:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: I'm sending loads of hugs to all who need them and hope everyone has a happier day tomorrow.

I laughed at the bit about humans preparing for winter LL. I was in the CS today and I bought myself 2 tops. One was a long sleeved t shirt type from Next in a lovely leaf green at £3. It'll be good under black jackets and I have a skirt it'll be good with too. The other was a purple jumper. It was only £2 and it's French Connection, not in the newest condition but I bought it because it's 100% wool and I'm already planning ahead. Since losing weight I find I feel the cold much more so I need layers for the winter, especially indoors otherwise the heating will cost a fortune.

We've hardly any blackberries ready so maybe we'll have a mild winter down south:p

I did the promised ironing today:A but it was a bit overcast this afternoon although still warm. So instead of sitting in the garden I took stuff to the CS. It was a fair swap though as I took 3 big bags but only came away with 2 items:o. It was still warm this evening so DH and I sat in the garden for a while after dinner.

I'm definitely doing pampering tomorrow. Nails need doing so I'll have a bit of a pedicure and manicure along with plenty of lotions and potions. Hairdresser booked for Thursday, definitely needs cutting but I think the highlights maybe OK (hope so 'cos they're hugely expensive).

    'night all.

@lessonlearned I was at a friends house for our lughnasadh ritual and we were talking about the weather and winter.
We try to be in tune with nature and her cycles, and yes a bountiful harvest now is a sign of a hard winter coming, just as it did last year so I've been knitting h2b a scarf and got myself a nice warm coat with a hood (was soaked last year) and will stock up on food etc as time goes on to make sure I'm not caught out.

Hugs for Floss and Mrs W xxx

Had a reasonably early night, slept through til 6.30am so feel slightly better than the last few days.
Had a bicarb face scrub in the shower so skin felt nice afterwards, plucked and shaved various hairy bits LOL and moisturised with my pure coconut oil :D So currently feeling fresh as a daisy :)

Have a lovely day everyone :)

I found out why my hip wasn't showing much improvement. It's not tendonitis, it's sciatica. Which is good for two reasons - 1) I prefer the exercises and 2) it should heal quicker than tendonitis. The exercises are like yoga, which I love. I had a slight panic when I was told it could be a symptom of something else, including a tumour , slipped disc or a couple of other things (which I can't remember now). Mine relates to my piriformis muscle (??!) but I can't remember all the info so I'll be googling it :D

My legs are in desparate need of a shave so I'll do that when I have my shower in a mo. I'll also be filing my feet. I'm not too impressed with the nail varnish, it's already wearing away at the tips of my nails. I suppose I can't expect much from a magazine freebie :D

I'll be shifting slabs and other bits and pieces around today. We're halfway through putting a patio down so we're moving things, putting slabs down then moving things back onto the laid slabs so we can do the next bit. So I won't be bothering with make-up or hair, I'll be fresh-faced and ponytailed :D

I sorted my biz stuff, it's all organised and everything is in easy reach. I feel so much better for doing it.

:grouphug: hugs to all of you missing someone at the moment. Its never easy when anniversaries, birthdays etc come around.

Doesn't seem to be many blackberries ripe round here at the moment but must keep eye out daughter and I always like to make a nice crumble with them.

Went looking for some foundation yesterday, how can you get to my age and not be able to find the "right" colour? The last lot I had I asked advice from the assistant but the other day after I'd put at bit on (don't wear much -just enought to even skin tone ), I noticed it was
too dark and had to use my lighter concealer to make it look ok. Have hd this foundation quite a while so don't know if my skin colour has changed or if I've been walking around looking like I've been tangoed for ages. :o
My complexion's abit pinky so the colour's don't seem to match.
I did catch sight of my reflection in the bus window and just thought how saggy/ old I looked so don't know why I'm bothering at the moment -maybe its the heat I just feel Urrrrgh at the moment -at least my nails look nice.

Right off to walk dog before it's too hot. Then lots of ironing to do so better get the fan out!

    Morning all

Sorry people are feeling a bit down this week. I don't think the weather is helping, we had a torrential downpour yesterday which I thought might at least have made things a little cooler but is still very muggy. Poor OH kept getting woken up last night to me shoving him away from me cause I was sweating buckets :o

Had a good night at practice last night but was so tired and when I got home and saw people in the front room (including irritating gf) I have to admit I was a bit of a wuss and just went and shut myself in the bedroom. Feeling a bit guilty today!

Feeling rather demotivated this week but have decided it is a case of mind over matter so will try and push through. If it stays fine will walk home and really need to pick up some shopping on the way as have nothing in at the moment so resorting to frozen unhealthy stuff.

