    Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good chocolate cake recipe? I use the Good Food Easy vanilla cake for my special cakes, is there anyway I'd be able to alteer that recipe to make it chocolatey? I love the texture of that cake. It's lovely and moist and easy to work with when icing it so if I could convert that it would be perfect!

    Thank you x

Ive never tried this cake, want to now though.....I usually substitute some of the flour for cocoa so if i was doing a 250g mix I would use 200g flour 50g cocoa, need to make a giant cupcake for tomorrow so may try this out

Hi everyone, DD11 and I recently got into baking cakes. Haven't got as far as icing them yet, thats the next thing to get and practice with. Anyway was in the 99p shop today and they had the Mrs Bakers cardboard cupcake stands, blue with white polkadots. Really pleased with this as I was looking at them online before payday and was going to order at £5 plus postage. Picked up one for myself, will be good for DD's birthday.

Can anyone tell me where to get the icing bags and nozzle, plus paste colouring. Would like to get it this weekend otherwise I would have ordered online. Cant think of any cake decorating shops in South Bristol.

Asda sell paste colouring, not as good as sugarflair but would be easy to get hold of, dunelm mill sell some colours & nozzles & hobbycraft if you have either of those nearby

This chocolate cake recipe is lovely. Very rich. Don't be afraid of adding the coffee. I promise it will not taste of coffee. It just adds depth of favour to the cake

That's the amount for an 8" round cake. I don't know what quantity you need for a giant cupcake. You could try making 1 and a half the quantity and if there's any left over you could make cupcakes, or a small cake (freezable if left in-iced)

I use this chocolate cake recipe

    http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/4689/chocolate-cake

Its delicious. Everyone in my work thinks its the best chocolate cake ever and I was making a birthday cake for someone in work this week and he asked me for this cake.

My friend is also a chocaholic and cant get enough of this. Every time I make it I have to make her a little one just for her lol.

This is the cake I just made this week. First time Ive used the chocolate icing and it worked better than I thought it would.

I think a 6 egg mix would do your giant cupcake so one and a half times your quantities should give you enough.

Thanks Annie and Emms! I'll give them a try!

I made this chocolate cola cake at Christmas and it was amazing but wasn't sure about using it as a celebration cake. We just ate it warm with ice cream! Hubby and work colleagues aid it was the best chocolate cake they'd tasted!
