Also I found I was having to eplilate every week to collect the hairs I missed the previous week because they were too short. too long and it makes it agony. I have gone back to ye olde razor, much easier, quicker for me

Have spent 15 mins rebounding. It didn't feel like a massive workout but my legs feel like they've had a good work out and I was sweating buckets. Will start slowly and build myself up and Floss I know I am supposed to do those keagle (sp?) exercises but I always forget
Thanks Bitsy...think I will hang on to my cash for now!!
As for the exercises - I'm in no position to remind you, as I don't do mine either AND I still haven't started doing the tummy muscle exercises my midwife told me to do after DS1 was born and he will be 26 next birthday!! :rotfl:0 -
Hi Everyone
Well - would you believe SS had to cancel the appt with Mum & Dad, so it's been postponed, after all that. Never mind I've put the time to good use and finally finished all OH's SS paperwork, plus some other household paperwork, renewing HC insurance, arranging Burlgar Arlarm service.
So feeling quite pleased, just fished out the winter curtains for the front door. Have decided to double line curtains this year so getting them ready. Hoping to go to Dunhelm tomorrow.
Floss - hope your tummy gets better soon. I had a funny day like that on Sunday - felt quite grim for a while.
Your wardrobe re-organisation sounds wonderful. When our two boys moved out for uni we suddenly had loads of space. Although I really missed them I have to admit it was very nice to spread out a bit and not have wardrobes and cupboards jam packed.
Loving the sound of your shopping trips. You sound as if you've got a great haul there. Quite envious of your dermalogical facial. I do love their products - just a tad expensive.
However, this reminds me, I've been thinking recently about winter skin care. Last year my skin was very delicate over the winter - central heating, cold winds etc and I couldn't seem to find a decent moisturiser. I must have spent a tidy amount on trying different creams which were useless. Rather than throw them away I'm using them up on my elbows, knees and feet. I did make up some rose oil serum but I really would like a good "scientific" cream with all the latest nano technology and wonder ingredients.
I've been thinking that this year I will just bite the bullet and buy some dermalogica bits and pieces. I am soooooo worth it:rotfl::rotfl:.
Mrs W - Big hugs hun. So sorry to hear things are a bit rough for you. We've all missed you. Do take care - as you say it's coming up to that time of year when workplaces seem to go crazy - the usual Christmas rush plus for many companies it's also their financial year end which just adds to the pressure.
Certainly the case with most of my old construction sites.
Top Tip for anyone ever thinking of buying a new build property. Find out when their financial year end is - that's when they give out the best discounts and deals.
Anyway Mrs W - glad you're back and don't worry you have made so much progress with your "Fabness" it'll only take a few gentle tweaks to get you back on track. Don't stress over it - watch that blood pressure.;)

Well I watched Mary Portas last night - didn't show many clothes, more about setting up the shop, interviewing staff. Have to confess found the price quoted for a shirt a bit steep - I think it was round the £95 mark.
Maybe we'll get to see the merchandise next week. It will be interesting to see what she come up with for "over 40"s".
There was an interesting piece in the Daily Mail by Liz Jones the other day who came out in defence of Anne Robinson. Apparently Anne had been critised for "not dressing her age". Oo-er bring on the shawl and carpet slippers.:rotfl:
I personally think Anne is always very well turned out - ok she spends a lot of money etc - but it's her money, she's earned it - why shouldn't she take care of herself and have a great wardrobe.
Re "those" exercises, we all know we should do them - especially for your long term health and comfort - if you catch my drift - I'm not going into details.
I have been looking at some special exerciser thingy that Boots sell - sorry can't for the life of me remember what it's called. Sis is going to price it for me (and get me some discount). I'm afraid I'm getting to that age..................Enough said.:o
Anyway Ladies, feeling a tad sleepy, time for my power nap, then exercise and maybe a little bit of domestic goddess stuff. Fancy making some cake today.
Bye for now x0 -
sorry for not posting for so long - major internet problems , update - have lost over an inch off my waist in the last 3 weeks -thanks to the scary amount of red on the BHF tape measureproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

I know I have been missing in action for a couple of weeks and feel a bit of a fraud as I had only just joined you lovely ladies, I am sorry.
Have been feeling more than a bit down in the dumps and more flab than fab to be honest. I have decided today to stop drinking coffee, start getting my bum in gear and set myself a goal of six months to make me feel fantastic again.
I have realised there is only me that can do it. I am the only person to look after me, I find I get so taken over in looking after everything else in my life that I am getting left behind.
I dont like how I look, I know with hard work and determination I can fix that, I dont like how I feel, tired, lethargic and pretty fed up.
I want to feel FABULOUS, I want to put nice clothes on and look nice! I want to smile at strangers instead of walking past with my head down. I AM going to change my life starting from today. A whole new me is waiting to be found and I am just the person to go out there and find her! :j
I hope you are all well and feeling fab, YOU ARE ALL FABULOUS, if, like my husband you never get told how wonderful you are or feel unappreciated, I am going to tell you (I know it sounds daft as I dont know you or have met you) YOU ARE ALL BLINKING BRILLIANT:T:T:TDetermined to save, save, save

