"Right, I'm off for a lovely warm shower and leg shave, followed by lots of body lotion, foot cream and a squirt of perfume. Then I'm going to attack the triffids in the greenhouse. "
Now thats something I should be doing. But I think I may need to add a soak in the bath first, and then I can miss out as I dont have a greenhouse yet. But my triffid is a huge Yukka in the sitting room. I hate it, but its the only plant I have not killed and is thriving!
Waiting for DGD to go to sleep. then I can clear the bath of all her ducks and get in thier and have a soak.
dont have any of my birthday bathbombs as DGD used them all! She did keep asking, and it kept her amused for about 12 days but now they are all gone.
Back to my dove stuff then.
Think that my grey roots are poking through, and I could really have done with a trip to the hairdressers to sort it, but then I wont have the money to spend on the holiday. So I am in two minds. The sun may affect my hair anyway, and then I will need to re do it when i get back! Perhaps a few headscarves and hats are in order. Going to Portugal afterall. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Tru I have the Geri Halliwell yoga DVDs and her teacher Katy Appleton is really good but it's just Geri that's the irritating bint
Carmen I made the smoothie this morning but I just didn't like it, I only really eat apples and bananas and not very many of those. Just can't take to fruit no matter how it's served
Lolly I bought a Boots Expert rechargeable toothbrush and it's amazing. I am blessed with good teeth (should be a horse lol) but even my mum noticed a difference with using this brush and it was significantly cheaper than the Oral B ones which had one that was over £100 :eek:I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Here we go again
Unfortunately not round the mulberry bush but Social Services, not for OH but this time for mum & dad.
Popped into see them this morning. Dad 85, lung cancer survivor with half a lung missing, several heart attacks under his belt, is
mum's principal carer.
He looked half dead with exhaustion and was exploding with rage every five minutes, mum in floods of tears.
Dad adamanant "they can cope just fine", clearly not. So it's time for sis and I to step in. We've known for a while it was only a matter of time before we had to intervene - it would now appear that the time is now.
Cue 4 telephone calls with SS today, just to get them to go and do an assessment. Beaurocracy:mad::mad:
Never mind - I'm becoming an expert now:rotfl:
So not a lot of me time today, and not much new to report. I just managed a mini manicure and am now steadfastly ignoring the biscuit tin. I could sooo easily succumb right now.Have made do with some plain yogurt and a nectarine, would prefer to munch my way through a pack of kit-kats.:o
I must not give in, I must not give in, I must not give in................
I've got a Barbara Currie yoga DVD and a Lynn Robinson pilates one. They are both very good - think I'll dig 'em out and change my routines.
They do say that it's best to change your exercise routines every so often.
Oooh nearly forgot, my mum's neighbour was having another clearout and has given me 5 bags of stuff - same drill as before - my sister and I are instructed to go through it all, take what we want and then pass the rest on to Scope.
So tomorrow we'll do just that.
Was dark early here tonight - the nights are drawing in, time to start thinking about autumn/winter wardrobes. The charity shops are starting to put out the winter stock, already noticed some party wear in one of our local shops.
Remember the old girl guide motto "Be prepared" - time to start snaffling up those bargains.;)
G'night all x0 -
Nothing wintery in the CS's I visited at the weekend, think its because it is a seaside resort so we should all be wearing summer things!
Appointments all booked for hair cut & roots, manicure, waxing & Minx on my toes before our first-anniversary-honeymoon in 2 weeks
Left my hair to dry loose at the weekend so that feels a bit softer & less frizzy with not using the dryer. No nail varnish on my toes either, as they could do with a bit of fresh air & daylight!
Am on a bit of a downer with work....things have changed in my role over the last 12 months and will change again in the next 4 months...one of the joys of working in local government I guess. No prospect of a transfer to another department as there is a full redeployment list for any vacancy going so will have to stick it out and see how things go. Have been there getting on for 5 years so could do with a change but bearing in mind the economy I am unwilling to make the move elsewhere and have to start afresh - apart from the fact that there is nowhere to go around here.0 -
Sorry to hear your job's not going well floss. Down my way, council workers have been taking strike action on and off for about 3 months because of draconian changes to conditions. It's so tough in the job market at the moment.:( At least you've got your 'honeymoon' to look forward to.
SS must be fed up with the sight and sound of you LLIt's good you have yous sister's support with the parents but it's a problem you could certainly do without. Hope they're not too slow with the assessment.
Bitsy, I'm not a great fruit fan either but I make myself eat some. Personally I prefer veg and if I'm peckish mid-evening I'll even stir-fry a few bits as a healthy snack. I had a sort of bubble&squeak for my lunch today from yesterday's LO veg. It was yummy.
I've already bought a couple of winter bits from CS (two 100% woollen tops) so I'm already on the lookout. It's part of my plan to dress warmly indoors this winter. I think we've got too used to banging up the heating and then walking about in tee shirts. That being said, while today started of really sunny here , it then went overcast and got really chilly. I did brave it out in a skirt but my legs got really cold. I think I'll be looking for woolly tights too and that's just for next week:rotfl:
DD1 signed the contract on her house this morning so that should go through quite soon. She was very down afterwards as I think the enormity of spending so much money hit her. I was very upbeat with her but it left me a bit subdued when she'd gone so I haven't done a great deal today. No walking (but I'm well in credit) but I did have a go at OCM and we ate very healthily. DD1 came round with flowers for me at teatime and seemed much happier so that's good. My house looks like a florist as DH bought me loads at the weekend too plus some gladdies from the garden that were looking a bit bent. So I've definitely got positives to report:)
Mooloo, I definitely need the leg shave too and my feet need attention lolly plus my nails. Jobs for tomorrow!

Morning :hello:
Today's list - all over moisturiser, foot cream, perfume, yoga, pluck eyebrows and file fingernails.
After saying the other day that I sleep well (grateful for that, I had years of bad sleep), I had a rubbish night last night. Never mind, I'll get an early night tonight.
I was really cold this morning, I'm wearing a pair of leggings and a shirt but I had to put a jacket on while eating my breakfast  So tempted to put the heating on for tomorrow morning.
I've printed out my daily jobs and food lists - need to eat a bit more veg and cut down on the bread a bit - but I can't put them in my folder because I can't find the hole punch. If any of you find it, please let me knowBulletproof0 -
Oh, and where did those two hairs on my chin come from?  :eek:Bulletproof0

Carmen, I'm good, mostly lurking. I'm 24 weeks pregnant today, and he's already woken up and is kicking me and doing what feel like back flips.
Ever felt wonderful, vibrant and happy, only to be told by someone that you look "really tired"? I had that yesterday. I replied "Thanks, why don't you tell me how fat I look too?" I said it with a smile on my face, but damn, when will people learn, unless someone looks like they might actually die, keep your mouth shut?!
I should get back into the make up habit...HSBC Credit Card £608.69, HSBC Overdraft: £4123.67, HSBC Loan: £8,270.69
Lloyds Credit Card: £1418.62, Very Account: £518.99, Barclaycard: £126
Total Debt as of 9th June 2020: £15066.660 -
Oh, and where did those two hairs on my chin come from?
I have one coarse hair that I have to pluck.....it's affectionately referred to as "my beard" :rotfl::rotfl:
maman - I have tried fruit but a lot of it makes me gagIts not the taste it's the texture
I've not been eating as much salad lately so really ought to get back into that before summer is over!
LL - Nothing like a bit of red tape to slow things downHope your mum and dad can get the support they clearly need xx

Morning all
Have been feeling a little down this week, think maybe it's a bit of anti-climax after being so busy last week. But then am going to be manic busy again next week as we have our last 2 shows and my brother is coming to visit so I should really just appreciate the peace while it lasts
I've been deep in the procrastination this weekHave realised lately that's something I tend to do in all areas, for example I really don't enjoy my job and I'm always saying I need to work on ways to make money from elsewhere so I can leave - but then I never seem to do anything. Must change that! Have started getting back into drawing again and am wondering about ways I might be able to make a bit from that, eg I've seen people that do family/kids/pet portraits from photographs and that's something I quite enjoy doing anyway. I need to stop faffing and look into the practical side of it!
Fab-wise, again no exercise so bad me - but have been eating a bit better and did have a nice body scrub and condition my hair last night so that's something. Am on a half day at work today as have got tickets to a BBC writer's workshop which am quite excited about going to see. Sorry haven't replied to everyone today, have been reading and sending you all virtual hugs if needed and positive thoughts x0
