Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Yellow - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Good morning all, looks like we're on the way to getting the promised sunshine today, things are brightening up by the minute here in sunny Stinchcombe!
My pledge for this week is £160. *Gasp*
This is because it is payday on Thursday and have to give my mum £50 for the Fathers Day meal the other day, and also have to get car tax £71.50. Also no doubt I will need a couple of bits and there's a possibility I'll go for a drink later in the week!
Have a fantastic money-saving week everyone!
LC x

Hello peoples
I will pledge a mahusive 200 smackers as I have the dreaded car MOT to get in... I hate it because you know there's always something!
All of my other debt payments I don't include just the extras I need to pay for.
Going out on Saturday with my friend to choose a dress for her wedding (for me) which will be nicehaven't been clothes shopping in a long time! Xxx

I took £30 cash out today so that has to last the week including bus fares.0 -
Hey LC
Apologies for being MIA work has been horrendous. Many thanks for starting the thread I will start it next week I promise
I was green last week as I had £2 left in my purse when I left work on Friday (at 7pm:eek:). Total £38 / £40
On a positive note I have had a very productive day as I have been to the gym and defrosted the freezer (something I have needed to do for months!)
I am going for £30 this week as although it was recently pay day I have a few things on later in the month so need to save my pennies for that.
Have a good week everyone.Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

I'd like to have a bash at this if I may! I've only recently had my LBM, and one of my thoughts was to give myself an allowance for the week for incidentals! So this place will be great as I can follow mine and everyone elses progress here!:D
I've the week off from work so I'm pledging £50 please. That should be enough for me to treat myself to a few ice creams at the beach and maybe a look in Primani! Especially as today should be a NSD, and so was yesterday!
Have a good day everyone x0 -
