Morning :hello:
Baz Pig had a husband, Beans Pig. He was moping around yesterday, looking for Baz. I rearranged the cages (we have five pigs) and gave him two new wives, Molly and Lily. He's still a bit mopey, but much happierBaz was buried next to their son, Boris.
LL, thanks for the PsI'll copy it all into word, print it out and put it into my A5 folder, named Tips & Inspiration.
I've picked a short yoga routine, it's only 15 minutes long. I haven't done it for ages so thought it best to start in the beginners section. Yesterday, I realised how long it's been since I last exercised properly - nearly eight months  Two weeks before Christmas last year, I stretched my arms up and yawned, and a pain shot from my shoulder to my neck, I was diagnosed with frozen shoulder. Sometimes the pain was so bad that I cried. Some days I couldn't even wear a bra because the strap irritated the nerve. It was finally gone by the end of may. Somewhere in that time frame, my hip started playing up and is only just starting to heal. My hip was sometimes stiff before that, but I always put it down to sleeping awkwardly or something like that.
I'll start the day with my usuals - shower, body lotion, foot cream and perfume. I've decided to add one permanent thing every week, this week it's 15 mins of yoga everyday except thurdays and sundays. Also, an extra piece of fruit everyday. OK that's two things for this week, but the fruit isn't a big effortBulletproof0 -
Morning everyone
LL - what fabuous posts....I shall really have to copy those downI LOVE John Bishop :rotfl: Laughter IS good for the soul after all
Karen - I bought this ages ago and have used it on and off. A little goes a long way. I am sure you could probably use any type of oil, I buy coconut oil from an Asian supermarket and I use that for a moisturiser and I am sure I read somewhere that that type of oil can penetrate keratin.
Tru - well done on your yoga, I have to get back into the swing of exercising. I may well be on my feet every day but I am soooo unfit.
I swam 7 lengths yesterday at the pool when we took the kids so that was something. I'd written a schedule for cleaning and included exercise on it so need to make the effort to make an appointment with myself. Tonight is HIIT or high intensive interval training. It's a killer but it's quick. I can't slog for hours on end at a gym or something it's too boring
Making the effort to get more protein in my diet, especially breakfast. So whilst I love eggs I can't see me having one EVERY day so I have embraced the world of crunchy peanut butterWas rather tasty if I say so myself on HM bread.

LL-thanks for the P's any motivation is appreciated.
Tru- am sure Beans will feel better now he's with his new wives - they do love company don't they.
Bitsy- I always make a weekly plan of what needs doing including cleaning, excercise, pampering etc. Don't always stick to it stringently but its so satisfying crossing off the things you have acheived.
Been on wii this morning after my break cos of weather and have lost 1lb - I no I tend to go up and down a couple of pounds alot but am just a bit baffled cos the weeks where I'v done zumba class, zumba on wii and walked plus curbed my choc habit, haven't resulted in any more weight loss than if I just walk dog and eat as much choc as I want!? Doesn't do much for my motivation at all.
Hve agood day all

hey all ... i'm back for a short while ( hopefully for good but i can never predict these things lol) been really busy here hubby finally got back to work today after 7 months on the sick ... it has been really hard going and as always i had to put myself right to the back of the queue... time to get that changed again ...
what have i done ... well i have made an appointment for myself for blood tests ( i know what on earth has that got to do with self improvement) i need to get my sugar levels checked and i want to speak to a nutritionalist/ dietician ... i paid for a nutritionalist before cost me £60 ( about 5 years ago) the guy was worse than useless ... i knew more than he did ... so this time i am going to try n.h.s stuff and see if that is any benefit to me
i am still applying for jobs .. nothing has came up yet .. but my current job is getting progressively worse now and i really want to leave ... with that in mind i have been splashing the cash on things like necklaces that are suitable for work ... i know it sounds silly but i am aware that appearance has alot to do with employability and all my good necklaces were stolen when we were burgled last year ... ( as i didnt wear them i did plan on replacing them)
i'm keeping on top of my face routine i would say 5 nights out of 7 i want to hit 7 out of 7 so that is a plan for me ... my nails ... well they are slowly getting there ... they have all just broke again so i need to grow them all again ( which is fine ) and keep on top of looking after them
i am not getting on top of excercising or eating ... as always these two seem to be my issues ... and it frustrates me no end ...
hope you are all good0 -
...LL- thanks for the gentle nudge about the mirror. It's very timely for me and reading it is what prompted me to post today!
Me too - Rl has overtaken me somewhat recently. Am feeling quite Gallic today - black wide leg linen trousers, black & white striped long sleeve t-shirt & flat white mary-janes with a white linen jacket. And it's freezing cold and raining on the Lancashire coast :rotfl: But I've had a haircut & my roots done and I'm using the No 7 P&P hot cloth cleanser & moisturiser and my hair & skin feel lovely!...[ I work from home and although it's wonderful not to have to stand on a freezing cold railway station platform at 6.30am on a January morning, it is very isolating when you work at home. Trying to boost my social life but finding it hard to do because of the money problems....
Dawning, whereabouts in Cheshire are you? I only ask as I know there are a few WI branches in the Warrington / Lymm areas, and also, have you been into the local library to see what groups / clubs are advertising themselves?0 -

