  • Why is it when you feel under the weather all good intentions go out of the window??

Did my shopping with Dad on Friday and was happy enough that it came to £27.88 in Mr M'son - but had n't bought all that I really needed due to feeling yukky so had topped up in town on Sat so spent another £9 in Iccyland and £13 in market - fair enough.

But today DD3 has invited a mate over to stay and requested if they could have a Mr M'sons counter salad and bread for tea as a treat.
And me still feeling under weather agreed like a muppet- they choose their salad and bread but somehow persuded me to buy a roast chicken (for mate, not DD3 as shes veggie, plus I would eat it too and use rest for packup) and cream cakes too, to which mate chooses the £2 choccy deluxe muffin whatever cheesecake slices and DD3 gets pack of 2 vanilla slices at £1.09. Apparently mate didn't like anything else:mad: - DD3 noticed I looked horrified and was quiet embarassed by her mates choice - poor thing.
Anyway got some bread and milk too plus a multi pack of diet coke for me to take to work - but have drunk 2 already and D3 mate has had one too, so that was an extra £15.58 I hadn't bargained to spend - so total for this weeks spends is

£65.46 - already undated my signature to show this - am unhappy bunny now.

Debbiedeejay did you look like your avvy when the mate picked the (scrummy sounding though) cake!! Well at least you can think that your dd and her mate feel well and truly treated and I bet if you weren't on a GC you would have spent more on other things as you went around.....

NSD today, me and dh had leftovers from our curry takeaway on Sat night and the kids had chilli from the freezer with savoury rice and cheese in wraps...am hoping for another nsd tomorrow, think the milk and bread should stretch till Wednesday when I will need to top up as out of yogurts and bananas now too..

    Evening all! :)

    Yeay! Welcome back Hippeechiq
Am now up to £130.59 from this month's budget - am ok with that amount. We go away on Sunday, so we're on a mission to use up fresh things (Particularly those which can't be frozen!) I may need a samll loaf and a bottle of milk before then - but am hoping we'll have enough with things in the freezer. DH doesn't want to take food away :( I shall put a few tins and packets in at least! (Inc cereals) - he's planning on spending loads eating out!! :(:(

That aside, we are awash with loads of potatoes from the garden. No red tomatoes yet - but plenty of green ones. Plenty of salad leaves still around (despite the slugs!) and runner beans and courgettes coming into their own now. WE also have aubergines (teeny) and peppers and onions and some (teeny) carrots too - and (I think) some chillis. Plums are ripening - picked some today and lots of pears (HUGE) and eating apples. My mum is keeping me supplied with cooking apples and I'll go blackberrying later this week (and maybe get some apples, too, and possibly some cherry plums) I want to make plum jam (just started the last jar from last year) but think I'll have to do that after hols - loads on this week.

My weekend shop was £19.77. Went to Sainsbugs as I had a £2 off £20 spend voucher. I think I'm going to have to go back to online shopping as I managed to pull a muscle in my back trying to get home with my shopping on the bus.
