    My achievements for 2006:

    * Woke up to mounting debts in time to do something about it
    * Started making extra cash from surveys, quidco, pigsback
    * Realised that using a meal planner and shopping list dramatically reduced our expenses.
    * Just won a huge hamper in a raffle! mmmmmmmmmm goodies galore

    My goals for 2007
    * Claim back my bank charges, just about to send further letter to bank who refused initial request
    * Use money from second job to pay off £7000 loan shaving 2 years off the repayments
    * Stick to my motto's when buying 'Do you need it or want it? If you need it can it wait until next week/month? Can you buy it cheaper?' and ' Look for bargins, its my money so I want it in my account not the shops'.
    * Start saving properly.

Thanks to everyone that supports and gives excellent advice.

    Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays

    Great thread!

    My 2006 achievements:
Lightbulb fully on in May, after months of flickering.
    All debt shifted to 0%.
Finally grasped the point of above shift - ie: have not spent on new CCs.
Have cleared a substantial chunk off debt.
Examined my spending habits by means of spending diary, and now shop mindfully and responsibly. I now make a big effort to find the lowest price for the things I do decide to buy.
Christmas all paid for with real money.
Discovered: Lidl, Aldi, Morrisons, Costco, & Quidco.

    Goals for 2007:
To be debt free by Christmas. (Can't wait!)
    To continue shopping mindfully.
To accrue some savings for the first time in my adult life.
