I've given a meter read today, I like the fact that I can see previous meter reads and my balance with £50 discount already credited !

Wow, steady on Coop, I'm ex npower and not used to this treatment :D

I'm switching away from the Co-op after about a month. It's primarily because of the price rise but in my experience the competance and speed of customer service has left much to be desired.

It's all good so far for me, I did email them and received a reply the following day.

I only saw the total in my account and it was definitely £50 more than it should have been after two DD payments, although the third is due tomorrow ;)

I managed to fix with Ovo before their latest price rise, so it amounted to a saving of about £200 compared to Co-op's proposed rates.

Now contacted them, the £50 is there, BUT they still take the same DD, and your a/c is in credit...........bit naughty as I dont want to be "In Credit" I wanted the amount to be deducted from my DD.!

I'd get in touch with them if you feel you are too much in credit. Their FAQ says they review the DD's every 6 months....

We will review your direct debit amount every 6 months because we want to make sure your direct debit is always accurately reflecting your actual consumption.
Adjusting your direct debit payment is simply to make sure you don’t get too far in arrears or credit.

Personally the credit balance should help offset the higher prices so I wont feel any impact for a number of months.

Worth a reminder here that Co-op are offering £50 off first bill for sign ups before 9th December.