What a lovely post !!!!!!, thank you so much for saying so. And I definitely agree with you!!:A Good luck with getting yourself on track!
Great to see you back MrsW, I was worried where you'd got to. Every sympathy with your cousin, so sad, so young. Sounds like your friends were very kind arranging the weekend trip and the sun shone on you too.
Lizzie and podperson, I think you're heroes doing OU on top of everything else. I speak as one who knows! I did OU in the dark ages when you had to get up at the crack of dawn on Sunday mornings to watch boring TV programmes and creep out after midnight to post handwritten assignments! But it wasn't all bad and I've done lots of studying since. Good on you both.
My nails have improved from a period without polish but I'm not sure that's the main reason why. I cut my nails short before August Bank Holiday as we were helping DD1 move and they were sure to get broken. So they've had a chance for new growth and I've been keeping them really well shaped and buffed up. I've got a few things coming up in the next few weeks so in a while they should be a nice length and I'll go and get them painted professionally at my cheapie Chinese shop.
Floss, we're decorating our guest room. It's been a a bit of a protracted job. New carpet was fitted today, decorating's done and now DH is going to put in fitted wardrobes to replace the smallish freestanding one that was there before. I've had to put all my coats, evening clothes, posher frocks etc in my main wardrobe and take out lots of everyday things and put them in suitcases for the duration! After the wardrobes comes the fun bit which is 'dressing' the room. I'm fancying white bedding, a huge mirror, a chandelier type light fitting, white wooden blind and lace curtains at the moment. The room was all pinks and greens before but now that DGDs are growing up we're having something more sophisticated.
I saw the purple F+F Tesco dress I bought on a TV advert last night. Not worn it yet (due to sun coming out!) but will soon. I also bought some Per Una jeans in CS in a .....size 10:eek: They were £5 but they're in fab condition and I reckoned worth it. To be fair they must be a big 10 and they're stretchy. They'll be a good guide to how my weight is doing.
LL, shame about the postponed appointment, hope they rebook soon. I agree about Anne Robinson's wardrobe it's the troutpout that gets me! Also agree about Mary Portas. I think the shift dress is promising and the jacket but I didn't even like the £95 blouse that much and I wonder how she's going to cater for those voluptuous women. I will however definitely be going in to have a nose when I'm up in London next.
Wow that was a long post. Great to see so many of you posting today. This is such a friendly thread.:T0 -
morning all, and hugs to everyone feeling a bit blue.
All your talk of nice weather is making me jealous - it lashed here all weekend and a good part of this week so far although it's still warm. Which is weather I hate - too warm for a coat but you need something to stop you getting wet. And you feel silly going out in the rain in a t shirt.
I've cut back on the snacks and junk again - am cutting out bread in lunches and am feeling so much better. Less bloated and I do look a bit slimmer as a result. Am also drinking a cup of hot water and lemon juice every morning instead of my first coffee which is also helping the general well-being.
Am also wearing a new jumper dress this morning - it's only from Primark but is lovely and soft, long sleeves, cute wee pockets and a hood and pompoms. It's so cool

I hate getting my hair done at a hairdressers. I think it's coz I'm forced to stare at myself in the mirror...I was gonna have a friend cut my hair but mum refused to let her come round as she has laryngitis. I really don't want to go to a hairdressers but my hair is in desperate need of a cut! Grr.
Finally got through to the hairdressers and it's £26 for a cut and finish. I have no idea whether or not this is a good price?! I've been there before and they did a really good job. Just not too happy about the whole mirror thing

Good morning ladies
Just been to WW - lost 0.5lbs - a bit disappointing but better than nothing.;)
Willow - I know exactly what you mean about the mirror thing at the hairdressers - it's the same as changing rooms - maybe they have special "ugly" mirrors. I always think to myself "surely I can't look that bad":rotfl: It's probably the lighting. Anyway just grit your teeth and think about how fab you'll look with your new hair cut.
Hi Hamsterfan - glad to see you back - inch loss is good.
!!!!!! - Aw shucks, (gives a Goofy chuckle impression). Lovely post - yes of course you can fix it and you will. You, me and all of us will get there.
Persistance Pays Off - We will be fabulous Christmas Crackers.
Just to let you know - DS2 has one of those open day type interviews with the construction company he applied to. 18th Oct so time for some intensive training - interview techniques, homework for the company, general house selling tips etc from the ex pro (me) :rotfl:
So ladies - please, please, please - mark it in your diaries and send him all your good vibes and karma.
Times are so tough for job seekers - especially youngsters trying to get a rung on the career ladders - they need all the help they can get.
Anyway - off to hang out the washing, and pop to Asda's (via a couple of my favourite charity shops).
Have a great day - cold wind here but nice and bright.
See you all later X0
