Another way of doing things!
When doing your weekly shop at the supermarket, keep an eye on the running total, when it's £?'s and a few pence, ask cashier to stop, pay, then start again!

When you register it says ....
Thanks again for registering - now saving will be as easy as buying a pint of milk!
Well, I will be paying for one pint of milk at a time for the next two months. And one pack of polos, etc. It's going to be extra work for shops.0 -
Am I right in saying it will only count of it shows up as a DEB on my statment? My paypal shows up as a DD? how can I put my debit card on my paypal account??0

I like the idea mentioned earlier about using petrol - maybe buying £5.01 per day (if you use that much and live near a Petrol Station) will help get a good way towards £50.
As for using lots of small purchases in shops - I agree it's a great way to do it, but don't go overboard at small retailers. Most shops with a modest card turnover are charged a flat fee (between 5p and 15p IIRC) for Debit Card transactions.
Most small shops do have a minimum spend to ensure they are not losing out too much, but then again please reconsider doing two £5.01 transactions in a day if the min spend is £5 and you legitimately wanted to spend £10 - why not do a few £1.01 at a mega-superstore instead the next time you're there, as well as spending your money at your local small store to help keep it in business.
I'm not saying the people here will go overboard with trying to hit £50, it's just that 15p from a £5.01 spend is a 3% cost that is paid by your local shopkeeper. (This cost may have changed or varied sinc eI researched it 3 years ago, but I'm sure it's in the right ball-park)0 -

So, I am overdrawn (in an agreed overdraft) so does that mean I can't do this scheme?
The way I read it was that the additional rounded up bit (eg the 99p on a £X.01 transaction) wouldn't be taken if it send you into unauthorised overdraft - so if you're in an authorised overdraft, you are fine. I hope that's the case anyways, or all my money moving will be in vain :rolleyes:0 -

I have called Lloyds/TSB customer service this morning to clarify this promotion as I have not received any info from the bank itself (even though I have been a loyal customer for 20 years!) and I was only reading what was on this site. I registered yesterday and wanted to confirm if I could start spending now to amass my 'savings' from day one. I was told that the offer will not start working properly until MONDAY 5TH FEBRUARY. And yes even if you go 1p over the pound they will round up to the next pound, so Tesco petrol pumps here I come next Monday.DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0

I'm just going to sit by my card machine (restaurant) and do the whole lot in one go. 50x 1p on the card. I'm sure it'll ask me to ring the bank every five minutes as their fraud alerts they start flashing...but hey!
Shafting Lloyds for an after-tax £40/hour or so sounds good like a good way to spend a rainy evening.0
