Morning :hello:
I can't believe I wasted all that time doing the wrong exercises for my hip. The last few days of the correct exercises have made a massive difference. I'm supposed to do them four time a day, but only managed two sessions yesterday because I was at work. I don't think it'd go down too well if I lie on the floor in a carpet shop and start bending my legs aroundIt's still painful but improving.
I'm quite proud of myself, I usually nip to the garage next door when I'm at work and buy a small pack of buttons. It's my 4pm treat. Yesterday, I stayed put and munched half a punnet of cherries.
Mr tru is off today (groan, I want a day by myself). Hopefully he'll have a long lie-in. I'll quickly sort the animals out and run the hoover round, then have a mini spa session in the bathroom.
My hair is thick and there's lots of it, it takes a bit of taming at the best of times but it's completely out of control at the moment. I'll attack it with the thinning scissors later.Bulletproof0 -
hi all,
No beautifying yesterday. Had ceiling sorted -leak damage and not to go into it too much am not even sure its safe! The workmen's boss told him to do bodge something he says should have been replaced so need to look into it -don't want anyone falling through it. Local authority motto - if in doubt just bodge it up!
Had big row with OH last night, just felt I'd been left with all the clearing up, making t etc whilst he went off to pub. Then he comes back moaning dishes are still in sink.
So as you cam see struggling with the positives abit this morning.
Gonna have a soak later, do my facial excercises and maybe Zumba if I can be bothered.Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

Good morning all
Lizzie - sorry about your rotten day - hope all is ok today - chin up.
HF - glad your daughter is ok
Skimsmum - great news for DS - tell him well done - quite an achievement given the current job market
Tru - glad the hip is feeling better and well done on cherries. Am envious of your thick hair - mine is baby fine and thinning with age.:rotfl: Currently got a bit of a "pixie" going on trying it out - a la Judi Dench.Problem is it needs cutting every five minutes to keep it in shape so not very MSE.
Maman - sorry about the 1lb - never mind - you'll get there. And I'm sure youre looking pretty damn good.:D
Mrs W - that is truly fantastic news about your renal assessment - must be a huge relief for you.
Gotta dash - carer is helping me take OH to the garden centre and he's chomping at the bit - it has a great cafe that he loves.:rotfl:
So just a big hello to everyone elsehope you are all in the pink.:D
Stay happy and positive.;)
Bye for now x0 -
Sorry all but after trying to be positive I now need to have a mini-rant
OH's parents are up to visit this weekend. OH gets very frustrated with them when they come up anyway - they always stop with his aunt and uncle, they usually tell us right at the last minute that they are coming (this time it was Tuesday!) and they never want to come round or spend any time with us, they usually ask us to one 'family meal' where all the relatives that live up here attend and OH gets to talk to them for about half an hour between them seeing everyone else. For example this time they came up yesterday so spent last night with his aunt and uncle, family meal with everyone tonight, they are going out tomorrow then night with aunt and uncle before home late on Sunday. So he will only see them tonight for a few hours in a big group of people.
Anyway this time has been even worse. His mum asked all the relatives up here to go to the meal except his gran. He is very close to his gran and gets constantly put in the middle of her and his mum as gran gets upset when his mum doesn't ring her for months at a time - when she rings her then his mum is often is a rush or 'out the door' and says will ring back but doesn't. He spoke to his mum and said he thought it wasn't fair that she had excluded his gran and she ended up backing down and saying she would ask her. Then she said, 'oh but we want to go to xx restaurant' - she knows his gran doesn't have the best mobility at the moment and this is a very bad access restaurant and last time his gran went there she nearly had a very bad fall and has said she doesn't want to go there again. OH pointed this out to his mum and also said that since this restaurant is right in the city centre it's going to be absolutely packed as it's the first weekend of the festival. His mum said she would have to speak to his aunt and see what she thought before she would think about somewhere else! Anyway has come back to us again and she won't change the restaurant but she has called his gran and 'begged' her to come, which she has eventually agreed to. So now we have to go out tonight to an absolutely packed restaurant, try and get his gran up the stairs (because no one else seems bothered about how she's going to manage them!) and OH is a really bad mood at his mum - which isn't going to make for a nice night!
Families huh??? :mad:0 -
Oh poor you, podperson. I was tempted to say that I know a decent hotel where they could stay!;) I'd have thought for a family meal you're probably better off steering clear of the city centre. The service/food will probably be appalling as most of the restaurants will just want to make as much money as they can from tourists who'll probably never visit again. That being said I did eat here
http://www.ghillie-dhu.co.uk/ and the staff were really lovely and the food quite good too.
Hopefully your OH will do his best to make sure his gran has a good time and plaster on a smile to get through the evening.
I'm off to a do a bit of batch-cooking as freezer is very short of HM ready meals.
Back later.0 -
Good evening all,
I'm am finally back in the land of FTF
A long term problem reared it's ugly head again and I could not sit at the computer for more than a few minutes
I have not done much over the last week but today managed a manicure and OCM, starting to feel better. Eating has been hit and miss so dreading weigh in this week :T Going out for some fresh air tomorrow:)
LL, your BH moment made me chuckleI hope all is well?
How do the frames look, shabby chic yet?
Maman, never mind about the weight gain it will soon come off, just enjoy yourself. IOW, Scotland sound as if you and O/H are having a great time
Mrs W, fantastic news on your health report :j:j keep up the good work:)
Pod, I hope all goes well tonight, count to ten :A:D
Bratz, good news about the coat, especially as the winter could be bad
Tru, Hope your hip is getting better now you have the right exercises?

