Jazzypinkpuppet. I've only just started to try and freeze cupcakes and they definitely freeze ok without the icing but not sure if the icing would though.0

Wow Nat they're gorgeous! Love the 2 tone colour!
Jazzypinkpuppet could you roll and cut out your sugarpaste circles a few days before and keep them in an airtight container. It stays soft if in airtight box. I'd just layer them with grease proof paper in the box and they'd be fine then just put them on the cakes when you take them out of the freezer.0 -

Need some advice I normally only make the letter cakes to sell but have been asked for prices for a 6" round or square or 8" round or square single tiers I thought £30 for the 6" & £35 for the 8" does that sound allright or should it be less. I hate working out prices.0

WOW just looked through the entire thread and all the cakes are amazing.
Can I just ask, if it possible to make cupcakes and decorate them with the rolling out icing and then freeze them ?
It is for my ds holy communion on Saturday, I am working all day thurs and fri so will have no time.
Thanks
I have made and iced cakes midweek and they have been fine at the weekend. I have found if you freeze cakes when iced they go a bit sticky.0 -
So, I've just seen a photo of my black and pink wedding cake and the bottom tier slid
It didn't completely break but you can see that it has shifted back.
I put 5 dowels in the bottom tier, 4 in the middle and used royal icing to secure each tier.
She did drive 20 miles with it in the back of the car, on someones knee (even though I advised her to put it in the boot) and I wonder if that is what has caused the damage or if it was something I did wrong?
I could actually vomit right now0 -
To be honest I'd say that's her fault for ignoring your advice! Cakes should always be transported on a flat surface, not wobbling around on someone's knee lol. Don't beat yourself up about it£2 Savers Club 2011 (putting towards a deposit

hi, just a quick question to you fab decoraters out there - do you buy your sugarpaste in or do you make it yourself? What i have been doing recently is buying the white packet icing and colouring it myself but is this correct?? My wrists arent very good and they ache for days afterwards but is it really expensive to buy already coloured sugarpaste and is it sugarpaste you use to cover cakes or is it just for the decorations on top - sorry for all the questions!
I just made a top gear cupcake tower this weekend - i was up all night finishing it off and i was a bit worried as i did them yellow but they loved them!0
