    Bead is lovely maman.

I've tried using sports bottles but they get snaffled and then drunk by the kids!!!!
    1.5 ltr drunk only 500ml to go......but it's still a chore :o

HAving a problem today. Woke up early hours, with terrible lower back pain. The sciatica is back. Struggling to move today. I couldnt do my exercises at all. Have the heat pad on. Sitting with a cushion on my lap so that the laptop is raised.
Yesterday it was the neck and arm that were the worst. !!
Have so many bits of smellies lurking. Must start to use them more regularly thats for sure.
Talking of smellies, its time I attempted to get into the shower. Not sure I can though. Bathboard will have to be used today.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Hello Everyone - I'm still here.

Maman - I love that bead, it's gorgeous, makes a great reward for all your efforts. Good toiletry/make up bargains too. Not sure that we've got a Savers any more.

I'm hoping to go into the city centre next week, there's a big Home Bargains store - that's pretty good for toiletries/household bits/store cupboard essentials like pasta, tinned goods etc - a bit like Wilkinsons.

I saw a recent photo and although I'm looking much better than I did I could definitely do with a better bra, in need of "hoicking up":rotfl:. My intention is to have a few hours mooching around the shops, spot of lunch etc and get measured up for a new bra.

Mooloo - sorry to hear you are struggling with sciatica - that is so painful. Take it easy for a while (don't suppose you've got much choice really).

Well took OH into his nursing home for respite, they had a summer fete this afternoon so stayed for that. Will pop round in the morning and see how he is settling in.

The beauty of this home is that it's only a 5 minute drive away so can pop in and out at will.

I've no great plans for next week - apart from filling the skip. I intend to give OH's bedroom a lick of paint to freshen it up.

The house is a tip and I have really been neglecting my Fab routines. My healthy eating has also flown out of the window the last day or so.

So my intention is to basically just catch up with myself this week. Kick start the exercise and beauty routines into gear, give the house a good clean, crack on with some decluttering.

I did think of going away for a few days but can't really be bothered at the moment. Maybe next time. For now I will be quite happy just pottering about and catching up with myself.

DS2 going out this evening, so a nice easy dinner and maybe a girly DVD. I shall sit in my tip of a house and close my eyes to the mess. One night won't hurt.;)

Hope you are all well -- have a great weekend. x
  • Evening ladies,

I have really enjoyed this thread. Many thanks for all those who have contributed so well, such an inspiration to a lack lustre 42 year old who only makes an effort for the odd night out. When I say odd I mean odd, averaging every 3 to 4 months.

What I am achieving regularly is painted nails and toe nails. Make up to go to work and perfume. What I am trying to achieve is better regular beauty routines as I have absolutely oodles of beauty stuff, that needs to be used up. I would probably look a whole lot better if I was using some of them rather than looking at them in the cupboard.

Had a treatment night tonight, good soak in the bath. Exfoliated, face mask and hair mask, feet sanded then slathered myself in body butter. The feet have a way to go but they are getting there.

LL hope the respite goes well for you as well as the decluttering.

Mooloo can I suggest some accupressure for the sciatica. Get a tennis ball or your fist and place it where it is most painful at the base of your spine, by your hip. Gently start putting pressure on, then increase till the pressure turns off the pain receptors. One of the few things that helped me when I was at my worst.

    Onwards ladies xx

  • Just dropping by with hugs for LL and a general thank you for everyone, I love this thread. I am in the midst of a huge decluttering thing at the moment but managing to moisturise and shave legs. toes need painting and hands need a decent cream but will see after the declutteringness.

A few years ago, I did an Alexander Technique evening class, and when my partner had a sciatica attack, with my prompting...'cos at first, he didn't think it would work....I'd help him get into the supine position:-

It's REALLY easy to do, realignes your spine, and at the end of the class, lots of people would drift off to sleep!!!LOL

But seriously it's EXCELLENT for relieving back ache/pains/sciatica

    Good morning all

Hi Clara - welcome to Frump to Fab. Glad you are enjoying this thread, I am too.:Dr It definitely helps to keep me on track. You sound as if you are very organised and are doing very well with your fab routines.

Well last night I did absolutely nothing. Watched "The Duchess". I've got the DVD - but I understand that it's on the box one day this week - that is what reminded me about the film. Can thoroughly recommend it.

For those who don't know anything about her - she was a Spencer - one of Princess Diana's ancestors. The parallels between Georgiana and Diana's lives are quite staggering and bear out that old adage about history repeating itself. Anyway I thoroughly enjoyed watching it.

I love history and as she married the Duke of Devonshire - one of our local aristos - they own Chatsworth - I found it especially interesting.

It's a lovely day here - lots of washing, a bit of tidying and then a bit of beautifying before a trip to B&Q for some paint and then visit OH.

This morning will be a deep cleansing face mask. eyebrow tidy, mini manicure, soak in the bath to ease my old bones and then a good slathering. Last night managed a cuticle soak and vaseline to knees elbows and feet. They were like sandpaper - I've really neglected myself the last couple of weeks - been so busy with OH. Hey ho can't be helped sometimes - onwards and upwards.!!

    The rot stops now.:D

I've been a bit lazy with the exercising this week and my hip has really noticed, it's stiff and has been painful for a couple of days. I've also been really anti-social which is why I haven't posted on here much.

I've kept up with the body lotion, foot filing and perfume spraying though :D

I've been drinking more water and the garden is finally ripening so I've been munching on picked-two-minutes-ago veg - mostly spinach, beetroot, potatoes and tomatoes.

Miss tru bought me some peel-off face masks in individual sachets for my birthday (back in march!), I used two then forgot I had them. So I'll be using one of those this morning.

Lazy day today, then back to a proper routine tomorrow :D

Just a quick post and then I'm off for a walk. I've slipped badly this week but did manage a little yesterday. This was on the way to football as DH is a fast walker and over the years I've learned to keep up!

I've read the book about Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire. It was a best seller some years ago but I didn't know it had been made into a film. I must look out for it in the week. Glad to hear you're putting your feet up LL (and well Vaselined feet at that;)). On the football front, DH and I each had colleagues who were Rams fans (one from Ilkeston and one from Buxton). We always teased them by saying we knew the 'other Derby County supporter'. Now both teams are top of the league but my team is ahead by just one goal!! Happy days!

It's dull but dry here so good enough for a quick walk. Later I'm going to do some OCM with my new bottle of castor oil. Skymist, I had a look at that link to the Alexandra technique and it seemed so simple but effective. I'm going to give it a go. My posture is generally good but I want to keep it that way. Hope you aren't in too much pain today mooloo.

    Back later.....

LL - I've got a book about her life and also the film :) You're quite right about parallels in their lives.

Tru - feeling pretty similar actually, this past week has been really hard generally. Kids still waking, cat still asking to go out at 4am (although she now has a shiny new cat flap :)), just generally want to eat carp, fed up of everything really :o Fed up trying to get fitter, get slimmer - I just don't have the energy :( Here's hoping our holiday makes my mojo come back. Although the BBC weather is showing rain for the first two days. We've gone with pretty much minimal rain here since Easter (I kid you not) and the one and only holiday we're having this year and it's probably going to p!ss it down.

Sorry head still not in a good place :o Back still giving me grief and just feel run down.
    Sorry for the whinge :o
