Rats. So annoyed, just doing the finances etc and realised I forgot to take two coupons with me to the supermarket today - and they were things I bought as well
Ah well, one has a long expiration date and the other I will keep to use in the little T's near my work.
Had portion of stirfry for late lunch, then had shepherds pie and reduced meringues to followNot much out of freezer today but plenty IN. lol

NSD today and the freezer is starting to empty out slightly :j
A really healthy bag of crisps for breakfast as I was busy in a lab. For lunch I wanted some homemade veggie chili that I threw in the freezer ages ago, but stupidly didn't portion out, so I had to defrost the whole giant box to get any out, looks like I'll be eating a lot of chili over the next few days! Had it in a sandwich with grated cheese. Then for dinner I made a Quorn chicken casserole (beef for OH) with the frozen YS carrots and parsnips and lots of other veg
Possible shopping trip tomorrow because we have hardly any drink left and need some cat litter. I have about £14 worth of Sainsbury's vouchers at the moment, so will probably go there, although I still count it as part of the monthly budget.0 -
Morning all, just snowing slightly here.
We were supposed to be going to Scarborough next week (booked cheap Travelodge ages ago), but thinking of giving it a miss. Only £12 lost on the room, but will save on petrol and eating out and will be warmer indoors (main decider). Took a gamble that the weather may have been good and was prepared to lose the room.
NSD yesterday - 3 in a row. :j
Car going in for a little work and MOT (hopefully) later. Fingers crossed.
So won't be out shopping until tonight at the earliest, if at all. Nothing needed that can't wait, so could be NSD 4 of the week, 4 in a row. Definitely shopping tomorrow (if not tonight) as will need milk and bits. Might get some 50p offers from Morries tomorrow.
Toasted hot cross bun for breakfast, beef dinner for main meal.

NSD for me yesterday.
Not sure what is for lunch today but dinner is mushroom and cannelini bean stroganoff (not sure OH has cottoned on that it is a veggie meal!) with left over basmati rice from the fridge and some dried mushrooms from the cupboard.0 -

Well, the freezer section is virtually empty :j (will have to post a pic of when it is empty), so the March strategy is work my way through the store cupboard jars/tins, only buying food to use up those ingredients. Then, when the cupboard is empty or thereabouts, I have a 'clean slate' to start again.
So, last night's tea was veggie Thai red curry, using a jar of Blue Dragon sauce I'd got on special offer ages ago (but it was still within the use-by date, just:)). I was very impressed with it - not usually a fan of the sauces in jars - and will keep an eye out for it again, if it's on special offer. It worked out at around £3.40 for four portions (including rice), so enough for tea, and three for the fridge/freezer.'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

It's ages since I've posted, need to catch up with all the past pages.
Had a bad reaction to some tabs, was on another planet for a couple of weeks. Back to normal again.
I am just converting 50 (yes you read that correctly) free range, organic, chickens into meals. Therefore, there is a huge ban on shopping for meat for a few months.
Lunch cheese for OH, soup for me,
Dinner, ham and chicken in puff pastry, fruit and jelly0 -
Afternoon all
Planning a few NSD days until next week when I have to pop to Asd@ to get bayleaves due to gammon bought on y/s yesterday in T's. Probably get a couple other bits if we need them (loo rolls and ingredients for bread making maybe) and have a £1.05 price guarantee voucher that needs using too.
Out of freezer today -
Rustler's burger, ready for tomorrow night after work
1/4 loaf bread
Nothing in.
Got bicarb of soda to go with the plain flour that needs using in the cupboard, planning on making some form of cake with it0 -
Afternoon all, hope everyone is ok.
Well lots of snow here, OH phoned this morning asking if I thought the kids would be at school today as the roads were bad, I was saying yes off course it's not that bad he said have you looked out the window today I replied yes off course I have, naughty me had slept in a little not going to admit it or would never hear the end of it. Quickly said oh have you heard on the radio buses are not running he hadn't heard anything phew. Check out the window was shocked at the amount of snow wake the kids up and checked the net, the buses were running they were out the door on time. It's been snowing off and on all day not great.
Gailey, you are doing well, keep up with the homemade cakes, scones are good aswell and maybe you could make them some pop corn really cheap and jelly in little pots.
Kat, best of luck to your OH with job search, sure you'll be fine.
Theatregirl, that's a pity about the job.
Well food today is brekkie I didn't bother, lunch was cheese on toast and planning lasagne, chips and salad for dinner, youngest will probably want something else I can already hear the moaning if so she can have fish :-) .
Stay warm everyone catch up later.0 -
