  • Happy Fabbing Weekend to all

I have a had a fab and busy day while my car was having a service. Meaning I had to walk everywhere. Resulting in a 3 hour walk total for today which is pretty fabby!

I wore a pair of light grey cropped jeggings which I wore once last year with a fitted t-shirt. And now, they fit so much better and.......looser!

  • Hi All

An interesting day. I went for a tour of a famous palace and then out to an equally famous nearby hotel where they know me very well.

I went out slightly overdressed in a beautiful pink and purple silk outfit and well accessorised.

My companion is mega fat and frumpy...but she is lovely and totally deserving of a nice day out and afternoon tea in the hotel gardens.

Well for the first time in fifty years of going to this hotel and of them being family friends of my father's they asked if I had a reservation! They then very reluctantly allowed us to stay for a drink.

In my opinion, it is because my companion wasn't stunningly good looking. I would like to make "fattism" as bad as racism!

 couldn't read and run but just wanted to say I'm back from great holiday.

The fabness must be working as DH commented that he'd taken more photos of me this holiday than he has for years. He's even posted one as our wallpaper on PC:eek:

Have just about caught up with everyone's news so will be back to 'chat' over the weekend.

Aren't you pleased I brought the sun back with me??:D

Sorry but I am officially fed up of this heat :o it's too hot for me, too hot in the house, too hot to exercise and it's making me grumpy. Hair flops by 9am, even my mineral make up feels like it's sliding off my face!!!

And joy oh joy my boobs are tender again. I think it's down to the mirena coil I've got. I googled and Women have reported side effects of weight gain, migraines, depression :eek: so has this been the cause of my low mood? Also they report acne......linked to my recent breakouts?? Problem is not having the coil means back to anaemia just the most horrendous periods :( Stupid bleedin' body......use of pun WAS intended.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Hi
This is my first post here but I read your fab thread and wanted to join in.

I'd love to be a Christmas Cracker! I've just joined WW online and am aiming for the 5% off. I need to lose 3 stones overall but that seems like a big target for now, so I'm just taking small steps.:) I need to get to grips with the pro points thing then get properly started.

    Mediterranean Mode

Sorry to hear some of you are struggling with the heat. Mind I think the last couple of days have been pretty exceptional for dear old Blighty.

Derbyshire may be a long way from the Med - in fact Derby is about as far inland and away from the sea as you can get - which is why it's been a bit humid here today. However, when the mercury rises, I adopt a decidedly slower, more Med type of lifestyle.

Light simple foods, staying out of the sun during the hottest part of the day - preferably having a siesta or at least a lie down - and putting off non-urgent jobs for another day. Although as regulars will know I tend to have a siesta most days;)

I'm a great believer in having a nap if I'm tired. Apparently Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher, the Duke of Wellington were all keen nappers. If it's good enough for them...................

When it's hot it helps to wear pure cotton in a light reflective colour. For the last couple of days I've been dressed head to toe in white and I've been quite comfortable.

Re make up - I'm nicely tanned now so not bothering with make-up, my hair gets a bit sticky so for the time being I am needing to wash it every day.

Food wise - lots of nice light bites, fish, vegetables, fruits and salads.
Still avoiding starchy carbs so not feeling bloated at all.

And, here's the good bit, even with the heat - my ankles and feet are still nice and slender with no swelling. In the past, what with the heat and the carbs they would have been like footballs, very swollen and very tender. A real bonus. Makes me feel good to have nice pins again (apart from the dreaded vv's which I intend to tackle later.

Welcome JoGee and well done on joining WW. Baby steps - you'll be fine. The point system is quite easy once you get going - my top tip just focus on healthy eating and fill up with fruit and veg.

Anyway off to help DS2 with his CV - he's job hunting - bless his little cotton socks.

    G'night all x

Bitsy - sorry to hear about your problems with the mirena coil. I'm afraid I know nothing about them. Perhaps a visit to your GP to look at alternatives??. I think I've seen a thread about them on here somewhere - perhaps you might get some good advice there. Poor you - constant heavy periods are very draining.

Both my Sis and myself had similar problems and we both opted for HRT in the end.
