Good morning everyone,
rain pouring down here. So glad I tidied up the garden yesterday afternoon. Went into town in the morning to order sister's b/d gift and while in M$S I strolled around the food section. Picked up quite a few yellow stickered items. May be my imagination but I think M$S are having more whoopsies these days, never remember so many in the past. All the better for us bargain hunters.
Having boiled ham (from freezer), garden potatoes and cabbage for dinner. So another nsd.
Welcome to all newbies and "returnees".Hope you all have a frugal and fruitful day.It takes a long time to eat an elephant and I'm doing it a bite at a time!!!0 -

Popped into Te$cos yesterday for some bread from the fresh bakery. Spent £4.71 in there, ended up with more things than I intended to pick up. They had a huge round fresh loaf of sourdough, my bread weakness especially since I'm clueless as to how to make it myself, which OH and I polished off the same day by making chicken and sweetcorn soup and using the bread as a bowl.:D
3 more NSDs as well.:cool:Dec GC; £208.79/£220

hi..
just thought i would update you all as to how badly this week is going for me!
i havent been able to stay at my flat for the last 2 days as there were really bad riots in croydon where i live. so we had about 5 minutes to pack a bag on monday night and get out - just enough time to grab some clean undies and feed my fish!
so last 2 days have been staying at OH family home, which is empty as family are away on holiday. so all my lovely bargain food and fresh stuff is sitting in my fridge at home going bad, while i have had to stop at petrol garages/sweet shops to get food and drink for us! i havent been able to make lunch for work or anything!
so, must of spend £20 unnecessarily at least
anyway, should be back home tonight hopefully, so all is not lost.
i hope everyone else affected my riots is staying safe x0 -

I used to hate stoning plums and damsons are much worse! I used to stone them all before I started, wrap the stones in muslin and dangle them from a piece of string tied to the handle so the pectin in the stones helped the jam set. Is this how you do yours?
I'm feeling a jam-making session coming on........i havent been able to stay at my flat for the last 2 days as there were really bad riots in croydon where i live. so we had about 5 minutes to pack a bag on monday night and get out
the main thing is you're safe! Please take care, and ditto to anyone else in troubled areas... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Yes ditto, rosieben.
I went to the Co Op this morning to get some veg & also got another Arielexcel gel so in total another £7.92 spent. I am actually running out of quitea few things like kitchen roll, mouthwash, ham, cheese & potatoes and think that I will actually be able to put my £6 off £40 Mr T voucher to good use.
