Ooohh Bindiboo can't believe the price you paid for your kenwood. I got the same model the first week in January after burning out the second motor in my second breville. I paid £150 in arg*s and that said it was on offer! You are gonna love it. I thought I loved my breville but I adore the kenwood:-) Hope you've had time for a play.

Not really much help to you tealeaves get mine at local cake decorating supplies shop but I thought the new silver spoon range included pastes ( that is available in the supermarkets) I must've been mistaken:( They are not cheap but last for a very long time cos u only need a tiny amount.

Saw this in my local Home Bargains store and had to have it! Only £2.99 and there are 40 receipe cards in a nice little tin. Perfect little pressie for mothers day or for any cakey fanatic like myself.

I get mine form Ebay, from a seller called Party Animal Online. I find they offer good value and good service too.
  • Hi all,

Just wanted to introduce myself :)

I LOVE baking but have only ever done it randomly or for peoples birthdays. But me and the boy (the OH, lol) have recently moved in together and after a few weeks of buying lunch we’ve realised this is costing us a fortune so we’re going to make proper packed lunches, lol. We’re both cake people though, so I’m going to start looking at making things that I can bung in the freezer. The idea is in the morning we can raid the freezer for sandwiches and cake, then top it up with yoghurts and fruit.

Anyone got any tips for cake that freezes well? I’d make sure I portioned it all out first so we can just grab a slice of frozen cake.

    I was thinking:

Cupcakes (can you freeze them with buttercream frosting?)
Slices of victoria sponge (again will the buttercream inside freeze ok?) and chocolate sponge
Chocolate Brownies (REALLY need to find a good recipe as have NEVER made a good brownie yet!)

Possibly some other traybakes and biscuits too? Like Shortbread (including millionaires), cookies etc.

    Does all this freeze ok?

    Baking Rach xxx
