That sounds very much like what happens to my DS. It turned out in his case to be a sslight allergy to the washing powder used on the bedclothes. Try taking your own pillowcase next time and see if that helps0 -

(Kerry, agree with Bitsy about antihistamine.
Are there pets in the house, maybe you are allergic to them?

Thank you all!! I hadn't really considered an allergy as it's the front of my face it affects, forehead and my nose, strangely enough also the areas I have dermatitis. But anything is worth a try so I'll bring my own pillowcase with me next weekend! And take an antihistamine.
They do have 2 cats but we have 3 at home so don't think it's them.0 -
I fear it's that TOTM (even with a mirena fitted) whereby my body swells and I welcome an increase in weight of circa 5lbs
Honestly do we women just get the rough end of the stick or what? I mean my H hasn't had to cope with severe anaemia due to AF, split himself in two having babies, kissed goodbye any chance of having a taut smooth belly after it's been stretched to hell and back, endless shaving, plucking, make up every day, water retention.........need I go on.
Still have put the slap on, 30 mins of yoga is scheduled for some time today along with the usual housework. I think in my adventures into high intensity interval training will have to exclude skipping though:eek:
tru - I was working on the Beyond Chocolate principle of having what you want in abundance otherwise you'll feel deprived......clearly 200g x 2 isn't enough for me:o Thing is after eating all the rubbish, chocolate and cake I felt sooooooo sick all evening, tired and lethargic. Problem is I just HATE fruit so when it's snack time I automatically reach for the sweet stuff
I am making an orange cake today........do you think that counts towards my 5 a day :rotfl:
hamsterfan - what's Ultralift Challenge? Sounds like a Playtex bra to me :rotfl:

Hi Everyone
Some lovely chatty posts here. You are all doing so well and it's very inspirational seeing how you are all getting on.
Bitsy - I feel your pain.I've had (minor-ish) gynae problems for most of my life. I am currently trying to wean myself off HRT - but the night sweats are coming back. Going to try some sage again and see if I can get them under control.
I agree with the water Carmen - when I have my night sweats I get so dehydrated I wake up with a splitting headache. It takes a couple of hours and several drinks before I've replenished the correct water levels and can get rid of my headache.
My skin feels really dry this morning. No carer again today so very pushed but will do the banana face mask later to try and put some nutrients back into my skin. It's definitely the dehydration that's drying out my skin.
Anyhoo I do at least feel a whole lot better today - my last cup of coffee was 7.30, had some hot milk before bed and slept right through the night. What a difference a decent night's sleep makes:D.
There's a few of you who've gone very quiet - you know who you are. Hope you are all ok.
Don't worry if you've fallen by the wayside, keep reading and do try and post when you can. No-one here is going to pass judgement - unlike some threads where folk get a bit "snippy".
We don't do "snippy" here. We all have horrible, grotty days when we just want to stay in bed and pull the duvet over us.
Just draw a line and start again.
Time for a quick shower and get back to OH. x0 -
Banana Face Mask
Mash a 1/4 of banana
1 teasp runny honey
1 teasp either cream or yogurt
leave about 10 mins
This is a lovely rich soothing mask, ideal for when skin is stressed & dry & itchy. Great for mature skin because it's packed with nutrients to soothe and feed the skin0 -
Good Morning Ladies!
Carmen Thanks for asking after me- I'm ok, just been a bit tired and off for a couple of days- ankle is going fine- may even brave some (small) heels this week...we shall see!
LL hope you had a better night after your horrible stress attack
Bitsy Beans- Birthday cake is outside the rules- as for the chocolate- have you tried buying yourself some really good quality chocolate and only having one a day? You know build it in to your plan, you could buy a really nice box of something from hotel chocolat or something? You'll need to eke it out otherwise not very MSE:D
Tru I'm loving the sound of all of that fresh veg NOM!
not entirely sure why I'm so off at the moment- may just be things getting on top of me a bit, try to be cheerful but everyone has their limits I guess, will be fine soon I expect...
Weekend was nice, had two friends both doing BBQ's for their 30th birthdays on Saturday, thankfully one started quite early in the day ( they have a 6week old ) so we were able to do both and Sunday was a bit of a catch up day and I really needed it! This weekend we re off to (pretty please) sunny Cheltenham or at least a field near cheltenham- for 2000 Trees festival, never been before, but am told it's quite a chilled out and relaxed festival, lots of small bands so hoping to discover some new favourites.
Normally during camping/festival stays the taking care of myself regime goes out of the window and it showsso I am having a think at the mo as to how I can keep my skincare/fabness routine going while we are away- will be taking lots and lots of water for a start- way too easy to forget to drink enough when out of normal routine. And I think trying to plan to make sure that we have plenty of good food i.e. not junk to eat would help too...
One thing I will definately do is NOT rely on those face wipe thingys- I tend to just fall back on them when we are away, but they just don't cleanse your skin properly- whatever the adverts say, and thinking about it- we have kettles and flasks etc- no reason I can use a flannel and warm water etc- I think in the past I've not wanted to appear to "girly" with the group when camping- probably a hangover from being the only girl in the group when we all met, but hell sod it I AM a girl!:D plus the other girlies don't seem to let it bother them-
Tonight's fab treatment will be a pedicure and changing the nail polish on my toes, and maybe a deep condition of my hair whilst I'm at it!
Right am off for now, hope you are all doing well,
laters!

