Please can you put me down for £350 this month. Slight increase to take into account the kids being on holiday and no dinner money to pay for.
Already had a Mr A home delivery and a Costco meat shop so just need to update signature which may appear scary being the 1st day of the month. I really need to stick to a meal plan but life gets in the way:o
Best of luck everyone for August:)
February Grocery Challenge £301.46/300

Although I shopped yesterdasy, it was all for this month so I'm counting it in - £34 in MrT. I noticed that the passatta I've been buying at 30p a carton has shot up to 39p. Quite a leap in less than a week. I bought some stuff for freezer - chicken breasts, fish and a bag of sausages as stepsons arrive at the weekend for a week and I think sausage sandwiches might be on the cards.
I'm going to be introducing more veggie meals to my DH. He eats quorn chilli and bolognese now but I don't like using quorn too much so I want to try some veg and pulse based recipes and see how he likes them. We have a Chinese supermarket near us and also an Indian one has opened up so the spices and pulses, rice etc tend to be much cheaper there. I've got quite a stock now of different lentils and chick peas etc so I'll start using them.
Good luck for this month folks.

Please could I be put down for £450 for this month ? I did do the challenge for a few months at the beginning of the year but our spending has started to creep up again so I'm back for more!!
I have started well this week. The kids and I have been shopping this morning. Bought everything we needed for the week (did a mealplan yesterday). Spent £67.85 in total went to L1Dl and Mr T. Did buy a few other bits but those were bits we were after for the garden so not included in this budget.
I did find a couple of good whoopsies for the freezer though so pretty pleased with those. Stocked up on a couple of week's worth of milk, DD's night-time pull ups for a month, and a couple of b-day cards. Also got a new milk cup for DS and some more clothes hangers for the kids. I really object to buying these but I've gotten to the point of not ironing all their clothes as I have no hangers for them, so needs must! I have included all these as household type goods so the food spend itself was pretty low!0 -
hi all
Please put Gintot for £400 again this month. I am going to try to get under this amount though. I have already spent more than I wanted though hey ho.
Have a good month all.

I joined in Feb and quickly fell off the wagon - oops!
So here to try again, trying to get our monthly spend down to £200 or less (it used to be £375, for 2 adults, 1 cat and 1 dog) but to give me a fighting chance can I set this month at £250
Thank you
PP
PS have removed most of dog costs from grocerybudget as he's currently costing us approx £100/month in special diet and prescriptions, but as he's nearly 16 and has been part of the family since he was 8 weeks old I can't really complain.
PPS Off to update my sig:D0 -
Sorry - haven't had time to raed the August posts yet - only just caught up with July's but could I be put down for my usual £450 for August please against which I have already spent about £145. Panicking a bit money wise this month as my car insurance had come through for renewal just before I went on holiday & the cost really seemed to have gone up for no reason. I had put looking for a cheaper quote on my "mental to-do list" to then only forget about it & the £400 has just been deducted in one go from my bank account! I was already feelinga bit skint with the holiday spends & this has really not helped the bank balance this month!
Hope everyone is fine. Hello, may I join in please?
Have been wanting to join for a while - have kept a couple of months receipts at the begining of year but never actually got round to submitting a monthly budget.:o
Please could you put Debbiedeejay down for
£225
This will be for food, pet food and cleaning stuff.
Have a nomadic family of teens,B/F's,family & friends - never know who is going to be around for meals(on average 3 plus doggie!) but my average monthly spend was £250 so it's just a small step me thinks.
Also just downsized chest freezer to smaller under counter freezer - this is jammed packed rather than having half full chest freezer so hopefully no more waste in electricity or lost food.
Already a spend to decare of £42.27 in Morri$on$ for weekly shop which I was NOT happy with.
But I am looking forward to this challengeCrazy Clothes Challenge 2012 £57.20/£100,CCC 2013 £68.67/£100 ,CCC 2014 £94.32/£100

hi everyone,
Have got to go shopping again today, but have a list and I AM sticking to it, even though I'll have DH and both children with me so wish me luckhopefully what I get today should last a while as we shouldn't need that much this week as the kids are staying at my parents for a couple of days and I'm pretty sure that even though they're only 4 and 6 they consume a lot more than DH and I :rotfl:
