Blight alert !!!! *********

The leaves are very low down and will get water splash. They look like the start of blight to me, the freckles. I cut all my leaves off up to the first truss and am very careful when I water. I use growpots with water in the outer ring. If people aren`t using them then look into using an upturned bottle or some such to avoid splashing
Anyway, cut those leaves off and burn them and move that plant away from other toms and potatoes
middle pic, oh you have it on the stems too. Argh. You are going to have to take drastic action ie either cut off totally or burn the whole plant0

I will remove all blighted leaves and all other low down leaves. Incidentally I did that last year as it made watering easier.
I have already removed the affected stem. May destroy the whole plant.
Why do you need to burn them? Is that the only way of safe disposal?0

the close up of the stems blackening certainly looks more blighted than the other leaves (which look scorched)
remove blackened stems and take off all damaged leaves on other plants - if more leaves start to show specks or stems start to go black - cut all foliage off at ground levelsaving money by growing my own - much of which gets drunk
 made loads last year :beer:0

I couldn't figure out how to add photos without them all being massive, so here is a link to the album.

I am fearing the worst - can somebody please confirm whether this is blight?
a close up on the stems (on the last pic) does seem to show patches of stem blackening - so could well be blight
i should also say that the plants are suffering for being in small pots tbh (lack of nutrients etc) and a poorly plant is more likely to struggle against the many viruses aroundsaving money by growing my own - much of which gets drunk

Thanks. This is only my 2nd year growing potatoes and they were in the same bags last year (but with different soil) with no problems.
From what I can tell the stems are not blackened so maybe that's a good thing - or maybe it just hasn't got that far down yet.0

just keep an eye out for any spreading of the discolouration - especially dark patches on the stems - that's really all you can do for nowsaving money by growing my own - much of which gets drunk

Are those bumps that look sort of like warts on the stem normal? Just wondering because I've also got these and it's my first time growing tomatoes0

When I was at the allotment yesterday I noticed Blight on my Smiles, the king edwards and cara's seem to be unaffected. My OH has cut the hulme on the smiles and we were going to lift them in a week or two. The outdoor tomatoes also seem to be unaffected at the moment. So hoping they will be ok. I live in North Dorset and many other plots at the allotment seem to have blight aswell. Very early for blight in our area.0

someone on our allotment had the first signs but she is a good gardener and cut all the haulms and took them home. There is one nice person there who just digs some potatoes and leaves his haulm on the ground, bad housekeeping and unfair to everyone else. One or two have sprayed with bordeaux but I am not, I have cara which has 7/10 for blight resistance and I`ll just be looking at the weather ahead before I decide what to do
