Hugs to WelshWoofer This may just be a grocery challenge forum, but I count us all as friends too. :)

I generally look to here for support when things are tough, GC or otherwise.
My name is CherryPie and I'm addicted to grocery shopping!!

    Grocery Challenge

    Feb 2016 - £46.73 / £100.00
  • Another silly question ... (sorry):o

I've noticed that some people have dates in their signatures which don't tie in with the months?

eg (69chick - hope you don't mind me using your sig as an example):

    August GC £360 176.72 19July - 18 August

And I noticed in the OP that it said some people may still be working on June's budget in July?

    How does this work?

I'm thinking that if it could be part way through the month that would work really well for me - I tend to get all my groceries etc on my cc which runs from 9th - 8th of the month.

I clear this in full each month so the money out my salary is a month behind IYSWIM (out of July's pay, I've just cleared June's groceries etc).

    Thanks!:o

I'd like to take part for the first time! We have a lot of staples in, so it's just fresh things and a few odd bits we'll need. I'm going to set us a budget of £50!

Hi Risng from the ashes I don't mind you using me as an example at all :D and welcome too..

As dh gets paid on the 19th this is better for me to run my month from then onwards, so I started my 'August GC' on 19th July, it is easier for me to do this than say call that July and then I would still be posting on the July one for a couple of weeks when no-one is around. It is a bit awkward and I might try when we move house to start working to a calendar month actually.. I could then dip out for a couple of weeks work on my own weekly challenge and then join in for the full month iyswim....

quintwins sounds like a lovely day to me, which museum did you visit?

I would love to join in on the August challange. I have been thinking about it for a while and feel that now is the time!! I need some holiday spending money for Nov and could do with the extra motivation and support.

Can you put me down for £150 for August?

I live alone but regularly cook for friends and family so I am not too sure how my cash estimation will play out. My freezer is fully stocked and my store cupboards are healthy so here I go.....

morning all, latest spend in t's yesterday of £5.28. They managed to overcharge me twice I got one sorted in store but didn't notice the other one until I got home so I will have to go back today.

Got some cheese for £1.05 reduced so that's gone in the freezer. Never frozen cheese before - I just left it in it's packet is that ok ? Also got some chocolate croissants and rolo yoghurts.

Missus Aka -that sounds like a real challenge you have set yourself and I wish you well with it. Going to pop over to your thread now and have a read :D
