Ooh cake4brains that is absolutely stunning! I adore it! So elegant and chic, really gorgeous! Congrats on the pregnancy too.
S23xy I'm not baking this weekend. I'm off to see my Dad in Scotland next week so I shall be taking him some strawberries ( farm up the road from us does the best strawberries we've ever tasted! They grow for m & s but they're only £1 a punnett direct!) and we've also been to the hotel chocolat factory shop for a lovely box of his favourite chocs at 30% off! Much easier to take on the train. I shall also be seeing my nephews and
I always make something for them-muppett cupcakes and Easter eggs last time, the eldest asked if he could borrow my Easter egg mold bless him. But this time I'm going to do them a jar of ingredients for cookies that they can bake themselves. I did the 5 minute chocolate mug cake with the youngest last year and he loved that.

I gave several people the BBC Good food Brownies in a jar at Christmas with a poundland baking tin and wooden spoon - went down a treat.

What cookie recipe do you use?

I used this recipe and it was gorgeous!

    Carrot Cake

    Ingredients: (8” round)

    560g 10oz (280g) Plain Flour,
    2 1 Teaspoon (5ml) baking powder,
    2 1 Teaspoon (5ml) Bicarbonate of Soda,
    1 ½ Teaspoon (2.5ml) salt,
    4 2 Teaspoons (10ml) ground cinnamon,
    2 1 egg,
    120-180ml 2-3floz (60-90ml) milk or water,
    4 2 Tablespoons (30ml) honey,
220-280ml 4-5oz (110-140g) fine white granulated sugar or light soft brown sugar,
680g 12oz (340g) Approximately 2 large carrots finely grated (or chopped in a food processor),
    2 1 Teaspoon (5ml) Vanilla Essence,
180ml 3 FL oz. (90ml) vegetable oil or 3 oz. butter melted,
120-170ml 2-3 oz. (60-85g) chopped walnuts or raisins optional.

The non-red measurements are for cupcakes as it was a cupcake recipe originally so I doubled it for an 8" round.
Nat posted it for me, I've yet to try it though.

The huge lemon drizzle cake I made for the weekend on Friday has been sitting in an airtight container untouched - my jubilee plans changed because of the rain. I'll take it to my parents this w/end instead.

    Hi

I used my favourite nozzle, the 2d for the rose swirls. The two tone effect is dead easy. before you fill your piping bag with cream or buttercream, put a small smidge of colour towards the tip end of bag and the rub the bag so that the colour distributes. Add your cream/buttercream then pipe and you will get graduations of colour as you pipe.

    Hi Bindi

Do you rub it all up to the top of the bag how much do you use

hi I rub it about a third of the way and used the wrong end of a paintbrush to apply the colour.
