Configuring SIP or IAX SoftPhones in order to call with 1899

Configure a SIP softphone as follows:

    User Name:
    1899 + your phonenumber

    Password:
    your 1899 customer number

    Domain/Realm (optional):
    1899.com

    SIP Proxy/registrar:
    sip.1899.com

    SIP Outbound Proxy (optional):
    sip.1899.com

    STUN server (optional):
    stun.1899.com

Configure an IAX softphone as follows:

    User Name:
    1899 + your phonenumber

    Password:
    your 1899 customer number

    IAX Server:
    iax.1899.com

    G.726 (16, 24, 32 kbps
    GSM (13.2 kbps)
    G.711 (64 kbps)

Oh, call1899 softphone is still working.
Since call1899 introduced voipcheap, I thought 1899 stopped their voip services. It is great that the 1899 voip service is still working because the rate to call to mobile phones on weekends is very cheap!!!

anyone knows the rates if I am using the softphone?
When I registered my account, I used my mobile phone number. I am wondering if they charged based on the rate list for calling from mobile phones or from normal landlines.

I will set it up for my PAP2 soon! Thanks Bextech for the configuration info.

I've had 1899 working OK on my PAP2 too, but mainly use VoIP Stunt. I do occasionally use 1899 but usually via their 0808 access number from my Sipgate line, but try not to call mobiles if I can help it.

I mainly use sipdiscount and sipgate at the moment on my PAP2 in the UK.

However, with the same settings, the sipdiscount couldn't run on another PAP2 in my country (VN). Although, I can use that PAP2 with voipbuster but not sipdiscount or voipstunt. It says "connected", but whenever I make phonecalls, it always gives "busy tone". I spent a week testing and re-configuring but finally gave up :( . I have no idea why it doesn't work there. Maybe, the ISP blocks it somehow.

In Firefly it is best to choose IAX.

As long as you have 3rd party version of firefly you should be OK.

    Under Networks, choose a Network.

    Select Network type as IAX

In the server setting enter iax.1899.com

In the username setting enter 1899[plus your phone number]

In the password setting enter the 1899 account number.

Tick: Route my internal calls using this network.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Right, you need the 3rd party version.

    Try: http://www.bextech.co.uk/sw/firefly-thirdparty.exe
