In that case I urge you to pay the money.
Imagine you had paid....you wouldn't now be back on here posting 'I know everyone says ignore, but I might pay'.
All the stuff about 'signage, contract, can anyone, etc' is unnecessary bollix and serves no purpose since the answer with any 'private' PPC issue is ignore.
After you've paid you can then sleep easy at night and stop worrying [about nothing].
Most people who don't pay actually get a thrill/satisfaction from not paying, but since it's obviously affecting your ability to think I genuinely do believe it would be in your best interest to pay.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Obviously they have realised you are not caving in so they have gone to plan B, tell you its cancelled apart from an Admin fee of £10.oo. Congrats on getting this far, only a short way to go now, continue as before.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Pamela2009 wrote: »Has anyone been penalised because they did not enter their full registration on the car park ticket which they purchased from a machine?
I purchased a ticket in Birmingham and paid the correct fee, i only entered the first two letters of my registration and then two weeks later got a fine saying beacuse i hadn't paid the correct fee they want me to pay £60.00. I appealed on the fact that i had paid the correct fee and of course they are now saying i should have entered the full registration. There is nothing on the back of ticket under the terms and conditions to stipulate this. I have telephoned the company but you are charged 50p per minute just for the pleasure of phoning them. The do not want to listen.Just for you to pay.I am torn between paying and ignoring.
Anyone else had a similar problem?
Thanks Sorry the Company is Vehicle Control Services Ltd of Sheffield
Pamela, were you sent a charge from the people from this link?
http://www.vehiclecontrol.co.uk/
Let me assure you that you have nothing to worry about. They are a private company and it wouldn't have mattered two hoots had you not paid them a penny. Obviously whether you pay or not is your choice however what you were given was not a fine, nor a penalty, but a document. The demand on it is wholly unlawful and you have already done yourself minor harm by "appealing". Their requisition is unlawful and there is no appeal, so you do one of two things: write to deny the "debt" outright, or ignore all correspondences from them. Using the term "appeal" both gives them a legal foothold and it sends them a signal that you may place yourself at their mercey. You don't have to. It is not worth worrying about the registration details or proving the money you paid. These exhibits would be your failsafe should the matter go to County Court, but it won't, because those crooks know that the demand does not compensate for their losses. You owe these swines no explanation, put your feet up and relax, enjoy life.0 -

You will have a looooong wait! That's one of the letters in the letter-chains shown on the top thread so you are nearly there:

If you are extra lucky they may ring you up and harass you as well! In which case tell them the alleged debt is DENIED. Phone down, Scam over.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Pamela2009..any updates on your case? Have you stopped being chased a year on?
I've recently got a "fine" from them for pulling into the carpark whilst trying to sort out my satnav issues! I never left the vehicle at any point but since I exceeded 10 mins in there they've sent me a fine! Told them refused to pay as I wasn't "parked" as per the legal definition as never actually left my car..am I right???0 -

You are wrong on two points No 1 its not a fine its an invoice! No 2 you are still parked even if your engine is running and you are still in the car.
However the good news just ignore the invoice they have no authority to invoice you. You will receive the normal letter chain then they will go away.
Pamela2009 has not posted back on this thread as they have probably not heard anything more then the usual chain.
Just ignore them!0 -
Most people don't come back here after the muppets stop writing to them. But over 20 have in this thread below.Hi guys, just thought I'd start a thread to gauge just how many of us 'brave souls' have successsfully ignored the letters and not paid a penny to these fraudsters...0

Thanks guys, I just hope they do go away soon, I made the mistake of replying to their initial "invoice", refused to pay them £60 & offered them their hourly rate as I felt that was all they were owed, am hoping that if it does go to court this will act in my favour maybe..hmmm, here's to hoping the letters don't become a court order0
