  • Hi I wanted to share my creations, this is my first batch, just vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting, Jaysus that icing with bags and nozzles is harder than it looks!
I don't know if the bag and nozzle were rubbish, any reccomendations?

Then I decided to have a bash at Oreo cupcakes, that my 2 sons LOVED!

This is the inside of them, turned out pretty good! Although I think my cake mix was a bit to not runny.

it looks like you need a much big nozzle to pipe the swirls you would like. I use a Wilton 1M for big swirly american style cupcakes. the oreo ones look fab!:T
  • Thank you, cAN you use any bags with the wilton nozzles?
  • im not sure to be honest, as i just make my own from greaseproof paper

    Hi

Yes you can use any bags with wilton nozzles. I always use disposable bags there is no faffing around washing the bags you just use then throw away, I get mine from lakeland these are the ones I use and they are huge so you get a lot in them.

Thanks Awesome! I used Tesco Luxury Milk Chocolate from the baking section, it's 79p a block. I melted 2 blocks, as I didn't think 1 block would be enough. I didn't temper it either, it melted wonderfully using my tried old basin over a pan of water method, it kept liquid for ages as well for me to work with it. I used my palette knife and spread it over the sides, and then putting a little on each chocolate finger, stuck it on. Once I had done the outside, I put it in the fridge for 20 mins to harden, then poured the rest on the top of the cake and set the chocolates into it. Much easier than I thought it was going to be, the chocolate really covered well and it was really great to work with. The bonus was that it tasted exactly like Dairy Milk as well, I would definately use it again for my cakes! :D

I use my wilton nozzles with disposable bags as well, these are the ones I buy - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20-x-DISPOSABLE-SAVOY-21-ICING-PIPING-FOOD-MASH-BAGS-/150573884963?pt=Uk_Crafts_Cake_Decorating_MJ&hash=item230ee72623 you just snip off the end to match the size of the nozzle, and then throw them away once you are done. I prefer them to my cotton icing bags, less time washing up!! :rotfl:

Hi all, I've been searching for a peppa pig cake topper tutorial, want to make a peppa from sugarpaste, can anyone help pls? tia xx

Hi I find Youtube is great for tips on how to make figures. If there isnt a peppa pig one there, there are thousands of vids on how to make figures. They pretty much use the same techniques. HTH
