£20 off £40 Ocado

This is most upsetting.
We have been offered a contract with terms and conditions. We have essentially agreed to provide Crowdity/Ocado with our e-mails and data in exchange for a voucher which we could use until June 30th.
These were the terms of the 'contract' to which we all agreed.
We have fulfilled our side of the contract, duly registering our data etc, but the other party has decided to unilaterally change the terms of the contract and not honour their side of the deal.
An apology will not do.
If I were to shop at Ocado, buy £30 worth of goods, would I be allowed to pay just £23 for it just offering an apology? I think not.
What is upsetting me is not the fact that I haven't got my money-off voucher per se. The problem here is that we have been told that there was no voucher only AFTER we submitted our personal data. This is cheating.
Had the offer been : subscribe to Crowdity and you MAY receive an Ocado voucher" or "subscribe to Crowdity and you will receive a voucher which you will be able to use on a first-come-first-served basis", then it would have been fair enough.
This would have enabled us to make an informed decison as to whether we were prepared to share our data for the 'possibility' of a financial reward. Instead we have all been misled.
I really don't care about the £20 but the feeling of having been cheated is something I cannot shake off...0 -
If I was Tesco or Sainsbury right now... I would honour the Ocado/Crowdify voucher... and stick it right up them.0

Just saw this on Facebook.
We are all no longer 'new' customers so will not be able to take up any further 'new' customer offers (that's if you want to after this chaos of course!)

AND since we have all registered with Ocado now, even if we turned silly for a day and thought about buying from them we have negated any right to new customer offers as we are "returning customers"0 -
Just checked my email and got the one saying they've basically cancelled the offer - not impressed, if they can't honour the deal don't offer it! So now we've given our e-mail addresses and details to a company for absolutely nothing. Expected more of Ocado!Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world!

This just gets more and more ridiculous.
I have written to Crowdity asking to be removed from their database - shoukd I do the same with Ocado and, if I do, would I regain my 'first-time-customer-virginity'?
...Not that I do want to shop with Ocado right now, I'm too disgusted with them...0 -

I think instead of everybody going mad with ocado and crowdity, perhaps you should be looking at the fact that this offer was widely abused as soon as the code appeared on internet forums. Instead of the offer being just for the limited number who registered, it was used by hundreds (thousands?) of people they had not anticipated or financially planned for. Personally Im not suprised the companies involved have withdrawn the offer. It would have potentially cost them a fortune.0
