Quite a lot has happened since I last posted. The winter showed us that we were living too far from habitation. Had it not been for the Pig Farm Manager and his wife we would have been really up the creek without a paddle. We were snowed in for 5 weeks. The village was just over a mile away but with no footpath for ¾ of the walk, it was not ideal.
We had decided to stay with the cottage for another year when we found an apartment just off the High Street, it’s very quiet and peaceful despite being so close to the town. We are within walking distance of shops, Library Drs etc. The town is where we lived some 16 years ago.
It was not an easy decision to make, we loved the cottage and garden, but when I added up what we had spent on oil, wood, coal, oil and electricity , the convenience with no oil etc we decided to bite the bullet and move. I do not recommend moving 3 times in 2 years. I am now faced with having to pay off 2 moves.
OH remains much the same with his dizzies, he has been discharged from the clinic, there is really nothing else they can do.
After 2 years of stressful situations my health is suffering, I have a flare up of my fibromyalgia….mostly bed or settee bound. Not sure what happened to last week, feeling slightly better this week, have managed to do one or two things with long rests in between.
I have lost my sewing room, but we still have a guest room, unlike the cottage which I had to clean from top to bottom when we moved in, the apartment was freshly painted and in excellent condition, our landlord is an ex teacher and very anxious that we should be comfortable in the apartment. We are in a block of 4 apartments(2 up 2 down) with a shared hall at the bottom of the stairs, just 24 properties in the courtyard, no road through we have a car park at the entrance. There is no through way, there is a gate in the back wall but its kept locked, we all have a key so we can come and go as we want to. The entrance at the front is through an archway at the side of what was The Bluebell Inn many years ago. The complex is built on the coach yard and stables.
Our apartment is upstairs and we have the advantage of having half the floor space over the hall in the kitchen. Well fitted kitchen room for a table, large sitting room, two good sized bedrooms one with built in wardrobes and a large modern bathroom with a shower.
We do not have a garden but have got part of a bed at the back of our apartment which I filled with herbaceous plants from the cottage, we also got permission from our downstairs neighbour to put planters and pots under his windows, so we are keeping our hands in.
OH has volunteered at a local garden and is also involved with the bowls club and the information centre in the town. I am just a short walk from where my quilting group hold their meetings.

Well I came home, cleaned up Kenwood Chef number 2 which had arrived in my absense, and set to making a loaf of bread. The knocking back had to be done by hand since my flatmate was asleep, but my, the feel and texture of the dough far outstripped my manual attempt on Saturday! :j I must've kneaded that dough for a good 10 minutes back then, and it didn't achieve the smoothness or silkiness of the Kenwood's attempt. If the bread is as good as it feels, the mixer will have paid for itself in four to six months, and I will have a waistline to match.0

Csarina - your new apartment sounds lovely. :)Hopefully now you are settled your health will improve a bit, being snowed in for 5 weeks sounds awful!
Did a bit more glossing - decided to do it in small bursts as there's so much.
washing dried before we had a sudden storm so luckily I got it in. Its cleared up a bit now.
Tomorrow we're off to Rhyl in North Wales for the day - picking up some pigeon nest boxes while we are there. Not been to Rhyl for years so fingers crossed for a bit of sunshine. We'll take a picnic with us then tomorrow evening in our local pub there's 2 local bands playing plus a free BBQ:T
going to wash up now then might get my book out for a nice quiet read!Do what you love :happyhear0 -

Bitsy - peanut butter on granary toast? Or grated cheese & marmite / pickle / tomato?
Bathroom still ongoing...yesterday's tiles have been taken off today as they'd slid & the tiler isn't happy! Still have a house full of dust and a bath in the dining room....I'm sure that wasn't what we'd decided!!0 -
try some hummus Bitsy...you will be surprised it is really good and great for protein:j
Am sure some of the veggies will have some ideas for cheap protein.

Will be glad when today is over and I can forget about work altogether as I wont even be off sick...will be left! I must admit am a bit disappointed that none of my colleagues have acknowledged the fact that I have left:o after 10 years of working there you would think that they would at least send a card. Re affirms my reasons for leaving ie they are a bunch of t w u n t s but it still saddens me to think they havent bothered:(0 -
I just thought I would add to the christmas theme and say I have already bought two christmas presents but in my defence they will need to be shipped to australia in septemberStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Afternoon all!
Yay laptop is not exactly back to full fitness, but it works now!
OS stuff continues as usual, though food can be a bit hit and miss as I've been tired due to not sleeping brilliantly occasionally! My shopping bills are a lot less as I just can't be bothered to go, once a week clutching a list made from a meal plan feels quite enough! Also helps that I'm not working any more, so don't pick stuff up on my way home!
Growing ever bigger with Spud now, 7 weeks to go - hopefully! Have a very fetching waddle, which makes the kids laugh a lot, and have everything ready except for my hospital bag - doubt I shall actually make it to hosp tho as my labours have all been very fast, but will pack one anyway!
Going to have a catch up on the thread now, hugs to all xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Im getting a little bit excited too about :xmassmile:xmassmile:xmassmile:snow_laug:snow_laug:snow_laug:santa2::santa2::santa2::xmassign::xmassign::xmastree::xmastree::xmastree: too
Im booked on a textile christmas decoration course at Denman College (WI) and have started finding little bits to use.
Well what a rubbish day - back in bed and no cleaning done. Oh well it will be there again tomorrow though. I didnt get out to see Moo either:(I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
