I actually got a letter back today after I refused to pay Monday, saying bla bla bla.....(basically my resposnsibility to ensure I entered correct details)....."however, in accordance with the terms stated upon the site signage, we are willing on this occassion to cancel the above Parking Charge Notice provided an administration fee of £10 is received within 14 days"......everyone telling me I shouldn't pay that either, but if it stops any more letters I'm thinking I'm better to save the hassle and at least I've not had to pay £60 or even £90! ??????????????????????? :beer:0

Yes you are correct; pay the £10 if you want to stop more letters.
BTW what's so scary about a bit of A4 paper folded up inside an envelope??Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Will you send me £10. to stop me sending you letters asking for more money.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Whats to stop them continueing to ask for more money after you've paid the £10.00I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

The !!!! up in admin was theirs why should you pay for it. It has cost them no more to contact you then it has for you to contact them. [except for the DVLA fee] They knew you paid they were prepared to rip you off. Think about it?0

It is not hassle to ignore some letters which you KNOW are a scam! Letters which we have already shown you in pictures in the top sticky thread.
Would you send a phishing emailer a tenner to stop him sending more phishing emails?
ANY money paid to a PPC just funds their intimidation of another victim, why would you want to feel you had contibuted to that? Why not just donate the tenner to charity, it will do some good, will make you feel good and would not be lining a PPC's pockets.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

i know you're all right, but I'm prob too chicken. You don't know how hard it was not to pay in the first place, so for me that's a victory. I've looked at all the letters they will send me and they've intimidated me before they arrive! I've not paid yet, so you've time to convince me!.....do you think from their wording that there's something a miss with their signage? ..... "however, in accordance with the terms stated upon the site signage, we are willing on this occassion to cancel the above Parking Charge Notice provided an administration fee of £10 is received within 14 days". Are they saying here that the sign isn't clear enough? Cause I'm miles away I can't check....Pamela2009 was yours the same car park - Albert Street Birmingham (open air) car park? Does anyone live near there who could photograph the signage? If so I'd feel more confident at turning their offer of £10 charge down?! Thanks0

gandaallen2, yes I think their signs are likely to be defective; after all you saw no instructions to tell you to enter your full reg number. So you have not agreed to any contract to pay them any more than the parking fee.
Why should you pay them a tenner? Asking you to pay for their admin is taking the mickey and unenforceable (I doubt the signs tell you that you could be responsible for their admin fee of £10...!).
Please give a tenner to charity instead and collect the threatogram letters like we all have done; they are really quite funny (yes funny!) when you are expecting each letter and know it's a scam. Filing each one away in a drawer marked 'ignore' makes you feel quite daring and smug at the same time. And if you have given the tenner to charity as well it's a win-win situation!
Have you checked out the Watchdog link yet? And you say you have seen the PPC letter-chains pictures on the top sticky, so your next letters will be just as pretty! Do not reply, do not feel you have to say you are not paying, do not go and look at the signs. Just enjoy the Summer and forget the whole scam.PRIVATE 'PCN'?
