    I've been Money Tipped!
God knows how I did it, but a no-spend-day yesterday. Not for the want of trying though!!!
Got a few coupons I want to use, but items not in stock. Just walked away and kept pennies for another day.
Chicken stir fry was nice, never had a sauce to add and just mixed a few spoons of honey with soy sauce and a little water and mixed in - simple and cheap.

Took pies out for today and a long hiding tub of Sainsbury's mash (reduced) is finally getting used. So pie, mash and peas.
Porridge for breakfast and snacks in between. Looks like a "stodgy" food day.

Unless Sainsbury's have some bargains later, it should also be a no-spend-day. Picking up a few things tomorrow though.

Also hope the kids are well quidtwins, the bug thing seems to be everywhere.

Regarding loss of Nectar points - I have the Sainsburys app on my phone and get extra points from a choice of c.10 a week deals. The points go onto your account the day after the offer finishes.

Got 75 points for buying potatoes, 200 for buying from the just cook range (salmon en croute etc) - even in the reduced.

Remembered getting 150 points for buying a bag of Lindt mini eggs in the reduced after Easter for 29p

The colleagues that have handset IDs, their actions on these is monitored on Eagle Eye - the same system that pulls colleagues for behaviours such as buying 30 cases of beer in the same week or using a Nectar card that isn't your own or the named 2nd person that can use your staff discount card.

I have heard a colleague from another store got either the sack or changed their job as everything they bought was reduced. They weren't all genuine reductions.

Glad I caught up on this thread when I did as in my haste to get ready for the school run I'd forgot to add the mushrooms to my beef and mushroom casserole!

Thanks for the suggestions susan and beachie, I'll definitely be making the pasta bake, hopefully thursday and the pumpkin soup next week, both sound lovely.

Today WILL be a NSD! Spent enough yesterday so certainly won't be buying today.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

I'd like to join please. There is only me and I'm trying to lose weight which is hard when I am trying to use things up

I've been through my cupboards today and thrown away a few things that are way out of date.

I have enough flour (out of date - but seems ok) for 5 loaves of bread that I meant to make a long time ago. I wondered whether to bin it but it seems such a waste. I don't each much bread - just wish I could have a couple of slices every so often. Once frozen, it doesn't seem the same (I make wholemeal bread in a breadmaker)

I bought a tin of savoury biscuits the other day to keep for Christmas only to find I have a packet of them best before date July 2011. (Will be ok - but I'm trying to lose weight!') Other things were out of date 2009! eek!

I'm going to try to go through my freezer and use up the oldest things there. I bought some frozen sprouts last Christmas then found some fresh ones. Bought fresh ones this week - keep forgetting I should use up the frozen ones. Have some butternut squash too but not sure what to eat that with - doesn't look too appetising frozen.

Wish me luck - I am sure I'm going to need it. If my storecupboard gets reduced I'm going to use the space for my linen and not stock up as much (it's not all food, I have toiletries and household items there also)

Today is chilli con carne with the mince i got in Lidl last week, lunch is a curry snack pot from the freezer (Whoopsied @ sainsbobs)

Not sure what to do tomorrow, I really fancy pasta, i've not had any in ages, so will do something - a bake i think.
