Ooh, that sounds just what I've been looking for - what brand & colour is it?

It's Miss Sporty (:rotfl:get me!) which I see is made by Coty (didn't think they existed any more) and the colour is chocolate. It was £2+, maybe £2.50. I'm so pleased I might go back and get another colour(s).

    Hello Ladies and Lurkers!

First a warm welcome to Maisie and Jubilee! so nice to see more people joining in!

Lol @ the spag-bol/curry mix up LL- it happens often enough in this house too :) re the lampshades, I really think they look lovely up- you certainly wouldn't think they had been such a bargain- if you do have a wilko's near you pop in and have a browse, they do have some gems in there.

PP- I know what you mean about missing Wilko's my home town had one in and I was very dissapointed when I found they didn't have one here- but 10yrs later they FINALLY have one yay! Just in time for filling my first home:) I'm jealous of your sketching skills! and the writer's workshop sounds like fun too- just a thought but a sketch of a loved one would make a lovely christmas pressie I'm sure- I know my MIL would LOVE one of her and our little neice- is that something you could explore?...if you need pics to practice let me know;)

I'm another one for changing into comfy clothes as soon as I get home Skymist- but I was brought up to do that we always had "house" clothes and we always had to change into these as soon as we got home from school- it was just what you did- actually back in Mauritius they always do that too...hmmm though that tends to be loose beach dresses round the house...

I can see what you mean about the blue Bratz- can be a bit wintry I suppose, I love having red in my hair but as my hair is so dark is means bleaching first then dying and I decided this year I wanted to not use bleach on my hair at all to see if the condition improved at all, have to say my hair IS looking a lot healthier ...although as I am deep conditioning/ using no/low sulphates and doing to occasional lime wash that may not have too much to do with the dyeing....

Hi Carmen:wave: thanks for asking- things are still going good so far- none of the awful coughing and choking haven't really coughed at all really- which is amazing considering quite how bad it had been- even with the humidifier/olbas oil/strong mints I was often coughing so hard I'd be sick and on occasion bring up blood...now nothing the humidifier will be going home as there is no need for it anymore...

pulled together a tasty quick risotto style dish yesterday using Orzo pasta (shaped like rice and v yummy) pulled the last of the roast chicken, threw in pan with garlic, added musrooms and lots of leeks dash of stock and a little creme fraiche it was Yummy- and not too unhealthy I think- not bad for a last minute experiment I must say:D

not much exercise, unless lugging the brewing barrell around counts:D plum wine is now on to stage 2!

I did do a lovely steam with rosemary and tea tree oil and then a scrub and face mask and then chilled out with DH...i do love those evenings when we have time for a chat and a cuddle on the sofa:)

    plan for today-
    1) use body scrub and then slathering of moisturiser
    2)defuzz
    3) do some deep stretching
    4) Paint my nails

right need to go and hunt for a good concealer for dark skin tones....the search that never ends:mad:

hope everyone is having a good day!

  • Good afternoon all! Hope you've all had a fantastic day. I missed the Hoarder last night, but I'll look it up tonight (hopefully it'll inspire DH to throw away some stuff, or sell it or anything.)

Not doing much in the way of grooming at the moment, but I am keeping moisturised, hydrated and well fed, so I feel pretty good. The bean has just woken up and seems to be having a disco in my womb :D

I wear Miss Sporty, in gold and silver, and can vouch for their durability/long-lastingness (is there such a word?). I've worn both, and they've lasted for up to TWO weeks without chipping! I bought mine a few weeks back when they were 3 for £5, but just had a look and they're now £1.99 each, or 2 for £2.99 plus 10 points at Superdrug!

    Hey Everyone,

Been really busy for the last couple of days so not had time to post, looking forward to getting a little bit of me time… if the kids will allow it!

Bitsy - Thanks for the info on the electric toothbrush :), I've been considering getting one for a while so will look into it.

PP - Making money from drawing is a fab idea!!! :) I would love to be able to make money from doing something that I find enjoyable... I'm just not that good at anything, lol.
Oh, and yes the Silky mits will be the same thing you tried - they are sandpaper!

LL - Very interesting to hear that turmeric can be used as an anti-inflammatory treatment, and it's great that you have found a suitable alternative for the standard meds. :) As for the cross trainer - I've had three, and imo they are all pretty much the same, so I would probably just look on ebay for a cheap one locally.

Mrs W - Yes, I'm really getting into it now. Your living room sounds fab! Wilko's have some lovely things nowadays, and at some lovely prices!!! :D

Mooloo - Great find with the No7 stuff! :T

Maisie - Welcome to the thread! I had a similar experience following the birth of DS1 (almost 7!), everything kind of slipped by the wayside. Sounds like life is good now though - congratulations on the wedding and the baby! :j I've got a beauty stash too (a huge drawer at the bottom of the wardrobe that is bursting at the seams!), keep meaning to do a stock check, might manage it at the weekend!

