Good morning Everyone
Woke up nice and early today, am all bathed and fragrant and ready to go. Off to physio, then B&Q, then a little mooch around my favourite CS shop. YMCA - the one that sells furniture. I've been lusting after a writing bureau to shabby chic, will keep looking and will find it one day.
Had to smile as I was dressing - get this, total ensemble - undies excepted £13.
Black leather loafers - 3yrs old, £10
Black leather Fiorelli bag, CS £2
Grey straight leg Cotton Traders chinos - CS £1
Dusky pink top, matching grey/pink cardi - Per Una - Freebie from mums neighbour
What a cheapskate :rotfl:
Have a good day, everyone
I've put the washing out - not sure if that was a good idea.0 -
Nothing wrong with not spending ridiculous amounts of money on clothes, LL. I wish there were more charity shops where I am, but the City doesn't seem to contain a large amount of them, otherwise I'd be skint
Just ate some of the remains of last night's Indian takeaway. Bombay aloo...hmmmHSBC Credit Card £608.69, HSBC Overdraft: £4123.67, HSBC Loan: £8,270.69

morning all
thank you for the kind welcomes.
I made an okay start yesterday nand defuzzed my body whilst in the shower. Bought a new hair dye in town as its 7 weeks since I did my last colour so will need doing in the next couple of weeks and at least I will have the dye when I get a chance to do it.
Had a fairly healthy eating day yesterday and a bit of exercise pushing the pram around town.
Meeting friends for lunch today so have showered and dressed and when DS falls asleep I will get my hair and make up done.
Need to do an audit of my toiletries so I know what I have. Did one about 2 years ago but have used stuff since then.0 -
Just a quick visit to share my good news. Weigh in at SW today and I lost 3.5lbs and reached my target weight!:j:D I really wasn't expecting it so I am extra delighted.
Planning to help DD1 pack her good crockery this afternoon (she collects Emma Bridgewater so wants to take extra special care, I'm honoured she's trusting me!).
phoenix_dragon, CSs always seem to be in suburban centres and small towns rather than main city shopping centres. It's a sad sign of the times that what used to be thriving little shopping areas have had so many shops close down that the CSs have moved in to empty premises.0 -
Well done Maman :j:j:j:j
I am sooooo pleased for you. You've obviously worked hard and really deserve your success.
I've lost 1lb so getting there. There's been a bit of a mix up with my bank payment for WW, so what with one thing and another, I haven't been for a week or two. I've been trying to stay on track and do it by myself so I feel quite pleased with myself.
The next couple of Thursdays will be physio but will probably rejoin WW after my course of treatments have finished.
Not much joy with the CS this morning and couldn't face the supermarket or B&Q - tomorrow. Have to nip out to take my library books back later. Carer has taken OH to Costco so will grab a coffee and (healthy) snack and then get cracking with some phone calls and cleaning.
OH's speech was dreadful this morning, he really struggled to communicate, his tremors were very bad too. Is this a temporary blip or yet another slide down to further incapacity. Can definitely see that the rate of decline is speeding up.
I really want him to have one last Christmas here but TBH I don't think we're going to get much longer than that at the rate things are going. I'm going to have to start investigating more homes in case we can't get funding for the one I really want for him.
He has his nursing assessment on Tuesday and I will know more then. His care manager has suggested that there might be some room to negotiate the fees with the home. Fingers crossed.
Anyway my stomach is growling - time for that snack.:rotfl:0 -
Morning all
Jubilee - welcome! Hope you enjoyed the aquafit, the health card sounds like a great idea - I keep wishing I could afford the gym but would definately be more for the classes and swimming then the actual 'gym' part. Am sure the weight will start dropping off soon, I always find it flies off for me when I actually start doing exercise - which is why must get back into my routine again
Skymist - sounds like you are well on the way to fab already! I'm nearer to your son's age and have the stomach flab, bingo wings and def can't pull off skinny jeans :rotfl:Have been veggie for many years and have been up and down weight-wise on it - I suppose it's like anything else you can eat healthy or unhealthy on it. I'm currently trying to put down on the more processed kind of meals and I think it is helping. Like you said it's more about what you feel comfortable with and what works for you.
LL - I could do with a skip! Have been looking on the council website to try and get them to take away a small sofa I don't want and is going to cost me £20  most unimpressed! Hope you enjoyed your curry :rotfl:definately something I would do. Your outfit sounds lovely and very MSEIt always makes me smile when people compliment me on something I'm wearing that's come from a CS - gives me a nice smug feeling
Mrs W - glad the new office seems to be agreeing with you. Regarding concealers, have you tried the Bobbi Brown ones, haven't myself but some friends swear by them and they do free demonstrations if you have a counter anywhere near you. That's kind of what I'm thinking with the drawing - that people might want to buy portraits of family, kids, even pets. If you want to send me piccies feel freeam thinking that am going to start asking family/friends etc so I can get some practice in and see how they come out and what people think.
Phoenix - moisturised and hydrated is probably the best thing at the moment, hope LO isn't discoing all night :rotfl:
Lolly - sounds like you're doing great! yay on the weight loss :T 1lb is still a 1lb and often you fine if it comes off at a slow and steady rate then it stays off much easier. Making money from something I actually enjoy is definately what I'm trying to aim for. I'm hoping if I try a few different things then I might get a little bit from all of them and it will all balance out to a regular income. Also I'm a complete believer in the fact that everyone has things they can good at - so if you don't think you do then you just must not have found them yet!
Maman - I wimped out on a walk yesterday as well, was horrible here and got soaked just going straight home! Sounds like you had a really productive day, and glad DD is getting all sorted now.
Lizzie - sounds like you are doing brilliantly :T I quite fancy trying Zumba so might have a look for some on Youtube - have a bit of a feeling that if I went to a class straight away would be falling over my feet as it does look rather fast
Maisie - sounds like a great start! Think I might have to pick up a hair-dye this week, had one on about a month ago and has lasted quite well but can see it's faded now. Not sure what colour though...
Did a bit of doodling last night but not as much as I wanted. OH wasn't feeling very well and kept getting in the way (I'm an awful gf aren't I?) Was just annoyed as he was on the sofa with a blanket while I came in so said I would go in the bedroom and give him some peace. Half an hour later he follows me in there and lies there all night. All my sketching stuff is in there and my computer that I was getting piccies off so was finding it very hard to work round him *sighs* Had a fairly healthy tea but again no exercise - cause my exercise stuff is in the bedroom as well  I'm trying to think more about how to make stuff like the photography and drawing into a kind of business - am really not very good at the practical side of things, like how to market it and how I would actually get work from it.

