Hello ladies, and welcome to all new peeps.
I have been really busy over the past week so have been trying to catch up on all the posts!
Hugs to all of you that have been having a difficult time recently :grouphug:
Well done to everyone that have had a good week with weight loses and beauty treatments
Be right back...
.....back,
Bratz, I will 2nd/3rd what Maman and LL have posted. Chin up, things can only get better. You could also try sports direct for a coat, not sure of your size but the men's section have bigger sizes and can be cheaper.
I used to wear my O/h sweaters, he whinged because even after washing he could still see my boob shape in the sweater :rotfl::rotfl:
I have finally passed my plateau :j another 3 lbs lost, that's 2st 9lb!!
I would never haved believed that I would have the patience to do this, it has taken approximately 36 weeks. I still have a long way to go and I will get there. Remember, just losing 1lb a week will be 3st 10lbs in one year! I know my health has improved (bp) I have dropped 3 sizes and someone asked me if I am on a diet because I look so well. I truthfully told her I am not on a diet, just eating sensibly, most days
I finally started the OCM and can report I am very pleased with the results, so far. I have not been able to source caster oil yet (will try the ebay link thank you) I have used just been using olive oil.
I had a very lazy weekend watching the golf, but I going out tomorrow and Wednesday to do some window shopping, I will count that as some exercise :rotfl:
Upwards and onwards ladies

:T:T:TCarmen, that's brilliant weightloss!!
Agree about keeping an eye open in CSs not just for Bratz but for anyone. I have a regular browse in our local centre. It's a bit like finding reduced goods in the supermarket. You may not actually need what you get that week but if you can afford the few pounds it'll save far more long term. I'm delighted with the few bits I've bought recently. The cost per wear must be in pennies already and it's seen me over this difficult time when I'm not sure of my final dress size.
I'd love to have a bit of a moan about how out of sorts I'm feeling. I'm sure it's the weather rather than anything specific. I'm supposed to be going out tonight but I'd willingly curl up indoors. Instead I'll put my best face on and SMILE:D and enjoy myself once I've made the effort.
Nothing much to report fabwise. What is good is that as I introduce each element: hair done regularly, perfume, nails painted, decent make-up, healthy food etc etc then I stick with it. So I suppose what I mean is nothing new.
Interested in what you said about your 'myself' spending diary LL. I've been keeping one this month for food shopping. The trouble is that it's not strictly true because we go out to eat sometimes so that's 'free' or comes from our (grandiosely named;)) entertainments budget! Fortunately I'm not short of money, as such, but reading some OS threads I wondered how close we come in to some of the budgets mentioned. Plus, I too hate waste. I suppose the exercise is good in itself as it makes you think before spending. Anyone else do spending diaries?0 -
I found this thread Friday when I was researching heating oil options. How in the world it came up I have no idea! Now my first thought was 'irrelevant' but something hooked me and I book marked it and have read every post. What an amazing group of ladies ... you even inspired me to find out how to log in and post (something I've not done for a year or maybe more). Hope this post works LOL And that it will be ok to join in.
A little about me - I am self employed and work from home, live in a rural area have one big dog and 2 horses and spend my days in fleeces and tatty joggers or jeans. I often forget to brush my teeth and hair and I know I'm scruffy. Over the last 12 months I've actually been 'dressing up' to go to the pub with my girlfriends occassionally so I have tried but with no real intention. The mirror task was downright scary. I was disgusted with the state I am in. Yes, so hardly anyone sees me as I don't go out to work and people rarely 'drop in' but actually its just embarrassing when they do. So, I've made a cracking start. I've showered, moisturised my face and brushed my hair each day since reading. I already use rubber gloves for some yard work and for the dishes (phew something right). I've found I own a deoderant and a bottle of perfume and I'm using both daily. Whilst on a particularly long telephone call today I filed my nails and during two later calls managed to paint my finger nails. Interestingly I feel better about myself.
My relationship is in tatters and I'm not sure what will happen with that. I'm not sure OH and I will survive as a couple. But I like the idea of just doing this for me. I think you are all on to something. If the outside looks better I will feel better. And if I feel better then I may be more motivated by life.
I've loved your posts. Thank you all. I've learnt a lot and made a start....Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Hi Watty,
Welcome aboard the wagon to fabdom.
Nice to see you have made a start, I also do my nails while I am chatting to my sis on SkypeThat way I can keep still until the varnish dries.
Look forward to reading your posts.