-what peel are you using. I'm feeling grotty today but will post up a recipe for a mini-peel soon.
hi LL, I've a 20% lactic peel from a shop on ebay. Never used one before so just seeing how it goes.
hamsterfan1- Keep up with the zumba, going to a class makes it easier. I did it on the wii-fit and found it really hard but once I went to a class It seemed to fall into place -don't get me wrong still not that good but can keep up and am much better on wii too. I love it !
Did a manicure last night - now have sparkly purple toenails and a french one on nails ( not too good if you look close but hey I'm still practicing!)
excercise- 20 mins wii-sports active
20 mins wii zumba
eva frasier facial workout
Quite pleased with myself.
Keep up the good work everyone!

I Want to be Yummy By Yule / Christmas Cracker.
Promise to have lots of things to add and share from my wealth of library books.
oh and very quickly ->
One thing I will definately do is NOT rely on those face wipe thingys- I tend to just fall back on them when we are away, but they just don't cleanse your skin properly- whatever the adverts say
the training basically said that the wipes were not meant to replace a daily clense/tone/moisturise regement, but to act as a temporary quick fix. There for by all means use them, but know that ONLY using them will not cleanse or muistureise your skin fully, leaving impurites that cause blemishes. Wipes and inteneded to be used in conjunction with other products (hopefully from the same brand but thats the training talking not me.)
(that was all just backing you up really wasnt it)
My festival tip for facial care. Flannel. Keep it in a zippy freezer bag. annoint with essential oils of witchhazel and teatree (and eucalptis and mint if u want that zingy wake up feel often good at festivals.) use this to clean use face (MIND YOUR EYES) and general bod areas. clean flannel using hot boiling kettle water, ring out and put back in jiffy bag.... Cleansed, toned, and compact.:D
I Love My Library....when I finish/don't like a book, no one gets upset when I return it!Starting 2107lbs this month = 5.5Total loss = 5.5Too many UFOs to count:EasterBun0 -
Welcome Perfect Paradox! yes yes by all means come join! we're a welcoming bunch on here:D
Thanks for the festival tip! that's perfect- exactly along the lines I was thinking of- will pop to store tonight and get some tea tree oil as I've run out but I do already have witchazel so that's a start.
Hmm maybe an idea to start putting bits together tonight so I'm not panic packing on Thursday night- that way lies forgotten toothpaste:D
thanks again be back later!

Hi all! Hope you are all doing well. I have returned from Sonisphere refreshed and invigorated...what a crock
I returned tired and grotty. But a long hot bath, with Lush bath bomb, chocolatey face mask and using Lush's Buffy (all birthday treats) left me in a much better state. Then to top it off, I got DH to use a massage bar on me. Blissssss!