Hey Everyone!
Not had a chance to do any pampering today, most of the day has been spent eating (everything in sight - one of those days where I just can't stop eating!), and putting together DS1's new bike - it took forever!
Maman - Congratulations on the amazing loss, and on reaching target!!! :j:j:j
Lizzie - You've inspired me with your Zumba efforts :T, I'm going to get a zumba workout done on the wii tonight! I've only used it twice, it's so fast I just can't keep up (I'm not very co-ordinated at the best of times!). I keep meaning to go through the tutorials and learn the moves, but I always think that I should be spending any spare time actually exercising, rather than just learning how to exercise!
PP - Thanks, I guess I am probably good at some things - just not very interesting or profitable things, lol.
Regarding your sofa, don't pay them to take it away - my mum recently got rid of her old one, a furniture scheme took it - really suprised anyone would want it as it was at least 20 years old, faded, and generally pretty tatty looking! If she can get hers taken away for free then I'm sure you can! Is eBay an option? If not, then maybe a CS that sells furniture, or even Freecycle?
See you all later...0 -

podperson, lolly101 just beat me to it with her suggestion!

WELL DONE Maman....I'm delighted to read that you've reached your goal!!!
As for the weather....did summer happen at all this year? I must have missed it when I blinked!!! It's soooo hard to know what to wear from hour to hour, let alone day to day!!! Still it looks like Autumn is starting to trip through the plants and trees, with masses of nuts, seeds and berries already starting to form...so probably not before the winter woolies are resurrected!!!
With regard to the Miss Sporty nail varnish...I can only recommend the metallic colours for their longevity. I've never tried the non-metallic ones, so don't know if they have the same staying power!
LL, I've finally managed to put a brake on my CS hunter/gathering!!! So much stuff, so little space, TOO littlle self control!! But, on a good sunny day it does give a walk the promise of a reward, along with the exercise benefits (of course)!! I also love that feeling that you get inside when some-one admires your CS find, and you know how little it cost you...that can be quite a buzz! Well done on your disappearing pound too!!
Hope all you lovely ladies have had a good day, and now enjoy a restful, peaceful evening.

Thanks guys, might give them a try tomorrow. It's not in great condition so have to admit didn't really think anyone would want it
Is annoying because got given it with some other items from OHs aunt shortly after we moved in and didn't want to be rude and say I didn't want it but I hated it straight away - she said on the phone it had one small mark and actually it's a few fairly obvious stains. I have a cover on it in the back room but it's just taking up space really.
Got off the bus on the way home and the CS there was open late so ended up just popping in and then coming out with 2 tops. Was quite brave and got 14s - one fits perfectly, one does technically fit but might leave until I lose a little more as I think it's meant to be more floaty and is a big snug round the middle on me.Was grumbling about how CS's are so much more expensive then they used to be (paid about £9 for the 2) but didn't realise until I got home that one was Red Herring and one John Rocha - think I must secretly have expensive tastes :rotfl:
Maman - must have cross-posted with you earlier as totally missed you making your target - big congrats :T:j :j0
