hi Annie - RE-ganache, I've never made this either I thought it was hard to make!
so you basically melt say 100g choc and add it to cream and whisk, then just spread over cake? does it solidify or just got a bit stiff? am I best to fridge it for a while before i spread it on cake? all advices welcomed, I'm making chcolate logs at xmas and it sounds cheaper than readymade to decorate :-)0 -

Hi girls, so the ganache recipe really is easy. It's from good old bbcgoodfood.com (as usual)
140g milk chocolate
140g dark chocolate
300 ml double cream
While your cake is cooling, melt the chocolate, then stir in the cream (no need to whip the cream first). If it goes lumpy, don't panic (like I did when it happened to me), your cream is too cold, pop it in the microwave/pan and warm through gently til it's smooth and glossy. Leave it to cool until it's a spreadable consistency.
It really is that easy
It does harden up when it's cool, but not rock hard. Best not to keep it on the fridge, as the glossy finish will go dull, but it'll keep for a few days0 -

Do any of you sell your cupcakes at events? If so when you sell individual cupcakes how do you package them? I have looked at single boxes and cello bags but want them to look nice but not bump the cost up too much iyswim0