Have you looked in Matalan / Tesco / Asda / Boots at their costume jewellery in the sales? I've had some gorgeous stuff over the last couple of weeks0 -
no i havnt but i will have a look thanks ... going into town tomorrow fingers crossed i find something there ... i'm looking for simple smart ... need to get myself some new clothes as well ... thats gonna take time lol0

Hi Everyone
Good to hear from you Elantan, the health check ups are a great idea. Hope you get more joy with the NHS nutritionist. Don't know what your library is like - but our local one has a really good section on all things food, health, diet wise. I know I've seen several books geared to blood sugar control. Might be worth a look.
Good luck with that and with the job hunting.
Your outfit sounds good Floss - well done on the routines too:)
I've had a good morning mooching round the charity shops. Picked up a lovely 70's vase (I know, - this one is definitely "stock" though. Got it for about £4 - its worth several times that, anything between £30 to £50). Also a soft squishy chocolate brown leather handbag 50p and a mini picnic basket 50p, will use that to display jewellery or bits and bobs when I start my stall, or even just sell it on.
Noticed all the autumn/winter stock creeping into the charity shops now. There's definitely a nip in the air today.
Going to go through my exercise DVD's today - want to try and add something else to the mix, I'm thinking T'chi. Good for stretching and balance.
Also (thanks for the reminder Maman/B] - going to start walking each day. I desperately need to do this, but need to start really small. Needing to see the chiropodist but she is on holiday till next week. Leaving OH is difficult this week because his main carer is on holiday, however, it's still light in the evenings so might try and fit a walk in when DS2 gets home.
A "virtual walking club" anyone?:rotfl::rotfl:
Bye for now x0 -

I used to do T'ai Chi before the kids came along. It looked so gentle but at the end of a session my legs would feel like jelly  It's quite hard to do a kicking sequence uber slowly LOLI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Hi all
LL - think you for all the PPsDefinately need to work on some of those - procrastination, patience and positivity at the top!! Think a 'virtual walking club' may be a good plan - I felt a lot better doing it but have drastically slipped in the last week and I fear I am very much a fair weather walker
Tru - glad your other piggy is a little more cheerful. The yoga sounds like a good idea - I had a yoga/pilates mix one a few years back and found it really helped with some back problems I had.
Bitsy - yay on the swimming - keep telling myself I must brave the local pool. I'm afraid you've lost me on the peanut butter - cannot stand the stuff lol!!
Lizzie - grats on your lb loss :T I have the same thing where sometimes it seems to make no sense whether you loseor gain but if they're going down then it's all good!
Elantan - welcome back, hope you managed to get something sorted with your tests. I'm hopeless with work jewellery, I can never to seem to find anything I like and that I think suits me
Floss - your outfit sounds lovely. Whereabouts are you based? I used to live in Lancashire - not on the coast but was generally equally cold and wet lol.
Had quite a nice, if rather lazy weekend. Did make more of an effort with the healthy eating but very lazy with the exercise - was chucking it now almost all weekend so didn't manage any walking, have no excuse for not doing my shred tho, just couldn't seem to face itWas going to have a pamper night last night but ended up going to the piccies instead to see Captain America - quite enjoyed it, worth a watch - so that's the plan for tonight instead. Will have a very busy week so must try and get spruced up tonight lol. Have final rehearsal tomorrow night, we're busking in the centre on Wed and then first show on Thursday!! Getting very close now
Hope everyone's having a nice day0
