2006 has been a defining money year for us:
Achievements 2006
1. Lightbulb moment in January and finally facing up to our monster debt
2. Not falling apart when we found out the correct figure
3. Paying off 20K in 11 months
4. Not using credit cards and Saving Money
Goals 2007:
1. Enjoy our holiday in March
2. Not to use cc's on holiday and stick to our budget
3. Budget, budget, budget through out the year
4. Pay off another 15KDebtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0 -

Achievements 2006
1) Paid off almost 10 thousand smackeroonies!
2) Reclaimed 1'000 of bank charges
3) Went to Thailand for 2 weeks and didnt use one 'debt card' to pay for anything!
Goals for 2007
1) Pay off another 10 grand :rolleyes:
2) Reclaim credit card charges
3) Go on holiday again without using a 'debt card'!

2. Transferring credit card debt onto interest free card.
3. Cooking at home more often, eating out less, not having take-aways.
4. Making a budget and sticking to it, and keeping a spending diary.
5. Going to the pub less often, and drinking less when I do.
6. Giving up smoking.
Goals for 2007:
1. Start mystery shopping to make some extra cash.
2. Reclaim bank charges
3. Start saving
4. Have paid off at least half of my current debt.

Achievements of 2006- Clearing over £6,000 worth of debt.
- Managing to come through a very difficult year.
- Setting up a charity in memory of my nephew and raising over £1,000 in a few months.
Goals for 2007- Stick to my new debt-clearing plan.
- Claim back my bank charges.
- Have a happier 2007.

Achievements for 2006- Started to cook!
- Reduced total debt to under £20,000
- Bought Christmas presents without spending on my debt cards
- Learnt how to budget (although am rubbish at keeping it!)
Goals for 2007- To pay off credit card, leaving just the loan
- Pay half of the loan off
- Stick to better budgeting!
- Don't leave the buying of xmas presents till December
- Learn more cooking skills

- Set up "budget" accounts so that there are no nasty surprises to find money for (like the car MOT, the tax bill, Christmas...

achievements for 2006
1- having my lightbulb moment in august after finding mse! cheers :money:
2- paying off my overdraft with the bank and rearranging my debts to make it more manageable
3- actually managing to (mostly) stick to a budget, not use cc (too often :eek: ) and not put any of xmas onto credit! :j
aims for 2007
1- clear debt off as early as possible and start saving for my first holiday!
2- start a proper health and fitness regime and stick to it!
3- make myself happy!

Achievements this year:- Completed the job in Turkey; definitely an eye-opener, living over there.
- Found a couple of semi-long-term contracts for my web development.
- Saved £5k! (should hit this before the New Year, if I get this site done.)
Targets for next year:- Find more jobs, and work like a demon (hopefully, I can bring down the amount of sleep I get per day to 3-4 hours.)
- Save another £10k, which should be enough of a deposit to grab a "good" debt (big chunky mortgage).
- Develop my ideas for fiction novels to.. novel-size. The furthest I've got so far is 3 pages, not so far to go!

Less takeaways, saved money but my bodyshape is unchanged:D

Keep doing all the above and not become complacent!
Change jobs to one that doesnt kn***er my body on a daily basis - maybe something totally different but thats kinda scary!
Keep chipping away at that mortgage by paying extra extras!

Put like that, i've done more than i realised, but they seemed only little steps at the time....and without MSE i wouldnt have done any, so thank you to you all....
