  • Flat Eric, i suppose it depends how many you are buying for, what you have in stock really. I can get through the month on very little, theoretically, but i just cannot stop buying when i see a bargain. If you did alright on £600, you could maybe try £500 this month with a bit of meal planning. Good luck

have taken a raincheck on the cake - having a nice lazy day instead. I don't think I shall move from the sofa once I settle myself there....

Visited the local co$tcutter this morning and spent about £17 - this included 4 packs of bird$ eye chicken pieces that were on offer, bacon and rolls for breakfast today and some other random bits including 6 tins of heinz bean$ for £1.99! So a spend of £17 as opposed to the £110.00 spend i had planned from Mr T. I have ordered mom's family planner diary - 18 month calendar from Ama7on and plan to meal plan in this - If I stick with it - I shall come the end of next year, have 18 months of meal plans!

    happy sunday all :j

Planning on trying these this afternoon -

Does anyone know whether they would freeze ok?

I have been gifted a ton of marrows and courgettes so need to find ways of using them up while covering the taste as DH and kiddies aren't keen!!
  • Thankyou to everyone who has suggested a use for my bag of green lentils. They all look yummy!

  • Hi all,
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I have to update my signature, spent £19 in butchers and £70 in Mr T. I don't really like mr T but had a £10 off £70 spend and £13 in vouchers so bit the bullet and bought stuff like washing powder, store cupboard bits and bobs and wine:o.
However, have now done a menu plan for next couple of weeks and we shouldn't need too much to top up, but think grandkids are staying over for a couple of days, so between them and the walking talking eating machine of my darling son i may yet have to buy some more.

It's pretty miserable here weather wise so think i should get myself sorted and do some batch cooking.

Hugs and good luck to all x

    Cooooeeee everyone

I hope everyone is well :)

Not been around for a couple of months - real life demanded I take a break.

I have been continuing to do the GC on my own though, and have updated my siggy.......over for the past 2 months, but I'm finding it increasingly difficult to come in on budget with prices soaring, especially when my budget is £35 a month less than it was a year ago, when prices have probably gone up £35 a month in a year......well, slight exaggeration maybe, but you know what I mean ;)

So MRS MCAWBER, could you please add Hippeechiq for £240 for August and I look forward to rejoining you all for the August challenge.

    Good Luck everyone :)

:jgood to see you posting Hippeechiq, you have been missed.

I am up to £117.99 of my £300. Bulk buying coffee (on offer, Amazon) and cat biscuits (10%, quidco and a multi buy discount made it £73 for 20kg of royal canin mature) hasn't helped.

Quick trip to the co-op for milk, butter on 2 for £2.50, harvest chewees and penguins for packed lunches for holiday club on BOGOF. None of it strictly essential so tutting at myself.

    ditto to that! ;)

And Ditto, ditto to that! :T Oh just realised that my quote only included the welcome to miaoww & not the comment re Hippeechiq so "welcome miaoww & WELCOME BACK HIPPEECHIQ!"

I am feeling quite pleased with myself as I needed ham, bread & milk & some fruit really and I did consider going to a biggish Mr T with a £5 off £40 voucher from the newspaper but for the first time ever, I thought to myself "Well the things that I need don't come to anywere near that amount so why go & spend that amount unnecessarily?" So I went to the local Mr T Express & spent £8.54 which included 3 milks for £3, some whoopsied flowers for 75p, 2 lots of ham for £3, 2 bananas, a punnet of nectarines for £1 and a bag of whoopsied gala apples for 28p. Oh a loaf of bread for 15p. I then went onto the Co Op where I got 2 Hovis loaves for 19p each, 6 floury baps for 11p, 4 big baps for 11p, 10 white finger rolls for 15p, 6 mini doughnuts for 38p, 2 avocados for 75p, half a cucumber for 25p and a chocolate fridge dessert for 20p, totalling £2.33 so all in all a pretty good shop!

I may however go back in the co op this week to get another lot of the Ariel gel that is on sale at £4 as opposed to £7 normally.