oh no!!! Had a lovely long post written and it's disappeared
Anyway was saying how I haven't been on here much but I have been keeping up to date with the grooming (more or less!) After doing nothing all weekend I made up for it last night with a bath with moisturising oil, washed hair with medicated shampoo, cleansed, exfoliated and clay masked face.
To all those who gave me advise about my issue with blotchy skin after the weekends at OHs, I took my own pillowcase with me and all was good. Looking like it might be an allergy after all.
I have my second contour wrap next Saturday. Looking forward to it now. I can REALLY notice a difference in my stomach. My OH reckons he can see a difference in my bum too (he's not happy about that!!)
Going to book a proper manicure and pedicure for this week. Going to get a 3 week manicure for the wedding so want to get my nails into shape first!0 -
BRATZ
Have been feeling very down in the dumps the past few weeks, thinking I look like crap and am completely useless so I really need to get myself snapped out of it. It's hard to do thinks for yourself when feeling like that, I almost feel like I am not worth enough if that makes sense?
Know how you feel but just a bubblebath soak, a little something for yourself, an hours peace away from it all can make all the difference I find. I know its hard to bounce back I seem to be up and down all the time at moment but I am determined not to give up on having a better mindset.
LL- Thankyou I do agree about friends. How can people who call themselves friends behave as they do? I have begun to despair ever having a really good friend and if I could take my dog everywhere with me probably wouldn't even bother,( she's my best friend at the moment)!
I also have had to look after every penny for as long as I can remember and now even when I receive birthday money or tokens find it hard to pay full price for any clothes,or I look at it and think I could get a similar thing for half the price at Primark!
Welcome to all the newbies.
I think you'l find the support on here wonderfull.
Haven't had the time to do anything much today except walk the dog- it's abit hectic with different end of term events at daughter's school and I don't seem to have had aminute. Going in bath later though and will wash hair, moisturise. check for stragglers on eyebrows and do a manicure.

Hi all,
Have been away for a week so having a catch up. Glad to see this thread is still going strong but sorry some people are feeling a bit down this week. Had a lovely break but feeling a bit of the 'back to the grind' blues today. Also came back to some rather crappy money news so am going to be even more skint then I'd thought for a whileStill am trying to push through and definately need to get back into a routine this week, have been very lazy with the healthy eating and exercise while away, though did loads of walking so I suppose it's not all bad
Anyways think am gonna go have a bath and get out the body scrub. So need to redo my nails as well.0 -

It's that old mantra they used to teach on all those training courses I used to attend. :rotfl::rotfl: PPO - Persistance Pays Off

Hi Everyone and a big shiny welcome to Skipsmum & Watty
Great multi-tasking Watty. Sorry to hear about your relationship woes but I definitely agree when you say do this for yourself
Well we started the new regime with carers this evening, much better. Oh tucked up in bed by 9-00 and I sat with him and we watched a bit of TV together. Need to get a better armchair - using an old cane one at the moment that I use in the garden sometimes - not very comfortable for "long sits" though.
My spending diary seems to be catching, my DS2 - who spends money like water - announced he's going to turn over a new leaf and is going to rejig his finances on Wednesday (his day off). He has spent most of this evening doing something clever on his computer with some money managing thingy.
I'll stick to my notebook.:rotfl: If notebooks are good enough for Tom who won the Apprentice last night - then they're good enough for me.
Speaking of new leaves - my new mantra - Early Nights (at least before midnight - that's early for me).
So if you'll excuse me I off to bed now - reading a biography about Shirley Bassey.
G'night all x0 -
Hi,
ermm Can I join please, I love the idea of looking much better by Christmas, I dress very badly and have put on weight, my skin is kinda rubbish for most of the month. I would also love to have some sort of image change for when I go back to work in September.
I have started to read the thread but not finished yet! Hope you don't mind me just jumping in and saying hello!
