£60 is exclusive of VAT, £63 is with 5% VAT added.

Before I phone Co-op can anyone tell me if their gas bill showed a price increase at 1/12/11. I signed up late July , first reading 25/08 so I think 2.1 tariff.

I was aware that prices increased at 3/11/11 ( but didn't receive email). I received an email saying my prices would not decrease as at 1st Feb.

Yet my bill shows an increase at 01/12/11 and a decrease at 01/02/12. By my reckoning they should all be charged at 3.57p.
    An overcharge of £4 - £5

edit: prices removed see later post

It would help if you said what region you were in.

FYI, once you are on a particular tariff, you stay on it. So if you are on v2.1, you stay on 2.1, and then it goes up (and perhaps) down.

All their tariffs are here: http://www.cooperativeenergy.coop/prices/

Once you open one, scroll down to see the earlier tariffs, which are dated. If in doubt, ring the Co-op them to establish which tariff you are on. At least they seem to be honest, unlike the other ones.

The only one I can see that had a 3.09 gas tariff on Nov 2 was v1.1 in some of its areas, but I don't recognise the other numbers which you listed, and what you've copied and pasted is a bit hard to decipher.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I agree the cut and paste has gone awry - it looked alright at time of typing but columns lost after submit.

The prices are taken from the bill which are before vat added
so from the bill it is showing

    Aug 11 till 02/11/11 3.09p ( which is 3.24 after vat)
    03/11/11 till 01/12/11 3.57p ( which is 3.75 after vat)
    01/12/11 till 01/02/12 3.69p ( which is 3.87 after vat)
    01/02/12 till 01/03/12 3.59p ( which is 3.77 after vat)

from the table ( region 20) the prices should be to be 3.24p and 3.75p.

I was just wondering if anyone else had seen this price change at 01/12/11.

A pity the bill does not show the tariff. I will give them a ring

I also signed up in August on tariff 2.1 and my statement received yesterday shows price decrease of 1st February, nothing on 1/12/11. There was confusion at the time about the decrease because they didn't mention 2.1 but they confirmed by email to me that 2.1 was included in the price decrease.

December elec bill, prices ex vat, customer readings

    Thanks Meggsy.

I phoned them and although the chap could not tell me what tariff I was on ( said we only do one tariff), he did agree that there had been an error and was passing it to pricing/biling team and would get back to me.

Does your bill or welcome letter show what version of tariff you are on ?

P.S. your cut and paste from bill is neat in columns, please PM me instructions !

    QUOTE]

My Welcome Pack doesn't show the applicable tariif. However, I eventually had a price increase letter dated 29th September (which they failed to despatch at that time but which they sent when I discovered that prices were going up in November). That price increase letter says, halfway down: "As you signed up on 27/06/2011, here's how it will affect you:"

So that means, according to the prices table at http://www.cooperativeenergy.coop/prices/ that I am on Version 2.1, for signup between 13th April 2011 and 31st July 2011.

Note that the applicable tariff is for when you signed up, not first supply date.

So, find a price increase letter, (or get them to email one if they have failed to send you one for the Nov increase) then go through the same rigmarole to establish your tariff, if they are incapable of telling you what it is!

If you are on V2.1 in Region 20, your tariff should have been (incl. 5% VAT)
    11.12 Elec/3.24 Gas 27 May 2011 to 31 October 2011; then
    12.51 Elec/3.75 Gas 1 November 2011 to 31 January 2012 then
    11.48 Elec/3.75 Gas from 1 February 2012

All paperwork only refers to the Pioneer tariff and not the version which I have confirmation is v2.1.

Nothing special about the columns elektra, it was a straight copy/paste from the bill without the headings. Including those did send it a bit haywire ;) Hope you have the bill sorted out soon.
