EMS asks if they will get stung for bank charges if the rounded up change puts them overdrawn. It states in the blurb that will not happen; they only transfer the change if there is enough there.
I registered today and they don't start matching my amount until February. As I am going to be working abroad for a couple of months from 21 jan I am not going to get to use my card at all.
I didn't have to transfer £250 to open the account either.
I will keep the account open because it might be a useful way of saving pennies. Without the temptation of smashing the piggy-bank open halfway through the month!0 -
I'm with Lloyds at the mo, bt in process of reclaiming bank charges from them so may possibly close account after that.
I'm sure I saw an advert in Halifax window saying they give you cashback on each purchase on your debit card, but I might be wrong. Anyone know anything about this;0 -

Yup - I have a Halifax moneyback current account/debit card. I actually work for HBOS (Halifax) too so I get some privilleges - one of them being no minimum funding requirements. You would need to fund with £1,000 per month. Cashback is 1% on the first £10,000 spend in a year (so £100 max) and then it's 0.1%.
Interest is usually not great but if you are paying in £1,000/month you get 5% I think. All details here : http://halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/moneyback.shtml
I had a cashback credit card with smile previously but they kept reducing cashback so now I use this card for most purchases. In some ways it's good as you can pay for things and get cashback at on some purchases that usually incur a credit card fee (ie holidays).0 -
this could be used with the boots botanics offer, 99p for a bar of botanics soap get a moisturiser free, and these are worth from £3- £8. any boots babe will tell you that, and get 100 points back for voucher in mag:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

oops just realized that only gives you a penny each time for banking, wrong way round, but your not paying really so you could sell the moisturiser and put that in the bank:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

Hi All
This is probably a silly question but I am not sure how to do the paying 1p to yourself with paypal? I have a paypal account for if I buy something on ebay, but I don't really understand what else I can do on paypal?
Thanks

Don't forget this starts tomorrow!:T
Another way of doing things!
When doing your weekly shop at the supermarket, keep an eye on the running total, when it's £?'s and a few pence, ask cashier to stop, pay, then start again! This post was created in an area that may contain nuts!0 -
t and c's says you can't be overdrawn, but does this mean at the time of the transaction? as i am only overdrawn for 2 weeks in the month, so if i use my switch while in credit will it work then?
also if i register my switch debit card on pay-pal and buy stuff on ebay will it work?
