    Don't drink tea?

Sorry I can't really help. I have almost 2 sugars in my tea and have always thought that the only way to cut down on the sugar was to cut down on the cups of tea I have :o

It's probably a case of getting used to it after a week or two of doing it (or not as the case may be:D)

I found a way to get round the whole "I have to have sugar in my tea" thing. Find a granulated sweetener (I use Sweetness and Light) and put two spoons of that in. The sweetener tablets never seem sweet enough so I figured it's coz they don't look much like sugar :D

So it feels like you're pouring sugar in but without the calories :)

  • What a lovely day - my sis and I took OH to a marina for lunch, just sitting looking at the boats, people watching, eating our lunch and watching the world go by.

This afternoon went to OH's nursing assessment - you've guessed it - they deem him in need of professional nursing - not just personal care. So can I now add State Registered Nurse to my list of accomplishments.:D All this while I've been looking after him - whod've thunk it.

You gotta larf. (or else you'd weep buckets).

Feeling absolutely shattered tonight - every time I sit down I nod off.:rotfl:

    An early night for me.

Hope you've all had a great day and you've managed to get some sun on your bones. Enjoy the glorious weather whilst it lasts - the housework/decluttering etc can wait a few days.

    Happy fabbing.

    Bye for now x
  • I enjoyed the gloriously surprising weather while I was out for run tonight.

Running is my main exercise and exercise is working a treat on the weight loss. Tonights was a 45mins to the new training plan and my legs are aching away tonight as a result of the hard work. It was lovely to run in the bright early evening sun but I was drenched in sweat by the time I got back.

Compliments wise - I was paid a compliment today about shrinking in size, however I didn't realise it was about me thought the person meant it about themselves as they have been exercising too. That was a nice start to the day!

Well I have tried very hard to stick to the calorie allowance this week. Yesterday went over by 200kcals and today have stuck to it so a good result there.

Happiness sent all around as the winter solstice approaches. C'mon we can do it and look fabulous!

Oh for God's sake... I texted my dad last night saying hey and didn't get a reply til this morning which was a blank text. Texted him back to say I got a blank text and he said he was having phone probs. I thought fair enough... Later he texts saying "Did you want to ask anything in particular last night when you texted?" I said "No, just wanted to say hello" Then I got "So why didn't you say, Hi dad how are you?" I replied "Because I wanted to say hello."

Is there anything wrong with a simple hello?! Btw I don't see my dad often and rarely have contact with him. The last time he texted it was to ask how much my mum sold my nan's house for. (first, my nan died just before christmas last year and second, it has nothing to do with my dad as my parents have been divorced for 10 years...) Sorry for the rant but I needed to get all that off my chest.

ETA: I got a reply saying "Out of respect. You only have one Dad." GRRRR!

    Hey Everyone,

Nipped into Matalan this morning, tried on a few dresses. Two were lovely but didn't quite fit - one of them was absolutely beautiful, and I could see that it would fit beautifully if I lost a few pounds... I'm hoping that this will spur me on diet wise! Bought one that looks nice on and is really flattering on me... http://www.matalan.co.uk/fcp/product/fashion-to-buy-online/-Dresses/3/4-Sleeve-Sheered-Waist-Dress/44042&resultsPerPage=100&attrList=Dept,brand

It fits my waist, and skims my tum (i.e 'my worst bit', lol). It is fine on it's own, but I'm going to get a thick red belt to 'set it off', and add a bit of colour. I find that I really need to define my waist (hourglass figure, unfortunately covered in 'chub' at the moment :rotfl:) as otherwise I look huge all over!

PP - I know what you mean about Gok's DIY outfits. I love the ideas, but would never find the time to actually do them myself! I'd also worry about ruining the clothes... they usually aren't that cheap that you can afford to start chopping them up in the hope of making them look better!

Betony - I don't know too much about SW, but are there any 'free foods' that you could snack on for when you feel that you need something to go with the tea?
  • Hi All

Podperson - thanks for your welcome and words of encouragement. I was very thin until my mid thirties and then the weight has piled on. I have about 3 stone to lose. What have I tried? weight watchers many times (all that counting and recording with minimal results) the Zone (good weight loss and got into a routine then got blighted with depression due to the low carbs) and Atkins (made my breath smell and I never felt "well" on it). Food Doctor Diet (the best one in terms of healthy eating but again no dramatic results. I work most of the day at a computer, in my PJs :.) and I have been inundated with work and I have done very little exercise. Now I get out of breath just shopping for an hour or so. The thought of weight and diets makes me feel miserable!!!! And I also feel miserable if I think I am going to spend the next 20 years as a size 20/22!!!

LessonLearned - Take care with the NHS and social services! They tried to argue with my mother that she could be cared for at home and I had to fight to get her in a nursing home placement. If you own your own home you may want to consider getting yourself as Tenants in Common and do a Trust Deed. You can PM me if you need more information on why this may be a good idea. You can PM me if you need any moral support or advice on choosing a home too!

I had one compliment on my appearance (Ok it was at my local charity shop - but a compliment is a compliment! And a lot of compliments on my speech at my local speaking club. Tomorrow I am going to laze around on the grass in Kew gardens for most of the day and RELAX!

The sun is shining and it is so hot so I have got my summer dress on with a pretty cardigan. I didnt wear this dress over the summer because I just couldn't be bothered so my attitude has improved:T:T:T

Hope you are doing well today and enjoying the sun x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Well I have been abscent too, being feeling too poorly to bother much about anything.
I have a maxi dress on today. Light cotton one, so feel more elegant then I would normally. But didnt do any of my normal routines and need to be a bit better with the moisturising etc. Really want to wash my hair, but my arm is not playing the game today! I hope I will be well enough for a shower in the morning. (Probably around 3am when I wake as has been the norm these days!!).
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
  • Hello Everyone

    Another beautiful day.:):)

Well done on the pretty summer dresses everyone - it's so nice to be able to wear something light and summery. Time enough for the winter layers.

WW today - put 1lb back on:( So cross with myself.

    Must try harder.

Right it's 13 weeks till Christmas so for me it's going to be a big push now if I'm going to lose that next stone.

    Time to get serious.

Popped into Scope today - have decided to try and go back and do a few hours, one morning a week. I really miss it.

Still very tired and have been a bit tearful today. OH's main pa has been ill this week so I've not had many breaks. Luckily DS2 on holiday from work so I've not been totally alone, however, don't like to burden him too much. He's very good but can't really ask him to do bathroom trips etc. so my poor back and neck are rather sore at the moment.

Will definitely book that physio for next week when main PA is back.

Nice to hear that you are all starting to get lots of nice compliments. Way to go.:T:T

As I mentioned have been sorting out bank/savings etc this last week or so. Caught DS2 doing the same - looks like it's finally rubbed off and he's caught the MSE bug at last.:rotfl:

    G'night all x
  • Another lovely day - a great day for Fabbies everywhere.

Today went to CS and bought a grey tweedy long cardigan - bargain at £5 - nice and warm and snuggly for winter chills. (Today I'm wearing white cotton cropped trousers and a sleeveless top - ha).

I've been very good the last couple of days :D - no bread, cakes, biscuits etc - just lots of healthy salads, fruit and veg. Let's hope this helps me get back on track.

Fridge Friday was slim pickings - so just made some carrot and coriander soup for freezer - no points so will help the diet when the weather is cold.

Quite chuffed with myself this month re the housekeeping, came well within budget and the cupboards are still bursting.:rotfl:

Anyway off to join OH & DS2 - they are going to have plum crumble for pudding whilst I will just have some raspberries.

    G'night all X

Have a great weekend - Happy Fabbing.:)