Perhaps we should try and add a bit of positivity and think of 3 positive things about the day/week? So if I think hard I could say that I got my results back for my OU course and got a Grade 2 pass (yay :)) my brother has confirmed he's definately booked his tickets to come and stay with me at the end of the month and the sun seems to be coming out! Sorry if people think that's a little preachy or cheesy but sometimes just thinking about some good things we have can make the bad things not quite so bad - well for me at least.

    Hello Everyone

Well I wanted to make it a nice positive post today but I'm just so damned cranky.

Went for a lie down - just dozing off when the phone went  I really shouldn't be angry because it was OH's father and I just need to be patient because he is 89 after all, but there's only just so much moaning and whinging that I can take. I wish OH's wretched sister would do something - I don't know what exactly but I just can't take him on board too..............

He has some sort of dementia setting in, is deaf as a post and phone calls are an absolute disaster.:rotfl: Repeat this 10 times I must be more patient, I must be more patient .................:o

OH not too good either - his condition seems to be "heat sensitive". His balance is really bad and transfers have been really difficult. He too has been confused and has whinged a lot today, complaining that I'd left him on his own in the garden. (whilst I was preparing snacks, cleaning the kitchen:(

What is it again - Lord give me patience, give it me now

The agency rang - they are short staffed and can't help with evening calls at the moment ...............

Sorry, but the list just goes on and on sometimes. Just need to take a step back and pretend I'm in a happy place.

Perhaps it's the heat but it's a real case of CBA so no exercise yet, no beautifying either:(

When it's cooler I'll set too.

No it's not cheesy to look for positives PP I'm usually a glass half full kinda gal and can usually find good things when I look for them.

    My three today

My lovely sister came today. She's my best friend and we adore each other. We talk nearly every day on the phone. We giggle like school girls and she always makes me feel better.

I'm reading a fabulous book called "101 Things To Do Before You Diet".
It's very similar to our gently does it Frump to Fab approach. I got it from the library but I think I will treat myself to a copy. It's got loads
of good tips and I think it's worth the investment.

One of OH carers bought me a big bag of apples from her garden, and I I've dug up loads of potatoes from my garden. Still got a few plants left will leave those for a few days.

Oh and a sneaky No 4 - DS2 off work today and has just made me a cup of tea.

    Life is good really.

back again - old PC threw a hissy fit & was replaced - old modem was not compatible & new one received with only half a power pack - took 4 days for the other half to arrive. Currently testing a cafe latte meal replacement but only suitable for breakfast as I am starving by lunchtime. However clothes are starting to feel loser.

Daughter had to go to hospital today as she fainted & hit her head - she's fine though Dr thinks she overheated, baby is fine too.

I won't have time to post tomorow, so thought I'd do it now.

    LL
, sounds like you could do with a few days off to just concentrate on you.

Hamsterfan, I'm glad your daughter is OK.

Podperson, 3 positives a day is a great idea. I need to concentrate on that I think, there's too many negatives in my house at the mo. So mine are - son made me a cuppa. This is HUGE, he never does that :D I ordered 2 DVDs, THIS is to replace the one I have on video, and THIS is for a bit of variety. And I ordered a wire binder for my business, I can now make notebooks and calenders with posh spirally bits :D

I'm having an early night tonight, this heat has sapped all my energy.

    Good Evening Ladies,

First Thank you to all of you for the hugs and well wishes- it meant a lot, I rather naively thought this year would be easier...silly me, I was short tempered, snappy, tired angry...oh it goes on and on, but I guess it's normal, mostly I think the fact that he was so young- 52 and before the sudden illness had been very fit and active I get angry that it could all change so fast and I suppose with him gone, I'm suddenly responsible for my Mum and Brother and I'm not always so well eqiped to handle it all...but I'm learning and I'll get there.

Sorry to hear you are having a rubbish time of it LL- hang in there, sounds like you need to step back and take a deep breath, no help right now I know, but we all go through the dips and ruts just look after you and take it easy ok?

PP- thank you for the 3 positives- on a good day that is exactly how I try to look at things we (DH and me) try and look for one personal and work positive a day...or on a bad day just one good thing...so here goes...

    1) After almost 4 years I have finally been discharged from the renal consultancy team:j got a very positive assessment, they think I'm doing great, no need to keep going although I will always need to keep an eye on kidney fuction- double whammy as she also suggested as I've been doing so well with lifestyle changes that they start to reduce some of the meds I'm on:j:j:j

    2) Today, I managed to be calm when talking to Mum, did not get annoyed over being ignored/Mum being demanding/issues with extending family and just chatted normally about my day- I know there are things I'll have to deal with eventually but right now Mum needs me:D

    3) My collegue brought in a huge bucket of wild plums for me from her Garden- they are renting a big house with a lovely big garden full of fruit trees- plum wine has now been started!

right am off to get a decent night's slight ( PLEASE!!)