Jubilee - Welcome to the thread! :j Sounds like you've made a great start by getting the pass and starting classes!

P_D - The bean sounds just like my DS1 was... do these discos run until 2am like my DS's did? :rotfl: Well done on keeping hydrated, that is something I always forget about! :)

Well I've been wearing perfume everyday and remembering to re-spray throughout the day, I've also been washing my face with a proper cleanser and moisturising each time. Think I'm going to do a face mask tonight and will have a (long overdue!) manicure and pedicure tomorrow.

It's weigh in day on one of my other threads, I've lost 1 lb :). Not much, but I've not been very active this week so am lucky to get that!

We're on holiday again next week so I have got a couple of tasks to do before then...

1 - Dye my hair - We're only going to the sea side this time so don't have to worry about the weather affecting it! :p

2 - Build up a bit of colour using one of those gradual tanners (never mastered fake-tan, so that's not an option!).

I may add more later, but can't think of anything else at the mo.

Have a good holiday when it comes lolly. I like those tanning creams too. I'd be scared to turn out orange with a fake tan. I mix some with body lotion/moisturiser and put a little on after every shower. And well done on the 1lb loss. I'd be delighted if I could manage that I seem to have ground to a halt lately.:(

I was full of plans for a walk today but the weather turned nasty and it's tipping down tomorrow so I rather wimped out.:o Weekend looks better so I'll play catch-up then.

I got on well with my clearing up today. I emptied all the drawers I wanted to and that had the knock on effect of sorting out a few other places to find new homes for the things I wanted to keep. More stuff for the CS which I decided to take there straight away. Not very mse (I took the car) but it felt really good to clear it out. Interesting chat about 'house-clothes' earlier. I did have some (mostly old work trousers) but they got binned as they were falling apart and falling off.:rotfl:Some winter trousers went to the CS today (cords etc) so I'm just going to have to buy more.:D

DD1 feeling much better about her house move. She's done a fair bit of packing/sorting already and today took a few hours break and made some lovely hand-crafted 'new address' cards. Good to see her happy and enjoying herself. Contracts have been exchanged and she'll have the keys next Tuesday. As it's still notice period for her rental she'll probably move in over Bank Holiday. I'm going to offer her a few hours packing tomorrow if she needs me. Probably be back in the CS again!;)

    Sleep well all.

P.S. Where are my manners??:o Welcome jubilee, good to have you join us.

@MrsWolfe yes I've to bleach my hair first too as it's dark (even for the blue) but thankfully because I condition a lot and take vitamins and generally have good hair it's in grand condition. It is due a trim which I've booked for Tuesday.
It's hasn't been trimmed since December as I've been trying to grow it, and it's a new salon as I've moved, so I just hope she doesn't take too much off.

Thanks for the mentions of miss sporty nail polish too - I find no matter what nail polish I use it chips, usually within a day. I don't know if it's because I work in IT and am typing on a keyboard all day, or I'm a geck at putting it on or what, but I might try the miss sporty and see if it lasts any longer.

welcome to all the newbies :hello:

interesting about the house clothes I tend to wear combat pants for comfort in the house, as I'm frequently dog walking etc they seem to be the best option- I get them off ebay- so quite MSE. If I go out and then don't change before I start on tea or cleaning you can guarantee I drop something down myself.

On the hoarding didn't see the prog but know I need to be a bit more ruthless on this - did manage to sort out DS3's room -if you remember -which does seem to be stayimg that wat at moment. DD2 did her own sort through yesterday and threw a bag of stuff so thats made it abit easier for me - need to get her some shelves up.

re- nails I always use a clear polish on top of the colour - actually underneath aswell since I ended up with discoloured toe nails due to the coloured polish and had to wait til it grew out before using nail polish again. I don't use the proper base or top coat just aquick drying clear polish, and if you want it to last even longer just put an extra layer on the day after you've done the nails as extra re inforcement. :)

Miss Sporty's a great cheap make -up range I have some nail polishes and eyeliner's.

Have been quite good this week with the routines.
Had a bath using my lovely smelling salt scrub with oils which leaves my skin really soft and means I don't need to moisturise after- I bought this one but plan to have ago at making my own when it runs out.
have done OCM and bought some of the superdrug cleanser with polish cloth and used that too.
have done exercise found a zumba routine on youtube for abs so used that as well as the wii. Have also made a playlist of some of the routines we do at zumba class (from Youtube) and have done them too.
been trying to eat better and have managed not to eat so much choc - even had some fruit yesterday though I'd sooner eat choc and had to have a bit of squirty cream on it - it was melon and its not my fav fruit tbh :rotfl:
