Sorry Lizzie - just realised I didn't answer your question about how long it would take before you saw any result with the core exercises.

Well, O Impatient One, what can I say. I found that on average I lost between 0.5" to 1" per week off my waist, whilst the mid section - the space between my bust and waist - not quite sure what you would call that part of the body, firmed up within a few weeks.

I would say that after a month you should notice a significant improvement. If you also remember to work on your posture as well the results will be even more spectacular.

If you enjoy Zumba I would keep up with that too, it looks like a good cardio/fat burning workout. It also looks like fun too. When I'm fit enough I intend to give Zumba a go. I love dancing. Are there any Zumba DVD's? Can you get it for the Wii - I can't really manage a class, they all seem to be in the evening.

Glad you enjoyed the party Buffy. Sorry to hear you're feeling bad about yourself, but hey that's why you are here. Time to make that start.;)

Right I really am off to bed now.:rotfl:

been abscent for a while. Sorry. Too much going on. Am off on holiday in 2 weeks, so bit too late to do much about the figure now. But I will try the core strengthening as best my spine will allow. As I really need to keep as mobile as I can. Have cervical spondylosis so I have to be careful with my neck especially. Been "told off" by my friends on here, for not keeping up with the exercises.
Which gave me a small kick up the proverbial to get back on track.

    morning all.
Sorry I haven't been on for a few days, but think I've caught up with all the news!
I was on lates in work last week (til midnight) then didn't sleep very well and had a busy weekend with little sleep so I am completely shattered. Didn't realise you could actually be this tired and keep going!!

I have been keeping up with my yoga - 5 days last week so I'm pleased. And have my nails nicely painted and makeup on etc so I haven't slipped any. Just too tired to do more than I was if you see what I mean.

My hair is in desperate need of a trim which will have to be in September sometime after payday, but I think the coconut oil is really helping it to not look as desperately in need of a trim so that's something!

    Morning :hello:

LL I wish I had a magic wand for you and your OH hug_smiley.gif

Don't be impressed with my routines. A lot of you have jobs or young kids - or both. There's no way I could do this if I had other things going on. My kids are 20 and 21 and do their own washing, ironing and cooking. I only work one day a week (with the odd extra day thrown in here and there), mr tru works full time. So I get a lot of time to myself. Add in the fact that I'm on strike at home at the moment and you can see how I'm finding it easy :D The only living things I feel a responsibility for (for now) are the chickens and guinea pigs. Apart from them, all my efforts are going into me and my business.

I spent most of yesterday afternoon writing, on paper and the laptop. I've made a spreadsheet for food which I'll print out later. It doesn't have specific food on it, just the categories. So I've got a column for each day with 'fruit/veg', 'carbs', 'protein', etc. then little boxes so I can tick them when I've eaten a portion of it.

I've redesigned my invoices. I sat and worked out - to a tenth of a penny - exactly how much each item is costing me to make. I used to round it up then work out a price but I want to be as cheap as possible. I also researched suppliers prices, they change all the time and I wanted to make sure I'm getting the cheapest possible. I've had to resize my calendars slightly, they had an even number of holes for the wires and I realised yesterday that they need an odd amount otherwise the hangers don't sit in the centre

I've redone my toenails but the colour looks horrible. I might pinch some varnish from miss tru, she has bright purple and bright green :D

Right, I'm off for a lovely warm shower and leg shave, followed by lots of body lotion, foot cream and a squirt of perfume. Then I'm going to attack the triffids in the greenhouse.

    hi
just a quick post as I'm gonna do my exercise.

LL- yes the zumbas great fun and if you have a bad back -I do too-you can just leave the bits that may strain that out. Its a shame there's no daytime classes near you -there is one here. You can buy dvd's but last time I looked on amazon they were about £40!! so too pricey for me-they may have come down in price a bit. I do have it for the wii as well - its not quite the same as being in a class but it still makes you sweat so I figure it must be good exercise. Think its about £20 on amazon.

    have a great day everyone:)

    Morning everyone :)

Hobbling like a duck after carrying round DD at Legoland yesterday. Pilates/yoga here I come. Tru would you recommend your DVD's? I have been really slack this week on exercise :o Kids not been sleeping well and feel so tired as a result.

Made myself a strawberry smoothie this morning for breakfast. Have come to the conclusion that I just don't like fruit :o:o

LL - A heartbreaking decision to make, sending you a big hug xxx

Have a great day everyone :)

Bitsy I'd recommend anything by Barbara Currie for yoga, and and anything by Lynne Robinson for pilates. There's probably loads of DVDs out there that are made by proper teachers, but I just don't trust them :D

    Hi everyone,

I have just finished my shower, scrub and slather (SSS) a bit late today :o I like to get my 'sweaty' jobs done before I shower etc! I must get my hair cut, will make appointment later (P) I am one of life's procrastinator :o

LL, thank you again for the tips for muffin tops and spare tyre. I have been reluctant to do crunches because of my back and neck, but now realise they are nothing like I used to do:eek: I really need to get my waist tummy area toned, now my trousers look too big around the hips and legs but fit on the waist!
It will be lovely for you to have your DS1 back closer to home:)
The hedge will still be there tomorrow OPPS (P)

Bitsy, are you feeling better after your trip to Legoland? I remember doing it with my GS about ten years ago, loved it.
Smoothies are a great way of consuming fruit.

Bratz, well done for doing your yoga and beautifying when you were feeling sooo tired :A

Mooloo, nice to see you again, I hope all is well? Sounds as if you will be ready for your holiday!

Lolly, thank you for the Silky mitt details, I think it will suit my legs as I don't have much hair there.:D

Tru, glad you are still enjoying the strike and having a lot of me time :D

    Phoenix, are you OK?

Very gloomy today (not always sunny in the SW Maman ;)) but at least the rain is holding off!
Off to wash the chair covers, my two hairy heartbeats have made them a bit mucky :(

Hello to everyone I have missed :o

    Catch you later

    Hey Everyone,

LL, thanks for the advice regarding the ped egg. I think it will take me a while to get rid of all of the hard skin, I've been moisturising them each day though and you can really feel a difference already. Think I'll leave the ped egg until the weekend now.

I had a lovely bath today :) 15 mins, think that's a record - usually I'm in and out in 5 mins! I exfoliated, shaved my legs, then moisturised afterwards. I bought some Bicarb of Soda the other day so used some when brushing my teeth this morning. I'm a smoker and Diet Coke addict, so although my teeth aren't too bad, there is definitely room for improvement!

I also used my No7 Micro-Dermabrasion face Exfoliator - I love that stuff! :) Used to have the body one as well and found it really effective so may have to treat myself. I've just checked the site and they are giving away those No7 goody bags again so may get one depending on what's in it.
