Lovely to read what everyone is doing on the road to fabness! I've just done a body scrub and hair shine thingy. Am going out for dinner with OH so may try out a possible wedding makeup look.

Noticed some dark clouds so nipped out to fetch the washing in and wash out the wheely bins which have been emptied today - oh the glamour of my life.

I have problems with "headachey" perfumes too, I cant seem to wear anything too heavy or overly sweet. At the moment I'm using CK1 - it's still one of my favourites. Any suggestions for a change would be very welcome.

Dawning I too sometimes find "summer dressing" a bit difficult - I'm hoping that once I've reached a more acceptable weight it will get easier. Maman mentioned that having lost 3 stones she sometimes feels the cold a bit. I'm hoping that will happen to me to help counteract my hot flushes:eek:. I tried to wear an outfit this morning and within minutes of dressing I had to strip off and wear something cooler. At least with winter clothes you can add or take off layers as and when required.

Anyway - today I'm determined to do some exercise so, having just given OH his afternoon snack - it's off to prepare dinner whilst at the same time doing some exercise. Multi-tasking;) Do you think I could pull in a bit of ironing at the same time.:rotfl:

Hope you all have a fab weekend.

I've just had a call from some of OH's old work colleagues. They want to come over and see him tomorrow - that means I'll have to get cracking and clean the house.:o

Oh well - it's just the kick up the derriere I need.

    Bad day here :(

I forgot the perfume, but I have moisturised. My legs need shaving, but I can't be bothered. I'll do them in the morning.

I've been thinking of all the little things that annoy me, and I've managed to jumble them all together in one big lump. I'm sat here with a pad and pen, trying to declutter my brain by writing it all down - there's even bullet points :D Funny, on their own they don't seem important. But when you put them together, there's a lot there. I've a stress headache all day.

I'm slowly realising why I do some of the things I do - it's a bit scary TBH. I might note them here in the next few days, depending on how much I can decipher. Ooooh that sounds a bit cryptic - it's just that I want to be sure before I put it on here for all the world to see.

Hi everyone, sorry haven't posted much but have just felt really 'bleurgh' this week, missing OH dreadfully, grief is a horrible thing. Anyway didn't want to pull everyone down with me so have read all posts and tried to keep up my new regime. Fog beginning to clear I'm happy to report. My nails and feet are looking massively better! My first manicure is booked for a week on Saturday and SIL is coming with me so we're planning a shopping session too.

Have a good weekend everyone, take care

Well I have stuck 2 days on the yeast and sugar free and don't even feel hungry. Quiet impressed with myself. Will weigh myself round mum's tomorrow as I don't own any scales.
Not been brave enough to put the make up on yet. Might wait until I get my hair done on monday.
My problem is feeling too self conscious.

Extremely stressful couple of days here but on the plus side I did repaint my toes. No more bright yellow......now on petrol blue :) Done naff all in the way of looking after my temple. I have however been reading this blog on the road to improve my body image :)

    Tru - hugs honey xx

    Hi JB (Jill)

I just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear how much you are struggling with your grief this week. I'm sure that there will be times when your grief eases a little and at other times it must overwhelm you.

Whilst our situations are different I think I understand a little of how it must be for you. Although any hopes of a recovery for my OH are now long gone - day to day life can still be something of an emotional roller coaster.

Whilst technically my OH is still with me - in many ways he isn't. I know this sounds crazy but in many ways I feel that I have already lost him - the man I've loved all these years to all intents and purposes died a couple of years ago with his major "episode".

He was in hospital for over 4 months and the man who came home from hospital simply wasn't the same man who went into hospital. Occasionally I get the odd glimpse of the man he was but really he's just a shadow of what he used to be. Bit by bit he's simply slipping away from me ........

I can no longer bear to look at old photographs of him - it's far too painful to look at how he was compared to how he is now.

The physical decline is bad enough but to see his personality, mental and cognitive changes is extremely difficult. TBH I am seriously terrified of what the future holds for him but there is very little I can do.

I will endeavour to keep him at home for as long as possible but as we head towards the final stages that's not going to be an option. All I can do is try and find the best care for him that I can.

Any way Jill do take care of yourself and take what comfort you can from your children (my boys and my sister have been a great comfort to me).

I don't really have any words of wisdom. For myself I try and take pleasure in a few simple things like a sunny day, the birds singing, my garden and any hobbies which can absorb me - sewing, painting etc,

All I can suggest is you try and take care of the physical you, plenty of sleep or rest, eat healthily, a little gentle exercise when you can face it and just a bit of general TLC.

Hope you feel a little better soon. x

That was such an honest and moving post, it rang so true with my memories of my mum's last few months. It is so very difficult to have to watch a loved one's personality change as a result of illness.

I hope your hunt for the right future all works out in your and your DH's favour.

    Floss xx
