Another late starter here. Brief into....I've always been overweight, I think my natural size is a 24 lol. I come from a "large size" gene pool so being thin is hard work. About 7-8 years ago I lost shed loads of weight, got married at a size 10 but have since ballooned back to 17 stone. In my defense, we did move to a new area and had a baby so been at home for 4 years
I'm now again at the "ready" stage. I started last Thursday and hubby has been really good too. It helps that we are both trying to shed weight. I've cut out all the rubbish food and have started working out daily on my pilates machine. The workout lasts about 20-30 minutes but I'm not convinced it will help with weight loss. It is fabulous for the mind and I do feel great when afterwards just not sure if it's enough. So fingers crossed and good luck to everyone else.
Good to see you Siren, and here's hoping we can help you shift that weight! Do you want a starting weight on the opening post?Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Cheers
Maz
Good luck all! : )
I've got you, and weighing in is entirely up to you, some people weigh weekly, others fortnightly and others monthly! So decide and go from there

Had a very busy and tiring family-reasoned six months that saw me well and truly slip off the weight loss wagon and onto grabbing on the move or bad quick choices because I was too exhausted to do anything.
The good thing is that I've sort of yo-yoed because of that and I've been bouncing between 5 pounds on and off because I've been so active that the bad stuff hasn't settled.
The bad thing is that all that makes me realise that if I had taken the chance to batch cook like I have all the times before or shopped for things that weren't so easy to quickly eat on the hop that I would have lost - but you can't change it, and at the time I would have growled how I'd rather sit down and rest my feet. :rotfl:
So yes, I'd like to lose those five pounds and at least 2 more this month to set me back on an even keel :T So please sign me up!
Ah yes those wonderful bouncing pounds, dontcha luuuuurve them :mad::mad: - ah well here's hoping you have seen the last of them!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Oh nooooooo! Maybe in a few (successful) months lol
I've just finished my daily pilates workout. I do love it, my shoulders and chest feel so open afterwards. Thighs and tummy are a bit tender but if weightloss were easy, I wouldn't be whale likeSmashed through my weightloss target. Looking at 120lbs+ loss. BMI over 40 down to 20.5. Training hard to get body fat under 20%, not far to go now :j0 -

Pilates is supposed to be good for toning and suppleness, not for major calorie burn BUT how you look in your clothes is just as important as what the scales say so stick with it!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

I have a machine that comes with a bounce board that's supposed to be good for cardio and I do use that daily too. The problem is, my thighs absolutely kill after a couple of runs through the different types of bounces. I'm never out of breath, just in agony lol
I'm hoping as my muscles get used to working this way I'll be able to bounce a bit longer. I'd use a trampoline but EVERYTHING bounces, not as graceful and elegantOnce I drop a few sizes/stones, I'll get back onto my bicycle, I think the seat may disappear up my backside if I tried now :rotfl:

*cough, splutter* thank you for that :rotfl:, I nearly pebble-dashed my screen with tea! I must confess though that if I turn around in a hurry it takes a while for bits of me to stop movingDo not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Ha yes I know what you mean
All my bits are heading south apparently bound for Australia
Getting dressed in a morning is more like a construction project as i haul my boobs up from around my waist and then persuade my belly into a position above my knees.
Thank God for control underwear is all I can say

Hahaha, I know that feeling !
Just a quick question, does anyone else suffer from side effects with the new eating plan (refuse to use the D word)? I've become very *ahem* regular :eek:Smashed through my weightloss target. Any one any exercise ideas that don`t involve swimming, running, walking or really being on my feet? I had a tattoo done on Sunday night over the top of my foot and around my ankle. It looks great but wearing shoes or stretching my foot is agony, have been paddling around in bare feet yesterday which is fine but can`t go far from the house, although I can drive in bare feet fine!
I`m gonna try doing lots of stretches, sit ups etc. Might do some upper body weights later but any other ideas welcome.0
