Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning All.

Up and at em (thanks kids!) at 5am this morning.

Today - Bathrooms, kids b'room:eek:, Tea tonight Chicken of some description.

Not much to say - as i've not quite woke up yet :o

Have lovely ones xx

    Morning everyone,

It rained really heavily here last night, I find it really comforting lying in a warm bed listening to the rain.

Not my usual bouncy self this morning.
DD2 has a clarinet exam and it is so hard to get time off work that I can't take her, I have had to arrange for a friend to do it.

Also I had a phone call last night from my mum to tell me that my only aunt had died, it was totally unexpected, I saw her in March and she was the picture of health.
My mum was really shocked about it.

Tea tonight will be sausages, probably in barbecue sauce.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

May do a banana loaf as some black ones need using up.

Off to work soon, hubby & I both have leftovers in our packups, the house is gradually returning to a semblance of normality, well as near as it gets round here.
Last nights tea was LO Jerk chicken, tonights is LO roast beef, as ever it will be served with HG new potatoes.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Moorhen - Really sorry to hear about your aunt x
NPM - You will always be a nurse in your heart - I know that Im still a midwife Hugsxxx
Bargain Bird - I wish I could be up and at em like you. Hopefully today will be better as I decluttered a B12 injection yesterday as think it was plummeting pretty quickly. I have a few tentative plans which includes getting DD to tidy her bedroom:eek::eek::eek: as she has now finished her exams and is at a loose end apart from her jobs.

Would also like to get the kitchen floor cleaned and conservatory as it closely resembles a greenhouse. Im very excited though as I have lots of tomatoes forming. I need to plant on some corn and tomatoes too. Im also popping in to see Mooloo for a cuppa and catch up later. She has been very down lately so hoping she starts to feel better soon xx

Gammon, new potatoes and homegrown veg with parsley sauce for tea - yum yum.

Summer solstice......wont be long to christmas:xmassmile

Have a lovely day OS friends xxx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Sorry to hear about your Aunt Moorhen. Know what you mean NPM as I'm also planning, not in quite so much detail, the school holidays. Thinking that we'll have a basic plan each week and then have a holiday to various grandparents for a week each. Might also go and see a friend for a week too!

Tidied up the house last night so despite the children getting up so early its reasonable! Seems like I misread my approved foods order - instead of ordering 2.5kg of scone mix I ordered 12.5 KILOS - scones anyone???

Raining here which is nice as I don't have to water my veggies. Tea tonight will be something easy from the freezer. Got to get tiles for the bathroom today and then I'll go and see a friend to drop off presents for another friend. Will be a busy day. Hugs to everyone - feel like sharing today!!!!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Morning ladies, sorry to hear of your auntie's death Moorhen, deepest sympathy to you and your family at this sad time

up and about early today, fed up cos nobody bothered to wash up last night and the place is a tip!

had a very productive weekend, made a 2lb banana loaf, which smelled divine, some very nice person raided our bank account and had I imagine a couple of hours fun on a poker website at our expense, our account was frozen and our cards were stopped, which was great but left us with about £20 and a few pence that somehow find themselves lurking at the bottom of our bags, so I wrapped this yummy banana loaf up lovingly and gave it to my stepdad (who loves banana loaf), it didn't even raise a smile! enough of a whinge...thankfully i kept the delish victoria sandwich he he

I have also mastered liver & bacon, DH was v impressed and has gone to work with the leftovers today

Debating whether to hang washing on line or not...

and then off to work, got to chair a meeting which is going to be full of whinges...wish me luck!

    Morning all

Hope u guys don't mind me joining in here.

Well I have been up since 2.25am after waking on the sofa so I am now up and dressed ready to go for my run after taking the minibeasts to school/preschool. DS has his 3rd PECS session today, went really well last time as he's picking it up so quickly so hoping for more good news when I collect him later. DD1 is off to a friends after school today as well so when I get in at 1pm I can stay in and tackle my FL list.

Toad in the hole for dinner tonight and I think I will find a couple of dinners to use up the roast chicken in the fridge, any help would be fab :) (roasted whole chicken last night and only had a curry from 1 leg, 2 wings and the meat "underneath" so plenty left)

    Have a good day all

    Good Morning All

Sorry to hear your news Moorhen (((hugs)))

    Enjoy your last day NPM

Love the photo's on your blog Hester

Tuesday already :j Have a morning in the office planned then an afternoon ironing :o

Am still being careful about overdoing things. Saw the doctor yesterday and am now waiting for a hospital appointment. Feel much better at the moment but apparently the infection could come back at anytime

So slowly am catching up with 3 weeks of work that I have missed. Oh and got offered the job that I applied for sometime ago, unfortunately they have had to change it from 16 hours to 30 which is just too much for me so had to turn it down.

No idea what is for dinner tonight, before start the office work will have a route around in the freezers, havn't menu planned for ages!

Anyway need another cuppa, have a great day all.x
