Please may I join? I started really trying to lose weight at the end of May and so far have shifted 7lbs but want to try for at least 7lbs every month.

I'm using the fab website linked to in the first post - I'm not going to log everything I consume for ever but am going to stick to it for a few weeks with daily weighs and logging so I get a clear picture of how what I eat (and when) affects me. I'm using the website's estimation of 1600 cals per day (but seem to be eating only about 1400 on av - figure not going to eat more unless I'm hungry!)

I'm also doing 45 mins of cross trainer every day - normally around 14km. Machine tells me that's 480 cals. Amount of sweat produced makes me think it should be at least 2000!

Aria's tail - there a couple of good programmes to follow for sit ups/press ups - www.twohundredsitups.com is one - they have good (free) printoffs you can use to take you through the programme.

I think you will find it is your body adjusting to your new food eating! lets just say things got a bit windy for me! :o

If it continues then a trip to the dr's !!

I've been bad, went to visit a customer miles away today, the only place where it is raining I am sure, so got drenched, then stopped at a service station to dry out, and had chips to eat!

Me too! I'm glad that's happened to someone else. I think its the body's way of getting rid of all the bad stuff, I've never eaten so much fruit and veg before I don't think my poor body can cope :rotfl:

I lost 2 lbs last week, although July only started on Friday so hopefully I can do the same good work this week. My starting weight is 12 st 8 lbs, hopefully the heaviest I will be. :) I'm hoping to lose inches so that my clothes fit me better rather than weight though, so anything I can lose I'll see it as a bonus.

Is anyone following a specific eating plan? I'm doing Weight To Go at the moment - they send you shakes, soups and meals in a pouch and you add fruit and veggies. My other half is joining me to try and lose weight for our hols and we're both enjoying the food, so far so good.

I'm finding it hard to fit in exercise though with working full time as well, so at the moment its dog walking plus half an hour session of kettle bell training a couple of times each week. I need more hours in the day :D

Wow! Been doing the pilates machine for a week now and lost an inch and a half from my waist! Well chuffed with that, but my waist isn't my problem area. I need it to come off my butt :D I'm such an odd shape, I have a 16-18 sized waist but a 24-26 sized bum :( The wii says I've lost a pound since Monday but not taking any official measurements til next week
Smashed through my weightloss target. Looking at 120lbs+ loss. BMI over 40 down to 20.5. Training hard to get body fat under 20%, not far to go now :j

Just rushed off to google to see what a pilates machine is as never heard of one, to find a fit young lady on youtube, lying on her back attached by the ankles to a line pully thing, doing things with her legs, :o I can just see me doing that in the local gym :o:o:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Siren~ well done for the loss, what sort of exercise do you do with a pilates machine.

Siren~ well done for the loss, what sort of exercise do you do with a pilates machine.

Exactly what you said above. It's a full body system, the straps can be used for the arms too. It looks scary but the motion is really fluid so anyone can do it. My machine comes with a trampoline type board as well. It's supposed to be good for cardio. That is hard work though. QVC sell them, there's videos on there

Hi guys, room for a latecomer?

I've only just realised that MSE has threads devoted to this kind of thing and I'm really chuffed. I've had a look at several weightloss / fitness forums over the last few days and they're a bit scary. With you guys I'm at home already.

I've been hitting the gym like a demon over the last 2 weeks and successfully GAINED 2lb . Makes the 23 to go seem pretty hard, lol. But I like your thinking with focussing on 7lb.

I currently weight 177lb and would like to drop that by the end of this month. I have a session with one of the gym instructors tonight, so hopefully I can find out where I've been going wrong.

Good luck to all for the coming week. xx

    Finally a Homeowner 04.10.13 :j
