I made a playable Angry Birds cake earlier this "Summer" (if I can call it that...) (inspired by http://www.electricpig.co.uk/2011/02/21/playable-angry-birds-birthday-cake-video/)

Was so much fun, unfortunately its meant that no cake I've made since has had a chance at stirring up any kind of excitement :(
There were ALOT of very hyper children after eating all that bright food colouring though! ;)

    (hope the link works)

Made some cupcakes on Thurs night for my OH's birthday yesterday. Can't believe how out of practice I am! (I used to make cakes and desserts in my old job 3 years ago.) I made a few errors but at least I will learn from it for next time.

(Will never be using Stork again for the buttercream, omg it is so yellow!! Totally ruined the colour I was trying to make!)

Made this cake today. It took me a lot longer than I expected it would and I started to get annoyed with it so its not as neat as I hoped, and I made a total mess of the icing on the board when I was doing the final decorating on the cake doh!

  • That's a fab cake. Is there anyone who makes cakepops? I wanted to know where the cheapest place is to buy Candy Melt from please?

The cheapest and most convenient place for me is Hobbycraft, £2.99 a bag... much cheaper than the online prices (considering delivery)

Also if you head to the hobbycraft website there is a "£5 off a £25 shop instore or online" voucher, when you sign up to their newsletter. So I usually get 9 bags for £26.91 (minus the £5 voucher = £21.91), so £2.43 per bag....

(if you don't need 9 bags, you may be able to find something else in there....)

It's my dads birthday next week, he has always wanted a maserati, which I don't think he will be getting!
But I was thinking about making him a maserati cake, don't know whether it will be too ambitious though,
has anyone got any ideas on how I could do it?

I found a bag of candy melt type chocolate drops in sainsbury's, strawberry flavour for about £1.50.

I hope that is some good to you.
I made my first cake pops today, rather on the large side, but tasted really good!
