    hi tumpty, have you seen these little box games, I know they had them in J@hn Lewis last year and they have them here too link
    They're not much bigger than a match box, well a bit more, but there's a big choice so you would hopefully get one that suits all.
    And for the vegan sisters how about baking some delicious chocolate cookies, Mr A sells vegan chocolate buttons, which you can break up and add to the cookies, in the 'free from aisle.' I know if anyone took the time to make me some vegan cookies I would be over the moon.

    Lots of gift ideas starting from recycled pens from around £1 odd as well as the good old sweeties that all vegans have to give up, like cola bottles etc that you get vegan versions of.

    Aril I love brown paper wrapping too. It can look lovely with a bit of raffia wrapped round.

    Ninth Anniversary Combo Breaker
    Heya everyone!
    Just a quick note from me.
    My fone broke so haven't had the best net connection to be able to keep up. i was just about getting on facebook!
    we have snow today, it hasnt landed but it is on the argyll hills (that i can see from my house and the boyfriends house... most beautiful hills ever!)
    It was donnas birthday last thursday, so we went to the cemetary at 7pm to light up those chinese lanterns, what a faff! it was freezing and the one we tried nearly started a bush fire! lol im glad we done something tho, and even more glad it didnt work out correct, cause things with donna rarely did lol
    we got flooded last week, worst we have had in many a year! here are some pictures of one of the train stations with a link to more pics if u want a nosey.
    Its my birthday this thursday (29), so im taking the wee man up to glasgow and going to go outdoor ice skating. the bf is coming with us too. me and him might go to edinburgh saturday night, details havent been finalised but id be happy with a 'kairgo' (pronounced that way but many spellings, depending how ned/chav u want to be!) in the house.

    Hope everyone is well and surviving this winter!
    here's hoping its not as bad as last year!!! reminds me, i need to order powdered goats milk 'just in case!' whilst i have a shot of a laptop.

    hopefully im back proper soon and can catch up with the 8+ pages ive missed! if not, have a great christmas and new year!

    We've been to get our weddings rings today, mine is so pretty :D also picked up some more christmas presents which means we've nearly done all of the christmas shopping which is good.

    Nothing much happening this week, apart from my birthday on tuesday, so I expect it'll be another quiet one.

    Just thought id ask here ...from some of you pro's.. ive got 2 vases.. with slim necks.. and there is no way i can clean them grrr lol.. a bottle cleaner wont reach the sides .. just dont know how people clean these things without buying some sort of gadget...??
    Random i know but was hoping for a frugal way of cleaning them rather than buying something xx

    There is a vase cleaning tip involving rice but I don't know if you wet it or not, google?! Sorry I'm about as much use as a chocolate teapot today!!!

    Hey all, we've been really today and ticked quite a bit off the list... I've moved 1 of the wood piles, extracted a pallet from the back of the big shed, put it down, then put the wood back on top! (me!!) OH was adamant the wood store would be built by now, but of course it isn't so doing that plus weighing down a tarp on top should keep the logs usable. He chopped more logs and kindling while I did this.

    And so I also tidied the shed... Could only get in a foot before, now there's floor space and even a chair!! If he dares to criticize because he can't find any tools, (now all tidy on a previously upended shelf unit), then I won't be blamed for the bad language!

    I've just labelled 31 jars of jam/jelly/chutney, am happy they are no longer on the kitchen surface, and am wondering where on earth to store them! Tomorows dinner is in the SC (woopsied stew pack veg, woopsied turkey steaks and casserole powder bb4 09!!), and dinner tonight will be a friends own shot, hung, and processed vennison sausages with roasts and woopsied veg. And am now having a well earned rest in front of the stove, and a catch up of my threads :)

    Edit: now I've read back and seen Everyone's posts...Sandra I'm so glad u had a great day out. Rochester is lovely in winter isn't it? I'm amazed u r able to do all u do for all your family AND organize a coach trip, that is testament you are a wonderful person. I loved the quote some one else put, it's very apt I think for you.     Cherry have u tired something foaming like bi-carb and whatever it is u put with it?! I'll ask my dad, he bought some old decanters that were horrid and made them usable again.

    Tumpty pound land ect usually have small games or travel games?

    thanks 23spiral .. i looked on google and it mentioned toilet cleaner with water and leave.. then pour.. not done this yet, will wait to see if any other replys, i do have bi carb x

    If you have any denture cleaning tablets like Steradent or supermarket cheapies try one or two of them in hand hot water in the vase and leave for a while or overnight , you might have to break them up if the neck is narrow.

    Bicarb work as well.
