I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge

Please, please, please can i join in, my kitchen cupboards, dining room sideboards and shelves in downstairs loo/utility are fit too bursting, so are my 2 freezers and to be honest its not even funny any more, opened a kitchen cupboard yesterday and a tin of tomatoes dropped on my toe, which is now really sore.
Enough is enough, i'm going to only allow my self £100 max next month for groceries.
So far this morning i have made tomato and lentil soup which is cooking away in the slow cooker, dd can make some rolls later to go with it so thats lunch sorted. I have taken a beef casserole out of the freezer, not quite enough for 2 adults and 2 children so going to cook off some potatoes, make some pastry and make a meat and tattie pie for tea with mushy peas, yum.
Will also get some baking done to try and get rid of the stockpile of muffin mix that i have from approved foods.0 -
Morning.
Spent £2.68 in Lidl on veg and £3.39 in Sainsbury's last night on some half price frozen fish (TTD Cod) and some packs of oranges for 10p each and a 19p ready meal.
Pate filled mushrooms for lunch and a chicken stir fry later. Cheese on toast for breakfast.
I need milk later, but nothing else............need to start meal planning!!!

Wow....I go away for a week and there's 4 whole pages when I get back :rotfl:
Spent quite a lot when we were away but determined to get back on it now we're back.
New challenge is to take pack up to work EVERY day - kind of slipped just before we went away and spent an absolute fortune on stuff from the canteen that I didn't really enjoy
Treated myself to a couple of magazines while I was away and now have ideas for frittata to take cold, also need to make use of the flask I bought for soups etc.
Was looking in cupboard last night to see if I had any pineapple to put on top of the gammon and found a jar of carbonara sauce - that will be used on some tagliatelle at some point in the week. Got mince out for chilli con carne tonight and trying to decide whether to use some pork chops for lunch tomorrow or venture into Mr A and see what's available...decisions, decisions...Anywhere is within walking distance - if you have the time!!0 -
Will be making a spag bol, out of a pack of mince from freezer tf pork mince, was supposed to cook it today with a whoopsied garlic bread thingy, but was feeling unwell throwing up, so just made the garlic brad and had some of that, so will do spag bol 2mo, i have a few questions if anyone can answer?
Can you freeze Bean sprouts? Also fresh carrots if i slice them, can i just bag up and freeze? 1 more is, i want to make a batch of chocie fairy cakes, can i freeze these? if yes, would i just defrost and eat? or defrost and warm?
Grateful for any help, the reason i ask about the beansprouts and carrots, is i have a slow cooker and have looked up some recipes, once of which is a chicken chowmein, the chines supermarket do a huge bag of bean sprouts for £ i doubt i will use them all in this recipe, so would be handy to freeze, instead of buying a smaller pack for almost the same price.

You can freeze the cakes (minus any icing/decoration), i'd just defrost and eat. I tried to freeze beensprouts but Stinky the rabbit got them so don't know if it it worked or not!
Today, I've got roast beef joint out the fridge and some HM runner beans that we batch froze. Also will use up carrots, pots, yorkshires and stuffing - all in so no need to spend any money!
Would like a fry up for breakfast...but we have no eggs/bacon/anything! So will try and resist.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Morning all.
Spent a few £1's on Saturday, well just over 8!!!!!
Bought mainly reduced frozen fish from Sainsbury's (worth checking the freezer section) and a few bits and bobs using up coupons.
Had a no-spend-day yesterday and one planned for today - determined to stay out of shops until tomorrow.
Nothing planned for today yet, but might get rid of a pizza and make some wedgers. Might also make some juice with the cheap oranges, orange and carrot juice.

Lifted lamb out for OH, i'm going to have meatballs for dinner. Lunch for OH is l/o beef sarnies, I'm going to use up the 2nd half of a tin of tuna i started yesterday.
Had to go to sainsbobs to get snacky food on OH's orders, waste of money if you ask me, but i don't really snack.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

morning all i haven't been on for a few days, got a good few reduced bits on thur and stocked up on cleanings stuff from amazon, on fri our chippy had an offer where everything was £1 so we spent £6 on the 5 of us then i stopped for coke and saw some on offer crisps
not sure that counts as stock piling because they won't last long, then to make it even worse we all went and got ice cream again, to justify it oh was overpaid so it was technically free :rotfl: however the chippy me and oh got on sat night aswell was not!!!:o it was yummy tho
anyway we were good yesterday had lunch in mil and pizza and garlic bread from the freezer for tea with free yogurts mil gave us as she's starting slimming world today (how nice are amore yogurts there almost worth the 60p lol) today i'll be good aswell, we splet in but breakfast was jam sandwichs (we really slept in it was a grab on the way out job lol) lunch will be sausage rolls and dinner will be cauliflower and brocolli cheese, with mince for the kids and me and oh will have the same but with roasties aswell (he doesn't really like cauliflower or brocolli but i'll put a wee bit on his plate) leftover caulflower and brocolli cheese will be frozen for lunches, pudding is some reduced doughtnuts from the freezer i'll warm them in the oven and serve with value custard
my freezer and cupboards are still as full as when i started this, whats worse is i still feel i need to buy stuff were out of tinned pineapple even tho we have loads of other tinned fruit i feel i need to buy some because it's the kids fav yet really i know i don't and they can have peaches, pears or oranges if i really wanna give them tinned stuff

Well we are doing well, I think, in the chest freezer, it's worked right down, we have some frozen pizzas and mince in there, basically another fornights worth of pasta type things.
In the tiny fridge freezer, it's got all yellow label items, from 10p mince (using tonight in a spag bol) to anything bread rolls / chocolate etc)
We need to pop out for fresh bread and milk this week but even then we have long life milk and frozen bread so we can survive.0 -
Well I ventured into Mr As and bought a HUGE shoulder of pork for £4.80, had lunch for the 3 of us, another dinner plated up for me to eat tonight (boys are with their dad), cold slices for yesterday's lunch in sandwiches with stuffing and apple sauce - yum yum!
The other part of the roast was cubed up and will become a curry when it re-emerges from the freezer :rotfl:
Dinner for me last night was bacon and blue cheese pasta but I had to call at Mr A for the blue cheese and the double cream - BUT I did get some bread bargains - tiger rolls, deli paninis and soft burger buns all down to 10p so stocked up and they're in the freezer now in the gaps I'd made previously.
Lunch today is HM curried lentil and carrot soup - 3 other portions in the freezer for another time...not entirely sure I'm on the correct thread here because if I'd done it 'properly' my freezer should be empty now...and I'm struggling to get the door shut - AGAIN :eek:Anywhere is within walking distance - if you have the time!!0