Pod, I'm anti-family at the moment so haven't got anything useful to say
Hope the meal is going well.
Carmen, the relief is amazing. It's still painful, but improving.
I popped in to report my three positives for the day. 1) Mr tru cleaned the bathroom - the strike is obviously working2) He also scrubbed the chicken shed, it's usually my job - again, strike action, lol. 3) We harvested some onions and pink fir potatoes from the garden.
Ooooh wait - am I allowed four positives? My wire binder turned up today, I've been playing with itIt seemed a bit fiddly to start with but I'm getting used to it. I've cut paper ready to bind into notebooks tomorrow :j

LL- things abit better. Sought advice and there seems to be differing opions as to whether the ceiling is safe or not. Hopefully it is!
PP- families! Why is it that there's always a section of the family with complete disregard for anyone else's feelings. Hope it wasn't too bad. Personally don't have much to do with OH 's family -we were always the one's leftout as we had kids and no=one else did. Made a pact with myself not to do this sort of thing when my kids got older and now we have some grownup kids always try to make sure everyones treated equally.
Tru-glad your strike's having good results. If I thought it'd work here I'd give it a try. Everyone here seem quite happy just to step over the mess!
Everyone else-sorry if I haven't mentioned you -find it difficult going back too far on this copmputer and then my post goes missing and I have to start again- keep up the good work.
Didn't go to Zumba yesterday -needed to chill after the day before being so frantic. No FTF except for a good soak and a bit of much neede me time with TV, laptop and a good book.
off for a walk later, probably in the rain by the looks of things but I don't mind -at least its abit cooler. I find nothing like a good walk tyo clear your mind and lift your mood.

Good morning ladies,
Very humid here so the mossie's had a feast on moi last night  After my shower this morning I sprayed from head to toe with Skin So Soft original (only thing that works for me) I did brave the scales and have put on just a little, considering the 'bad easy' food I have eaten over the last week, I was not too disappointed!
We had a mother of all storms the other day, I love to watch them, thankfully did not see too much damage around.
'We' had picked the peaches and plums the day before, surplus duly distributed to friends and neighbours and pots of jams and puds received in return, yum
Tru, glad to hear the 'strike' is getting resultsI used to help with the 'blokey' stuff, much to O/H annoyance, but these days I have to be careful, mind is willing body is not :rotfl::rotfl: Take care.
Pod, how did the evening go, did gran enjoy herself?
Lizzie, how are you today, better I hope? Has the ceiling been repaired?
Will post my three positives later, after I have done them
