    Good Morning x
I know it's a silly time to be awake, but my eldest son woke me up coming in from work:eek::eek::eek:

I have invested in some tights this year and have gone for opaques and some woolly ones. I have rather chunky calves and wear them with boots and a skirt. Im looking forward to the colder weather so I can put them on again although I have loved this warm spell:T:T:T

I still need to make more of an effort with my skin care and also need to organise a waxing. I have my hair booked for cut and colour so looking forward to that but it's not for a few weeks so will be rather shaggy by then.

Wishing everyone a FAB day today and onwards and upwards as regards our respective journeys. I am really enjoying mine and have realised that it is the process that is more important than the destination xx

I went way over my kcal allowance yesterday by 1000kcals. Think I needed to eat more food to recover from the long walk on Sunday! That's my excuse anyway!

So today I am back on track and have got my running gear out ready for this evening and have scaled back to the normal food allowance. Looks like this week is the last week of salads as the weather changes and I eat the last bit of lettuce from the garden.

Looked at some HM soup recipes yesterday and I'll be making these shortly and they all come in nicely into the kcal allowance.

Last day of summer sandals today - it was nice to get another week out of them and back to autumn wear tomorrow and proper shoes!

    Morning :hello:

LL HERE'S A LINK to the balmosa cream website. Our doctor prescribed it for mr tru's ankle (he's in the wars at the moment - wrist, ear and ankle!) but the chemist told him it was cheaper over the counter. He bought it and I stole it from him :D

Maman, the holiday was great :) On the drive home, I informed mr tru that I'm going to be even meaner than usual once we were home because I'm determined to save enough money to be able to go back in April :D I've already picked COBWEB COTTAGE, hopefully it'll still be available.

I'm not sure what I'm doing today, I'm feeling like THIS :rotfl:

    Wow!! have we moved on!!!

Thanks Maman for that. I was thinking this myself. It's really wonderful to hear all your success stories - keep 'em coming - it's great for our motivation.

When we are feeling a little low it helps us to remember how far we've come rather than dwelling on how far we need to go.

And you're right Molly - I'm enjoying the process too. Not only does it help me physically - looking and feeling better but also emotionally it helps me stay strong to deal with all that's going on with OH etc.

Tru - Cobweb Cottage looks lovely.

What with Maman's recent trip to Spain and your jaunts to Cornwall you've got me thinking about holidays.

I've been looking at a company called Just You - for single travellers, no single room supplements (No. nothing like 18-30's :rotfl::rotfl:) I'm not looking for a man.

Anyone had any experience of this company.???

Anyway that's all in the future.

For now - well so far I've tidied my eyebrows, deep cleansing face mask, mini pedicure & toe nail paint and a good slathering. Hopefully a manicure and some exercise later.

Right now a mountain of paperwork is glaring at me so I'd better get started.

I have finally managed to blitz my bedroom:j It looks almost presentable. I need to do some re-organising with the drawers but that can wait a while yet.

Have a great day everyone. x

Can't stop, very busy chez maman today but I thought this might interest some of you:

Mary Portas is on C4 tonight 9 p.m.with a new series called Mary Queen of Frocks. My paper bills it as 'For women over 40 who don't want to look like a !!!!! or a granny' (that's a hoar as mse didn't like my previous spelling;)). There are issues about whether C4 should be helping her in a commercial enterprise (she's opened a new dept at House of Fraser, Oxford St.) but I'm just interested in what she thinks we might like to wear.

    Back later.

Hi Ladies.....long time since last "talking" to you, as I haven't had anything useful to add to the conversation....... but I have been reading your posts daily, as I used to do before I joined in this thread. You all seem to be doing REALLY well on "Fabness Road"...apart from the carp that daily life, on occasion, up-chucks at you, and for which we can all empathise and sympathize over!!!

I'm still finding it very hard to justify getting out of my trackies and wearing make-up and perfume, when I spend most of my time alone, although I do make a bit of an effort when I go out food shopping, of for a leg-stretch around the charity shops!! But, I've been VERY good about restricting my CS purchases...probably pushed by lack of cupboard/draw/room space!!!LOL

Happily my post-menopausal weight problems are now a thing of the past, having been on my negligable-carb, total carnivore woe for just gone two years now :T :T :T

Sparkles, I really wouldn't worry too much about overdoing calories occaisionally........in ancient days, humans could NEVER guarentee their daily food/calorie intake....some days loads, and some days nada, and our bodies still function as they did then, so they are prepared for daily adaption. I think it's a really good idea to keep our bodies guessing as to what, and how much food we eat on a daily basis.....it's the same principle as varying one's exercise routines to keep the body from stopping getting used to one routine, and therfore enabling continued strength and muscle building.

Keep on at it girls.....you'll ALL be fab by Christmas, with all the hard work and enthusiasm going on here!!!:j

Can anyone recommend good brands/colours for tights? I want some really smooth opaques both for every day and for 'best' (i.e. special occasions) and suggestions for sheer for evenings and mild days. What does everyone else wear?

For evenings I wear Silkies tights. They are one of those companies where you could only get them by post. They used to send me so many and they are that good I've still got some in the packets from 10+ years ago!! They are sheer but don't seem to ladder very easily :T Not sure what they do now but honestly the tights were fabulous, feel very smooth to the touch and make your legs look fab. And they do opaques as well. I will have a little search tomorrow and see if I can find some info on them.

I was very much like this but am now really enjoying wearing all my clothes again. It really has made me feel so much better and more confident about how I look. I made the decision that as I will not be returning to work (due to ill health) I might as well start wearing and enjoying my clothes again. I have also been fighting the concept of "best" clothes and wearing these items. I often plan what Im going to wear the night before which is much easier in the morning:T:T:T

    hi all,

Thanks Betony and Maman it helps to know someone is thinking about me.
I have been reading through posts, catching up as got back from Cornwall on Monday. Aholiday of 2 half's -spent some of it thinking hope this is the last hol ever have to go on with P- we hadn't been there before and because we didn't know the area obviously had to get our bearings. His impatience because this was 'wasting time' caused friction. To my shame I did lose it and shout 'lets all go back to the caravan and spend the week there then' splintered with swear words.:o To me part of the fun is exploring new surroundings!

Its just not much of a hol for me I spend more time doing stuff than when at home and come back feeling I need another hol. We haven't much money so I cook most of the time and am constantly drying wet swim and beach wear. Then when trying to relax on beach kids want to play -which is fine but I need to chill as well. Spent much of the time on the baech and the weathwer was brill, and the kids enjoyed it so that was the main thing.

Not much fabing -I'm scruffier on hol then any other time -just don't have the time to do anything apart from wash and moisturise and my hair is always amess.
Haven't done much since back either felt dizzy and sick Tues and have been getting through the washing.

I have written a letter to the counselling service about contacting me by letter. I do want to take it up but don't want letters coming to the house. I'm on a waiting list so hope its not too long before I can get going with it.

Woke up feeling anxious this morning -don't know why- have loads should be doing but can't really be bothered. My OU course started at weekend and should be doing this but at the moment can't summon the enthusiasm so my goals for now are to make a plan for study, cleaning and me time.
    Thanks for your support.
