haven't been on all weekend, bad Bratzy, but I have been keeping up with the FTF stuff - honest! I've finally remembered to grab some coconut oil and used it so far on my hair, face and for cooking. It truly is amazing - thanks so much for whoever mentioned it, I'm sorry I forget.

I also bought 2 new nail polishes for £1 each, one is navy which by happy chance is 'all the go' right now (on trend for once lol) and the other is a mint green sort of colour. I currently have the navy on though it's chipped a tiny bit so needs redone.

I'm also still blattering away at the knitting which is keeping my hands busy and is stopping me snacking as much as or biting my nails! Finished a pair of legwarmers and moved on to a shawl.
I made a nice meal for h2b and I on Saturday, as I realised it was 10months exactly until our wedding and I was rewarded by a lovely back rub - bliss!

I'm on lates this week in work which I hate, but I will have time to run any errands I don't usually get to do and so on so it's not all bad.
    carpe diem

...Floss - your outfit sounds lovely. Whereabouts are you based? I used to live in Lancashire - not on the coast but was generally equally cold and wet lol...

We live in Blackpool, between the football ground and the park. I lived in Warrington for over 30 years but moved here for love in 2006 and we got married here last September :D

How lovely and romantic, floss. I had a few days in Blackpool in the Spring. I wasn't looking forward to it (having only seen the seedier side when I've been to conferences in the past) but we had an excellent time. The friends we stayed with showed us the park, it's beautiful and we had lunch in the restaurant in the middle. What a lovely place, all Art Deco and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced.

I've been quite good today. DH and I had an appointment in local shopping centre and I announced I was going to walk home! It's about 2 miles but I did take a scenic route.;) I'm definitely up for a virtual walking club LL. I will fit in another walk tomorrow (no procrastination here:p).

Also had a little experiment with the eye make-up. Not to go anywhere but just to practise. Quite pleased with my first attempts so will have another go tomorrow.

    Sleep well all.
  • If anyone is looking for a new fitness dvd, my thigh muscles can vouch for the kettlenetics !!!, you get a 4lb kettlebell with 2 dvds really well explained and if anyone is quite fit it should be a fab fab top up workout, 20 mins a time which includes warm up and stretches god I am aching !!! but enjoying trying to get through it...

    Morning :hello:

I've got today's icky jobs out of the way - cleaning out chickens and guinea pigs - so I can concentrate on me. I love being selfish, I should do it more often, ha ha.

I did yoga yesterday, VERY gently - still wary of that hip! - and it felt great. I've just done another session but put more effort in this time. After a couple of minutes, my back started cracking and it was wonderful, lol. I feel so relaxed, I'm stretched out and pulled in all at the same time :D

I've been taking good care of my hands and nails. They've really improved, so today I'll paint my fingernails.

I was getting frustrated with the wire binding yesterday, I couldn't get the holes lined up properly. I've made a wonky notebook :D Just as I was finishing it, I realised what I was doing wrong. So I made three (straight!) calendars and as soon as my order of A5 paper turns up (sometime today) it'll be all systems go.

Just back from holiday, still trying to catch up with everyone.

I feel great but mainly because I now look like myself again. Does anyone else find they look a complete mess on holiday? I don't know how other women manage to look so great. I have no make-up on, salty/chloriney unstraightened hair - a total shambles.....and all the while women with tanned limbs and clean swishy hair are passing me by....

Feel wonderful now though. I did my sugar/olive oil scrub in the bath last night, followed by the OCM. I have perfume on today and make-up and my hair feels fantastic - just why can't I look like this on the beach???
It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :j

Hope your holiday went well polesalot, although it's always good to get back to 'normal'. I know what you mean about other people on holiday. Why does my hair always frizz up and stick to my face when other people look cool (in every sense).

I've been shopping (AGAIN:eek:) today. I was in nearby town and thought I'd try their CSs for a change as I had stuff to take in. I got a leaf green pashmina (real one), deep pink Fat Face top and a Benetton red 'ballet' cardigan (100% wool). It came to £12.50 but I wouldn't have had one of them for that full price. I must try and curb this spending a bit but it's so long since I wanted to buy clothes (that weren't black shrouds) that I'm loving the small sizes and bright colours!

I got one of those nail blocks from Boots that Bratz recommended so I'll be giving that a try. That was free as I used my points. I also parked (free again) away from the town centre so I had a brisk walk there and back (40mins?) plus walking around shops so I've done my walking for today.

    Back later.

    Hi Everyone

Tru - glad to hear your hip is responding, my back/neck/shoulders always feel better with some yoga stretches.

Still haven't tried out the Tai Chi or managed any walking. No PA for OH today so have struggled a bit, been housebound and haven't really had time for anything except looking after OH.

Just managed to give the picture frames their final undercoat - took three coats to cover the old black. Hopefully can start the proper colour tomorrow.

Never mind tomorrow we are "trying out" a third PA - for holiday cover and weekends. She is actually an old family friend and we know her quite well so hopefully should be ok.

Another meeting with OH's care manager re discussions about permanent care, followed by a very informative if somewhat convoluted and complicated phone call with the Welfare Rights people, regarding finances.

They were extremely kind and supportive and very helpful. Finance wise it's not going to be quite as dire as I had expected. Obviously I am determined to get him the best care I possibly can but good nursing care costs serious money. It is so complicated though.

Anyway it's very reassuring that I've got so many good people fighting in our corner for us.

Had to smile about your comments about not looking very glam on holiday polesalot I always look like a walking disaster when I'm on holiday. How do other people manage to look so good, I'm always such a hot, sticky mess.:o As for my hair:eek:

maman - liking the sound of your CS haul, pashminas and ballet tops, just my thing. £12-50 for three good quality items sounds good to me.

That's the beauty of CS shopping - you can try out all sorts of things that you wouldn't normally give house room to - you've only lost a few £'s if they don't look right. Definitely give the black shrouds a miss now - you don't need them anymore:D.

I nearly bought a brown per una dress yesterday (£3) but decided against it because I thought the colour wasn't right for me.

I did pick up a red knit dress from Scope a while back - still too small at the moment (14) but I think it will look really fab. Cost me nothing - they were going to chuck it out. It might be a bit itchy so will need to make a lining of some sort. I am really looking forward to being able to fit into it though.

The morning carer bought a big bag of plums (16lbs in weight) so will make a start stoning some tonight - chutneys, crumbles etc. She also bought some apples the other day - I'm going to be very busy.

Then blow me a neighbour dropped round a pot of home-made plum jam for OH. Well he needs feeding up.:)

Just going to water the garden, some exercise and then start dinner.

Keep up the good work, you're going great guns.
