixing bowl on scales only for something odd to be happening - kept adding more and more and the weight went down. Bowl from mixer is a bit of an odd shape, so transferred it into another bowl - same thing.
Finally, stuck a new pack of butter on which confirmed the weight is counting down backwards.
Hunted around and finally found my weight measuring jug so started again but very confused as it only weighs in oz and I usually use g.
Anyway, crumble finally in oven (better not burn it!), scales in bin (will need a trip to get a new set tomorrow:( - more fuel as nearest place is miles away) and flour on practically every surface in the kitchen!
It BETTER be good!:)
Jut come upstairs to find wee cat attacking the new bag of cat food and it's now got loads of "claw pricks" all over it:mad: - not sure what to do as nowhere near needing needing to open it (was on offer which is why it's already bought) and don't have anything big enough to put it in as all my pet food tubs still have stuff in.

Hi Everyone
I hope everyone has had a good weekend & not to stressful London was great although busy with tourists - I had to keep telling myself its good for the economy :rotfl: found some tops in uniglo on sale which I needed as it seems that what i'm short on right now
Tumpty / Aril I used to get really bad panic attacks then my occupational therapist ( O.T) introduced me to meditation and i haven't looked back although it did take some getting used to but well worth it the other thing I found that made me less stressed was exercise for me that was walking & swimming - but whatever you like
I finish Mottisfont on the 17th - I don't know where the last 6 months have gone it seams that this year is flying by - or is that just me !!
Have a good week everyoneEmma :hello:0 -
Hi everyone,
Just nipping in to give everyone a wave and have a catch up on all your comings and goings. We've been on holiday for the past 2 weeks and it's been great. I say holiday, but I'm told what we had was a series of "daycations" which sounds very grand. Hoping the other than buying some curtain linings and a tin or two of paint the next couple of months will be pretty inexpensive. Hope you're all well.0 -

Aw it's a horrible feeling isn't it, especially like you say, you already know what to expect, but forewarned is forearmed, or something like that, and fingers crossed it may not be as bad this time round.
Weather here up north not too bad, showers on and off, but that's normal for our British Summer, isn't itrising_from_the_ashes wrote: »Arrrrgggghhhhh, whoever said making crumble was easy was lying!

Hope the crumble turned out yummy. I don't weigh out for pastry or crumble, I just have a guess and then either add more flour or marg as I go along.
As for the weevils I keep all my dry ingredients in jars with hermetically sealed tops and never had a problem since. Apparently I read it's the glue on the packets that attracts them, but don't know if that's right.
Don't know what to suggest about the cat food, would a local cafe have an empty tub they could give you, like those huge tubs they use for beans etc? Just a thought.

hi to everyone,
it's a no spend day for me. Was thinking of home made pizza for OH.
hope the crumbles are going well!!!:beer:grocery challenge 9.86/600 -
big frugal fail, I feel a bit out of control with my spending (and eating) need to sort it out, I'm just worried about so much, and my knee is worse so I can't go running which always makes me feel in control and better.
I think the cat has bad teeth and the vet said that could cost up to £400 :-( She probably only has a year or so left in her anyway she is ancient. Not sure what to do for the best. Her quality of life is good apart from only being able to eat liquidised cat food, her fur is gleaming, she is blind, likes sunbathing and sleeping and doing old cat things, I don't think it's right to put her down. I get the wrong type of benefits to take her to the PDSA.0
