Hey ladies your all doing beautiful cakes! DS's birthday is 1 month away and I am starting to stress! Can tell I am an amateur! Is it wrong to use packet mixes to do his chocolate sponge and if not can anyone reccommend any? Want to a rectangle cake but have no tin as yet as I did ont but it doesnt fit in the oven! So any ideas on that would be great too! Thanks xx:xmassmile**New** Thrifty Gifty Money Making for Christmas and all occasions 2012**:xmassmileMember No. 11 of Happy Chappy's Clip Strip Club!

I bought some rectangular tins from Robert Dyas the oother weekend, £6.99 BoGoF plus there was 20% off that day so woorked out at £2.80 each - but good buys even at £3.50 (you can mix and match with other tins).

where do u guys buy your sugarpaste from?0

Thanks girls. yes Nat it did take hours but mostly because only 5th cake have made so learning as i go and i do faff about
awesome the lettuce and cheese i coloured sugarpaste with gum trag added. cheese is just yellow with bit of pink to make it colour of that cheese that gets thrown on a burger (which i quite like). Lettuce just had little bit of green added then textured with ball tool, was easiest bit. for buns, i covered them in white then painted them with teddy bear brown mixed with vodka. think that made it more effective and less work than colouring the lot. reckon i am closet frustrated artist as that was my favourite bit:wall:Trying to get a grip :think:0 -
Mummy of two i get plain white from tescos and colour it myself unless need a lot of dark colour then buy from squires kitchen as live fairly close but theres loads of suppliers online and ebay:wall:Trying to get a grip :think:0

Mummy of two - I usually just buy white from the supermarkets or buy from http://www.cakescookiesandcraftsshop.co.uk/ or ebay x0
